We have been very happy with the experience at Auberge. Our only complaint is that they do not accept Medicaid. We will have to move my mother out of Auberge within a few months as we are running out of money. Auberge has been wonderful working with us regarding finances, but they don't have any Medicaid beds. I don't understand why memory care units don't. It's really very sad the way we (this country) handle our eldercare.... Read more

Billing inaccuracies are frequent and if not questioned by the advocate they continue. If someone must be moved from the facility because the facility cannot care for them, even when on hospice, you will continue to be billed for the room for 14 days (regardless if a death occurs). There is a lack of doing the right thing vs referring to the contract by management.Turnover of employees is high and requires contract workers to fill in. This causes inconsistency in care for the residents.

October 24, 2024Thank you for sharing your experience. We're glad to hear your mother had a positive experience at Auberge. We understand the challenges around funding elder care and appreciate your feedback. Your insights are valuable as we strive to improve our services and support for families like yours.
We chose The Auberge at Lake Zurich because of the location of the facility, the fact that they offered respite care for short stays, and the overall amenities and staff. I would tell others just to make sure and mark clothing with your loved ones name beforehand.

Response from The Auberge at Lake Zurich
July 15, 2024Hi there, We are so happy to hear that your family has received such high quality care from our team.
I highly recommend this facility and I would say to anyone with a family member in this area who needs memory care to look at this one first. The staff at The Auberge was well trained and even the agency staff they had to use to fill in were great. I saw staff working together to help people too. I also saw staff going out of their way to be kind and affectionate with people, which was wonderful to see. Communication was excellent and we even participated in the initial treatment planning meeting. My mother in law didn't live long enough for more meetings. The meals were hearty and looked like old fashioned, meat and potatoes type, food that elderly people would love. My mother in law was lactose intolerant and we brought in lactose free ice cream for her, which they kept in their freezer and it was never a problem with them giving her inappropriate food. The Auberge has a very homey, living room look in their main day room with attached dining area that I found very comfortable. Also, instead of one big facility, The Auberge is divided into 4 identical small buildings called cottages and so if someone is moved from one to another, there is no confusion as it looks exactly the same.

February 14, 2024Hi Christie, Thank you for your kind words. We are happy to hear your loved one is feeling cared for and comfortable at The Auberge at Lake Zurich. We always strive to care for our residents and give them the best quality of life here.
The facility is short staffed. The food is not great. Personal items are lost consistently. Sometimes interaction between patients and staff is curt and not sensitive. Activities are an afterthought. They due minimum without trying to engage for participation. No creative efforts. This is one of the better facilities. Staff needs a little TLC training on top of the tactical work

Areas that The Auberge at Lake Zurich could improve no - Accountability in caring for the clients. My husband had multiple "lack of care" instances. When he came home I was back and forth with hospital and doctors offices.

October 26, 2023Hello there, Thank you for sharing your experience at our community. Our professional staff aim to provide high quality care to all our residents. We would like to look into this further. If you are willing, please reach out to us at ResidentExperience@frontiermgmt.com.
It is solely A Memory Care Community with small quantities of residence per each cottage. I felt like the one-on-one care would be more attainable with a smaller number of residents per building. We do also received good reviews from actual loved ones of residence while taking the tour.

August 12, 2023Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review for The Auberge at Lake Zurich. Our staff strives to foster a positive community experience for all our residents, and your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
They are very engaged with the clients and family. The monthly learning sessions with the families was very helpful and informative. They could do better with communication between the staff and clients. I believe the staff was trying to accommodate some requests but did not communicate with the following shift on the requests. Also there were times where the room appeared to have a quick mopping and missed some of the floor. I think Covid and the ridiculous Illinois Covid policies and oversight caused difficulty with appropriate staffing. There were times when the staff level was low, but not the fault of Auberge. They did their best to compensate for the lack of staffing but seemed a little overwhelmed for the clients who needed more care and attention. I believe they are better staffed today but my rating is for the period we were there and Covid policies were difficult to navigate. Overall the leadership staff was eager to help and corrected any concerns we had. The hospice group has to get a lot better. I know they are a third party but boy they communicated very little and never gave an update unless we called them.

July 6, 2023Hi there, We are happy to hear our staff are providing a friendly and warm environment for you. Thank you for taking time to share your experience.
The staff was very friendly, the houses were very clean and did not smell like a nursing home, they staff had scheduled activities for the residents almost every hour of the day. They also cared about the residents and would tailor special amenities for a resident if they needed something extra. They also have an open areas for the residence to walk around outside safely. They make the residents feel like they have freedom and it's their own home. I love auberge and am very grateful for them.

May 27, 2023Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for the kind words! We strive to create the best community for both our residents and our employees. We are glad to hear that we have delivered at The Auberge at Lake Zurich.
The Auberge at Lake Zurich was a good community; however, it was on the expensive side. I also didn't think the community was a good fit for my loved one.

What we really like about The Auberge at Lake Zurich is the staff's responsiveness - whenever we have questions or concerns they are quick to handle it. However an area of improvement could be with the activities - said told us all about these activities and where they are posted but from what we have seen there is not much at all, but we do think they are working on improving that.

March 6, 2023Hello there, We are sorry you feel that way. We pride ourselves on providing high quality care and feedback like this helps us improve. We would like to learn more about your concerns. The availability of staff and the attention they provide for suggestions or concerns that arise stand out to us at this facility. The medical physician is very knowledgeable and has elder care experience working with memory patients. Also the general staff provides individual attention and personalized care to the patients. The facility conducts monthly sessions for the families to be updated and learn about memory care and its various stages of the aging process. They are informative and allow family members to talk in a group setting about experiences and observations. I would recommend them to others, however everyone must understand that there is an initial adjustment period where the staff and families need to become familiar with each other. No one can be brought in and expect everything to be perfect on the first day.

November 28, 2022Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review for The Auberge at Lake Zurich. Our staff strives to foster a positive community experience for all our residents, and your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks Larry.
The place is set up in pods, so there may be different experiences in different pods. They promised a lot, and did not quit deliver. The labor shortage has been a big issue, since they are understaffed yet still opened a new pod and continue to take new residents. I realize that part is due to the times we are living in right now. I guess a recommendation would depend on how much care your loved one requires. This is my mother-in-law's third facility. Part of the problem is because of my "helicopter " sister-in-law trying to micromanage the staff. But there have been some serious issues with medications.

September 1, 2022We are so happy to hear you had such an enjoyable experience on your recent tour with us. We take pride in treating each resident with care while providing a comfortable atmosphere for residents to call home. We hope to welcome you in the near future!
We like that it is a smaller more quant set up, it is 4 buildings and not one large mass building. It seemed a lot more individualized and the staff to residents ratio seemed better. It also does not feel like a hospital, it has a homier feel to it.

This was more memory care based, and not exactly what we were looking for for our loved one. It is a nice place though.
What a beautiful facility! There are so many positive aspects with regard to pets, residents ability to come & go freely from the facility to walk outdoors, a kitchen in each cottage. However, a shared room doesn’t allow any privacy whatsoever to either resident. If a private room were affordable it would definitely be among my choices.

It is a great community to put your loved one in. They have great team work, and everyone has a caring personality. The staff are responsive to answering questions on my loved one. If they don't know the answer, they will be happy to find the answer for you.
