Response from The Arbors at Taunton
July 1, 2024Dianne, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review about The Arbors Assisted Living. We appreciate your kind words, and we are happy to hear about mom's experience with us. Please know we are always here should you need anything in the future!
The onboarding could be improved. We had to iron out a few things over the first few weeks that I believe should have been dealt with on day one or two: laundry, hair washing regimen, communication on family visits. The staff have been great. Housekeeping great. The meals are excellent. I would recommend this facility to others.

Overall The Arbors at Taunton is a very good place. It is kept clean and neat. The staff is welcoming and I/she feel safe with her living there. They have been great to get her involved in activities and always appreciating of her helping other tenants. Sticker shock on any of these facilities is overwhelming. But, she is safe there and isn't looking to leave or say anything negative about it. Everyone is different and has different needs. This location suits her and her abilities for now. I would suggest it be looked at pending the potential tenants needs. I can't say anything bad about them. Always room for improvement. They are great to deal with.

The staff at The Arbors at Taunton are super friendly and they are constantly having events for the residents and invite family to come join as well. I think more effort could be made with cleaning. There are some stained fabrics on chairs and carpets that should probably be replaced. But they do seem to focus on the care and the well being of the residents. I would recommend them as their prices are fair in comparison.

We took a tour of The Abors at Taunton during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. We liked this facility very much! The price was much better than some of the other facilities in the area that we toured and it was a 1 bedroom unit and close to home. However, they don't accept pets, which is something that was important for my loved one.
Read MoreWe picked this community, because it is clean, attention to memory care needs, and location. Very happy we found it for mom. The staff seems to care.

What stuck out about The Arbors at Taunton was that the facility was a round circle format, and very well appointed, and seem very quaint and cozy versus big and spacious and spread out. Even though the staff does a difficult job, they always take time to stop and really listen to questions and concerns presented to them and make an effort to remedy and follow through which we appreciate. I highly recommend The Arbors.

The Arbors to be honest reminded me of College dorms for the elderly. We were not impressed especially for the cost each month. My loved one chose another community.
They did very well with communication with us. I was happy with my experience with the asstisted living. I would recommend to other families.

The tour person was fantastic. The rooms were nice. They offered more activities, and they were more reasonably prices.
we toured this community and were very impressed. [name removed], who gave us our tour was awesome! he left such a great impression, and even eased some of our anxiety with moving my loved one into a new community. we chose another community because The Arbors just didn't fit all of my loved ones needs.
This is a great community for your loved one. With my loved ones I feel like I may have waited to long to make the change so the transition was a little harder. I would even like to live in this community. The longer you stay the more you understand how things work. Orientation is a little lacking that is the one things that I would change.

The Arbors is very expensive, but they never have enough staff to care for residents. I cook for my Mom, who has been there for about two years, her and always make enough for leftovers for a few extra meals. I write to nursing staff and leave notes in her room for staff to offer the leftovers to my Mom, yet they never prepare the leftovers for her (she doesn't like the food there) and I end up throwing out my Mom's favorite meals. Home cooked food is something she looks forward to. Staff, including the Executive Director, act like they are doing you a favor to simply do anything for your loved one. There have been multiple incidents where my Mom didn't get her medications (they were put in her microwave!) and ongoing theft. Management, enables rather than deals with these issues. When her refrigerator was broken, rather than replace it they put a huge bucket in the refrigerator which collected brown water that was leaking. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

In 2019 I inquired about assisted living for my father who needed Portuguese companionship, I took a tour and was impressed with quality of care and attention to every resident. Unfortunately, they didn't have any resident in the assisted living that spoke fluent Portuguese and soon after, Covid was upon us. My father moved in with me. His memory during Covid deteriorated and we needed more help. The Arbors reconnected with me, had me take a tour of their Memory Care Unit. Who had more Portuguese speaking residents in the memory care. [name removed] was very helpful. The patients were engaged and the staff were very attentive to the residents. Taking dad for a tour soon.

They have a good sales pitch, the marketing person was good. The administrator was very helpful and understanding. They keep the residents in their rooms, and they don't have a lot of activities for the residents to choose from or participate in. I think they are understaffed, overall.
