TerraBella Summerville

Where do I start….I went on a tour with my wife looking for a place for her mom & as soon as we pulled up there were residents just sitting out front in wheelchairs by themselves, that was the first red flag. [name removed] who gave us the tour smelled like a brewery & was slurring his words. Most of the staff was friendly except for the caregivers, they were VERY rude, and couldn’t speak coherent English & the RCC was also rude, we were introduced & she just grunted at us. One of the residents was sitting in his own feces while the 2 girls at the nurses station just stared at their phones & [name removed] quickly led us down the hall. Now this was recent & of course, they have decorated for Halloween but it looked more like a ghetto haunted house than anything. Needless to say we will NOT be sending my MIL here which is unfortunate because a few years ago this place was one of the best in Summerville.

My mom only lived there for 2 weeks before she was hospitalized and passed away. They went way over in taking care of her and being there for me during a most difficult time. I would recommend them. We picked this community because they were friendly, clean and the price.

My mom was there for two years before she passed. She received the best care there. I would and have recommended to others. Mainly because it was right next to Summerville Medical Center, so when she needed to go to the hospital, it was right there. The place was clean, people were very nice and it was close to my house.

So far my experience with TerraBella Summerville has been going well. They are good at communicating with me when something happens. And the nursing staff are very easy to talk with. An area for improvement would be better communication from supervisor of facility and when patient returns from a hospital. visit.

We chose Terrabella Summerville because my stepfathers mother was there and had a very good experience. They had no availabilities at first but right when we needed it they had a space open up, it was meant to be. [name removed] the director and [name removed] the director of nursing were awesome, very helpful and easy to communicate with. They have a lot of activities going on, every time we go to visit there is something happening. I would recommend Terrabella to others, it was a positive experience for us.

It was really clean, They were really good to my loved one, and they adapted very well. The staff communicated well, and overall, it's good value for the money.

Worst part is that they don't put like people together. They put folks who need a lot of supervision with folks that need little supervision and that causes problems.

I would highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones. They have both memory care and assisted living care. They have common area that all the residents can meet up at. There is a separate wing for memory care; however, this is not a locked community behind doors. The only way that visitors and residents can get in and out is by a staff member letting you in or out of the community. Every one is able to eat in the dining room. The food is good, and my loved one hasn't complained. They had a zoo carnival to the community at see animals and other activities for the residents to participate in. There is a craft center for the residents to make items in. They even have painted my loved one's nails in the past, and they have church services. The staff are very caring towards the residents. It is a clean community that feels safe.

This community still allows us to see our loved ones, there have been no communication issues which is very important.

My mother resided at Magnolias of Summerville for almost two years. She suffered from dementia. The staff were caring and compassionate, and we were always welcomed. Even when she was difficult, she was treated with respect and true concern. Her room became her “home” and the staff and residents her family.

My dad was a resident at Magnolias of Summerville for three years. I could not have made a better decision for my family and him. He was safe and in very capable hands. The staff at Magnolias loved him like he was their own dad. I have and would recommend Magnolias to anyone who is looking for long term care for aging parents.

I was visiting this place for my grandfather and my initial concern once I got near the rooms but a strong odor smell and I even heard another employee reprimanding another one for washing another residents clothes when it wasn't his day even though it should have been done. Very unprofessional. I asked a few employees how long they had been there and even the director and director of nursing hadn't been there long. They are also over priced for such small rooms. I would keep looking.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for our loved one. I thought this was a very nice looking place overall, and it was our second choice out of the communities we looked at. The facility itself was clean and well taken care of, and the staff all seemed friendly and caring.

Hi, I am really pleased and satisfied with the care mom is getting. They care about the food they give their diabetic residents. Mom hasn't had to have an insulin injection but once since she has been there . Now, moms only been at Magnolias since June 30, 2014, so right now I do rate them highly. It is a much cleaner facility than where she was and the people that work there are efficient and very helpful to her and the family. Oh! the rooms are all large. We are excited we found this place, mom likes it too.

My husbnd was released to this skilled nursing home yesterday. I could not leave him there because the place was so dirty. The bed was only a little more than a cot! The comode did not work. I was really hot and the odor was awful. I saw only one nurse for the nursing station. Our case worker is trying to find us another place.

I was so impressed with the initial visit, I cancelled the other ones I had made.

We've been very pleased with Magnolias, they go above and beyond what's expected of them, they answer any questions, no matter how unimportant it may seem. It's clean, the people that work there know her by her name, her likes and dislikes and you couldn't ask for a better place. They're always trying to get her to do things, my mother is a little stubborn so she doesn't but they're just fantastic. This is her first time living away from home and she's having a very hard time adjusting, it has nothing to do with the place or the staff, but she's a very stubborn lady. They have tried so hard to get her to do the arts and crafts but she says she doesn't want to be with those "old peopel" even though she's older than some of them. My mother loves the cooks, she doesn't like the food but whatever they cook for her she isn't going to like. They go out of their way to make sure she eats and they've gone out of their way to help. You can drop by anytime you want, it doesn't matter what time of day you go. Out of 5 I would give them a 6 or 7!

Assisted living only. Facility is small but very clean with all of the services expected in an assisted living scenario. Two nurses stations...staff extremely friendly. Was told all of the residents know each other due to small size. Is in nice area located right beside Summerville Medical Center and beside Nason emergency care. Location is approximately 7 miles from house. Base rate includes all meals, utilities, housekeeping, laundry, reminders for bathing and hygiene, dressing and activities programming. Private suite $3233.00 Base plus inlcudes all of the base plus medication management. $3449.00 There are 3levels of assistance offered above the base and based Lvl I $3828.00 Lvl II $4206.00 Lvl III $4585.00
