I toured this facility. It was clean and staff was friendly. But it was expensive.
The worst decision we ever made. What they told and reality are completely opposite. The residents are ignored, no one knows their name, no one tried to interact. My lived one lost so much weight during covid. The residents are ignored and mistreated by the hateful staff that turns over constantly. Will regret this choice forever.

It does appear that they are trying to correct some of the issues that they had early on and they are trying to improve the quality and seem to be doing better, but we did have some major issues in the beginning.

We chose Sycamore Place because of the all inclusive pay so we know what we will pay every month. If I need anything extra they are very up front with the cost. It had everything we needed to care for my dad. They do offer a lot of activities he just does not participate, but they do try. They were just bought out by Frontier but essentially nothing will change such as the quality of care and the amount I will pay. Every-time I go see him he always has clean laundry and his room is very clean and he looks healthy. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

We chose Sycamore Place because they are a brand new facility so it is very nice. From the beginning, they truly made me feel like my loved one is with family. Their communication is out of this world. If he wants to call us they do it right away, if we call they return our messages immediately and they always call with any updates on him or anything they think, we might want to know. It is an Alzheimer's facility and there is a wide range. Within a couple weeks of being here, they put him on a new medicine and it has made all of the difference in the world. I would highly recommend to others who are looking.

Our loved one was in there for about a month and unfortunately fell and broke their hip. They were taken to the hospital then into rehab. We were told the doctors were watching her progress but we never received any calls with updates, and then Sycamore billed us for their regular nursing home treatment even thought our loved one was in the hospital then rehab,.
When we first were looking into this community we really liked what we saw, and they only focus on memory care residents. We thought our loved one was going to have a tough time transitioning at first, but she was able to relate with the staff, she was extremely friendly and calm and wanted to hear about all their activities. Sycamore has been very good to our loved one, there is a small walking area inside the community which she really enjoys. The only issue we ran into was the medicine our loved one was on for her dementia. It caused some problems with her motor skills, but the doctor backed it off and that is taken care of and everything is good. The community is also back open for visitation.
With Alzheimer's sometimes our loved ones things are scattered and sometimes they have things that do not belong to them, so we feel they could work on organization. However, it is a nice place, it is fairly new. Thge food is very good he seems to really be enjoying the meals

It was pleasant and clean. This wasn't the right fit for my loved one in my opinion. Due to the pandemic there were no outside therapist coming in. In the beginning the community was very helpful.

I liked this facility at the beginning, during covid it seems like they do what's more convenient for the staff no the families. I feel like they could have made more of an effort during the summer months of covid. They have a nice outdoor area that was not used at all. The room sizes are large, and the food looks good. If money is a concern I would recommend this facility.

I liked the community. They keep a close eye on the residents. They seem to really care. They are very family like. The food was okay not as good as the Assisted Living food. I like the layout, it is in a circle so they could not really get lost. The do have an outdoor common area for residents.

My sister and I used a Place for Mom to find the location for Mom's entry into assisted living for those with dementia. The assisted living center we chose was perfect for what we needed at the time and we are still grateful for the help from a Place for Mom when both my sister and I were asking the other "what do we do about Mom?". Four years later Mom began to wander and we had to move her to a secured center. We found Sycamore Place. It took Mom only about a week to adjust and feel safe and comfortable in her new environment. From what I've seen, the residents there are treated with love, hugs and a whole lot of patience. Everyone who lives at this facility is encouraged to be involved with daily activities everyday. Each resident gets their medicine as needed. There are snacks in between meals. It is not uncommon at all (I've seen it more than once) to see the staff just walk up and give the residents a hug and the reverse is also true. There are several outside areas where residents can enjoy the sunshine when the weather is nice. I've seen the staff sit and hold hands with residents if they just need that extra bit of attention. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at Sycamore Place. So, I highly recommend Sycamore Place! I'm very grateful to have found such a great place for my Mom.

This place has been a Godsend. They care about my Mom. My mom feels loved and cared for here. (She isn't yelled or fussed at like she was at her previous place...[removed]..they said she was aggressive, but come to find out..it was because of how THEY were treating her there when we weren't around.) At Sycamore, they try not to say "no" to the residents....instead they distract or redirect them as needed. She has been at Sycamore for almost 5 months and we have been very pleased with her care. I just hate that we didn't move her here sooner. She shares a room, which I thought might be a problem, but it has been just fine. Sycamore prefers them to be out in the community where they can be seen and have them interact with each other and the staff. The rooms are fully furnished, which is very nice. Also, Sycamore provides bed linens, towels & washcloths. (you can bring your own,if you prefer). During the day, they are encouraged to participate in the activities. They can watch tv in the 2 different tv rooms/dens. There is comfortable seating all through the hallways where they can sit and talk to others or just sit and rest. When I'm there, I notice the residents participating in activities or talking to each other, walking the halls with others or by themselves, some are taking naps, some are watching tv. Staff is always around...interacting with, helping, talking to or just watching the residents as they go about their daily living. Also, they have 3 secured, beautiful outside places for them to enjoy. The staff has been helpful and nice each time I visit Mom. (I visit 1-3 times a week.) The staff interacts with Mom when I'm there and they are very kind to her. There are those that I REALLY like and others that are ok. But so far there hasn't been anyone that I dislike or that I feel is treating Mom poorly. The caregivers have specific residents that they are responsible for throughout their shifts (Which is great! That means no one is forgotten about.) I don't know the specifics, but I know that they rotate to different residents different days so that they all get to know ALL of the residents. Some activities: nails painted, games, exercise, crafts, singing, dancing, Bible study, outings to various places-for those who can go, cooking/baking, flower arranging There is a hair salon in the community where they can have it cut, styled or permed regularly. They have 2 dining rooms. Not b/c there are too many residents...but b/c they want the residents to preserve their dignity. One of the dining rooms is for the residents who may need assistance in eating. They don't want those who need assistance to feel inadequate around those who don't. There are nurses on duty 24/7. The upper management take turns working weekend shifts, so there is management there 7 days a week. They can run labs and do x-rays on site. They have dental check ups available for those who want them. After about 5 months, I am still pleased with the care and treatment my mom receives at Sycamore. I’m hoping that never changes.

My eighty-eight year old stepfather has Alzheimer’s. My eighty-four year old mother has been caring for him at home for several years now and it just became too much for her to handle, both physically and emotionally. We did a LOT of research on Memory Care facilities in the Olive Branch, MS/Memphis area. We ruled out many very quickly. We finally toured three facilities in the area. Sycamore Place far exceeded the other two facilities in every way. The building is clean, neat, and orderly, but at the same time cozy and uplifting and not at all depressing. The air smells fresh and clean, not perfumed. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. But most of all…the staff are very professional, caring, understanding, upbeat, and attentive to details. As we toured around the building the residents would just “light up” when they would see their care givers. That says a lot! The office staff have been immensely patient, helpful and understanding throughout this heart breaking and difficult process. We brought my stepfather in on August 30. He is doing very well under their care. We are so pleased and relieved to have found a wonderful home for him. Sycamore Place was definitely the right choice.
