It is very unorganized at Pointe at Kirby Gate. The wall TV broke in the sitting area. They changed management and there have been no upgrades to the facility but yet they are trying to increase the cost to live there. Positive: some of the staff are very nice and professional & the food is on point.

The small size makes it more personalized and "home-like" ; the way the staff smiles, speaks, and takes a few minutes for residents. A new director has just been hired and positive changes are being made: Family night every 3rd week of the month; making an on-site psychiatrist available; the hiring of a Dir of Nursing. I think we are headed toward all 5's with the new adm.

We like the location, staff, and cleanliness. They could improve on a little landscape flaw near the entrance. There's only 7 parking spaces outside the gate. It's a little tight if you have a large vehicle.

There is always room for improvement, but I don't have any complaints about the staff or facilities. Staff is very helpful. Feel free to ask them about anything or express any needs you might have. They go the extra mile.

They made a change in staff which improved care. My Aunt was dehydrated and hospitalized because of it. New Dir. made significant changes, added more activities for the secured side. Staffing change- more care for patients. I would recommend this facility.

My sister has been a resident of the Pointe at Kirby Gate for over eight years now. Since the new Director [name removed] has taken over I have seen more joy, more activities and an overall better atmosphere.

My 93 year old neighbor who has dementia moved in February of 2024. She still does not have an emergency pendant. The staff is not friendly and no one speaks. I could not get answers to my questions regarding my friend’s care so I tried to email the Director who is there most of the times I am there but she is busy. She has yet to answer my email from April 2024. I am not sure she is getting bathed and often has the same clothes on for two days.

My mom has been a resident at The Point at Kirby Gate for two months. So far, I am pleased and she is, too!!! She tells me at every visit they are so good to her, and that is so important!! Her room is small but very nice! It overlooks the courtyard with a nice view from her double windows. She has room for a double bed, a triple dresser, an end table and a love seat. She likes the food but says sometimes the portions are too small. She loves that they have her cup of coffee sitting at her table every morning at breakfast. She enjoys talking to the ladies who sit at her table. She can’t hear any more and but the ladies are very sweet about making sure she knows what they say. It is a warm, friendly environment. We feel blessed she has a wonderful place where she is well taken care of every day!!

I've been extremely satisfied.I am so pleased with our selection of the pointe at Kirby Gate. Management went above and beyond to help me get my husband moved as we were under a time crunch. He's so much improved since we've been here.I selected the pointe cause it's 2 minutes from our home. So convenient.

The facility is the right size, and the staff is very nice and takes good care of my dad. [name removed] has been very kind and caring to us. She was a big factor in our decision when choosing The Pointe at Kirby Gate. We watched her interaction with the residents and new this was the best place for my dad. [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed] are super nice and work extra hard. [name removed] is the most pleasant and concerned nurse. [name removed] is the most thorough and detailed resident assistant. I wish they had more help. They work very hard. Memory Care residents require more assistance. I am comfortable with my dad being there as long as there are caring staff members as these.

We picked this community, because of the price and convenient location. They've had several changes in management over the last year which I find concerning. There's been a lot of turnover in management which does not make me happy. Mom is happy and fine though

My Father would be alive today if he hadn't fallen on that hard floor 3 times. Hitting his head at least one time with a knot resulting. The meals prepared were terrible. Very unprofessional. My father went to rehab, and right before his release, the social worker told me Kirby Gate informed them that my Father was not allowed to return there. I scrambled to find a place for my dad. I was able to get his personals out before the end of that month, and I asked them for a refund for the remaining time, they never replied, therefore they stole money from me. Unfortunately, my Father passed away on [date removed]. Kirby Point is a horrible facility for Dementia patients.

The actual care was fine - Dad's room was kept clean and he was kept clean, and they reported his cellulitis and got him to the hospital quickly. But the business side of the community is horrible. The nurses and caretakers were great, I have no complaints about them, but the administration is a nightmare. First; they tried to bill me [amount removed] more than the lease said and the excuse was "oh we never read the lease." Then, I was promised in writing by text message that first month would be pro-rated - nope, failed to honor that. My dad was treated quite well, but I was treated extremely poorly as the payer on this bill. I felt like they made every effort to effectively steal money by trying to charge me [amount removed] more, by going back on their word about pro-rating, and then by terminating the lease but still expecting me to pay. I had a horrendous experience with this facility.

It's a nice place overall. They take good care of my loved one. But the food has not been good at all. They told me it would be good, home cooked meals. But everything is deep fried, and they serve lunch leftovers at dinner. They also think cabbage and potatoes is a whole meal. For as much as we're paying, they should have better food.

A Place for Mom has scored Pointe At Kirby Gate 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
