The staff is fantastic. Not only are they knowledgeable but they are very compassionate not only to the residents but to the families as well. My father passed away in their care and they treated his body with such dignity and respect and gave us so much support and compassion. I highly recommend the facility

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The place feels like home. My aunt has made many friends and is very happy there. The place is very festive during all the holidays. There are celebrations every month for birthdays.

I always thought of assisted-living like a nursing home. This was the exact opposite. It was very homey, warm, and inviting everyone there was smiling. There were no smells and no crazy sounds. I would absolutely move my loved run into sunrise of Smithtown.

Very welcoming community from the first introduction. Concierge, administration, nursing and Sales team. Very clean. Staff very caring. Communication is top notch. Activity coordinator wonderful. My mother is very happy and we know she is well taken care of.

The room we toured had a very bad smell, but I'm sure it was due to a recent accident, which I'm sure happens often. I'm just not sure they should have shown us a room that smelled so foul. They seemed very nice there, but we were only there for 15 minutes, so my experience is limited. We were looking for a 2 week respite stay and the policy at Sunrise was a month minimum.

We went with Sunrise of Smithtown because they had end of life licensing - so they are able to take care of individuals until they pass. We also were not happy with the quality of care they were receiving at their previous facility and the care seemed great here. They staff really seem to go out of their way to try to accommodate anybody regardless of their personality. Even the most tough residents they handle with class and dignity. The professionalism of the staff really stands out. They are also very responsive to the clientele as well - when I bring up an issue they address it and do not blow it off. They also admit mistakes they have made which I appreciated. It is extremely expensive but I have been pleased with the quality of care they are receiving.

My mother in law had been at another facility that we did not care for at all, it seemed impersonal. When we went to Sunrise it felt the opposite, it was very warm and friendly. I think they do a very good job in coordinating staff and their efforts in dealing with families. My mother in law went into hospice quickly and they were very caring and went above and beyond to accommodate us. I had one negative experience with the front desk because we did not call ahead to let them know that we were coming. But once brought to their attention, they took care of it right away and it was really good to know that we were not ignored. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

I felt that this community was wonderful for my husband but for people who are more medically involved and not for more independent living. This was a lovely place just not the right place for my sister.
Our tour at Sunrise of Smithtown was very good. I thought it was a very nice place. It was slightly newer and very clean. It was just a little more expensive than what we were looking for.
My tour at Sunrise of Smithtown was good. They showed me around and explained everything to me. I felt like I got a good idea of the community. The main reason we didn't choose them was the price.
Sunrise has been absolutely wonderful from the very beginning. The executive director and all of the staff have been caring, kind, compassionate, and excellent communicators before and during COVID-19. They send a evening report by email with updates to all of the family members. My aunt has food allergies to soy and peanuts. We met with the chef and he has her menu down to a perfect science. All of the staff in the building at Sunrise have a clear understanding for cognitive related impairments such as dementia and Alzheimer's. They are all educated in how to handle , talk to, comfort, de-escalate, and redirect the residents.

if i could give the administration 0 stars i would. Staff is somewhat nice. Receptionist not so much, and administration cold and not caring. They are all about the $, and business. They are all business, not caring for feelings or comfort of the elderly. Could not wait to get my Granfather out of there!

My dad moved in on Wed and passed away on Friday. He came from a rehab facility that we as siblings felt was less than great for him. Although it was only for 48 hours we were so glad to move dad to Sunrise. My brother and I met with staff/hospice on the first day and were greeted with such professionalism and compassion. The day Dad passed away when I asked for information from staff they responded quickly and beautifully. All members of the staff helped me out , whether they were personal care aides, maintenance staff or the nurses on duty, it was just such a wonderful experience. When Dad died, they handled things swiftly but compassionately. They even tastefully suggested we could move Dad's things out whenever we needed too and ultimately we were refunded a great deal of the money we had paid them for the month. I am very glad Dad spent his last days at Sunrise.

My Dad has Parkinsons and requires the enhanced care. I feel that the activities have been good for him. He refers to the other residents as his friends. And the food is quite good, too. I have no complaints.
