My grandfather is in exceptional hands in this facility. The activities they have, and the time they spend with their residents makes all the difference compared to other homes that I've toured with my mother.

When my sister and I were searching for a facility to help with our father, it was a very tough decision to make. Neither one of us had the time to give him that he deserved. After touring several facilities, we knew that Manorhouse would be the one. The attentiveness that they showed toward my father was exceptional. I know he is in good hands when we are unable to visit with him.

I could not be happier with the staff at Manorhouse. The care and attention my grandmother receives is phenomenal! When we went looking for an assisted living facility, I knew Manorhouse was the place the moment I walked through the doors. When I visit, I hear nothing but wonderful things about how well it is directed and run. Keep up the good work!

My mother was cared for here after developing Alzheimer's. It was difficult for me to come to the decision, but once I did, I never regretted it. Mom loved it here and everyone that had a hand in her care. We lost mom awhile back, even after her passing everyone still treated us like family. Thankful Manorhouse was there, and close by, when we needed it. I tell everyone what a great place this is and will continue to do so. Thank you all for being there and caring for my mother.

Toured this facility, among several others, we were very impressed. Nice curb appeal, as we were entering we spoke with some family members of a resident that were leaving from their visit. They gave us a raving review of the staff and care received for their loved one and assured us we would not be disappointed if we chose this as the new home for our loved one. We continued in for our tour and I must say everyone was very attentive and kind. Lots of smiling faces. We really were impressed with everyone and everything. We still have a couple of other places we had planned to visit, however, I think we've decided there's no need to look any further.

I was just visiting during the Halloween festivities. Everyone had such a great time. I always feel so welcome and can tell the staff really cares for all of the residents. It's a family environment that makes you feel right at home. We moved our loved one here because we were not satisfied with the care received at the prior facility. This has been such a blessing. We continue to be impressed by the attentiveness and care the entire staff shows, regardless of their position everyone seems to make sure all are properly cared for and create the family atmosphere.

This place is the best! They take awesome care of my dad. He always has stuff to do. The entire staff treats him like family. Dad really feels at home and I'm happy knowing he is in a good place where he can enjoy life and be well taken care of. Thank you all for being there and taking such great care of Dad.

Fantastic place, and the staff have been very friendly and helpful. They seem like they're always on top of things with Dad's care needs, and they always get in touch with us immediately if any issues or problems come up.There are always fun activities going on and many opportunities for Dad to socialize and get to know people. He can go down and eat dinner and enjoy his meal and talk with people. So much for him to do or he can sit quietly and just enjoy the scenery around him.

I can't say enough positive things about Manorhouse in Knoxville, TN. My mother absolutely loves it there. She enjoys all of the activities, especially the music. Manorhouse has such a wonderful sense of family among the residents and staff. The cheery atmosphere keeps smiles on the faces of the residents when doing activities. Has a good homey feel and everyone looks happy and well cared for. I could not be more pleased with the level of care my loved one is receiving.

It was a difficult decision to move my grandmother to an assisted living, however, the staff are so friendly, caring, responsive to any questions or concerns we may have they have made and continue to do such an amazing job helping my grandmother feel at home. She loves it there, and we love the care and compassion she receives. It's a wonderful feeling knowing she is in such capable hands and with all of the wonderful activities she is "living" and not just existing.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I thought that this was a very nice looking place, overall! The staff all seemed very friendly, and the facility was clean and well kept. I wasn't as impressed with the food here, compared to other communities I had seen in the area.

In mid 2010 my brother and I knew it was time for our parents, Marion and Bill, then in their mid eighties, to live closer to me and to move into an assisted living facility. I didn't know where to begin looking. Word of mouth from two close friends drew us to Manorhouse. Naturally I had to check out other places, but I kept coming back to Manorhouse. It just had that homey feel we were looking for. In October, 2010, my parents moved into a lovely apartment with a kitchenette. I positioned the furniture around the window so they could watch the sunset like at their old home in VA. It was important to me and to them to be able to continue their lifestyle with as little change as possible. Being outdoor people, Mom and Dad love strolling thru the courtyard. The flowers, birds and sometimes someone's little kitty helps to keep us all in touch with Mother Earth and Gods creations. The musical entertainment gets the feet tapping and the hands clapping. Mom loves to get dressed up for Frank and Jerry because they "sing to her only", lol. Exercise, cards and fun daily activities helps to keep their minds sharp. We all sleep peacefully knowing my parents are happy, safe and respectfully cared for. My Dad passed away last October and thankfully my Mom continues to thrive. I believe the kind friends, staff and daily activities play a large part with her recovery. I have been a volunteer at Manorhouse for the past four years and I can honestly say I love it! It's like coming home to family the minute I walk in the door. Laughing with the residents and staff is a great way to boost those feel good endorphins for everyone. There is a great professional chemistry between all the Managers which is important. It is a well run, clean facility with emphasis on respect and care for the residents. I could go on forever listing all the attributes of Manorhouse. If I can help at all with your decision making concerning your loved one, please don't hesitate to contact me. They know me at the front desk! Blessings.

My mother used to live here but it was getting too expensive so we moved her. She had a private room which was nice but she just could not afford to stay there. I thought the care was pretty good and they seemed to have more entertainment that she could be come involved in - maybe not participate but at least watch. They had singing groups come in. Because she was in memory care I had to be there too, to take her to the entertainment, but I didn't mind that. We were happier there but the cost just became too much.

I moved out to be closer to my daughter. Manorhouse was institutional and they had trouble with their call lights and call systems. They may have changed it now so it goes to a computer that someone is watching. I fell in my bathroom and I pulled my thing in the bathroom but it didn't get to anyone. It went up through corporate and that's up in Virginia so to get any feedback through the system was difficult. Their problems with the food is they have two seatings. They cooked all the food, did the one seating and by the time the second seating came the food was not fresh and they didn't have enough time to clear plates between seatings. That was a difficulty for me there.

My mom was there for almost 10 years. It's a very nice facility too but when she got into the Alzheimer's she had trouble with having roommates. She was doing really good on the assisted living side but she didn't have a roommate when she was over there. To put her in a private room in that part of the facility was going to be about $1200 a month higher than what another place was charging. We were really disappointed at having to move her.

It was okay. We didn't like the way the hallways were for the rooms. You had the major hallway and then you had these little offshoots and they were just dark. It felt kind of claustrophobic to us. I know that's not a good reason for not liking a place but I know that mother would not have liked that the rooms were not as bright. This was our least favorite of the four places we saw.

A Place for Mom has scored StoryPoint Knoxville West 9.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
