We had a terrible experience with Silverleaf. The full chef cooked meals are takeout from another restaurant and the cafeteria locks the yogurt after breakfast. I felt like everything they sold me on when my father first moved here was a lie. Go check it out before you place a loved one here.

The Activity Director was more than happy to give us a tour and topic about the day-to-day events. [Name removed] delivers lunch with a posted menu. Probably better than what mom is eating now on her own. We met some of the residents that seemed to be happy.

[Name removed] (I believe the general manager) treated me horribly. At first he was very gracious, but full of [language removed]. There had been a flood in the building, so my moving in was delayed. When the movers wanted to enter, he told me my condition (MS) was too much for them to handle. He was aware of my needs, yet he couldn't be honest. DEAL WITH HIM AT YOUR OWN RISK!

As a local home-owner, I am personally aware that this building has been “under refurbishment” for at least four years. This building is a run-down motel on an Atlanta interstate highway (I-285 at Buford Hwy). This business is BOTH a franchise from Clarion Motels AND a senior living facility. There are 3 signs, 2 signs say “Clarion,” and 1 sign says “Silver Leaf Senior Living.” This business still offers motel rooms to complete strangers on the Clarion Motel website. But, there are only a few (less than four) unfortunate senior citizens roaming around the parking lot, because very few travelers would dare to stay overnight. This business is a bizarre mix of scary, run-down motel; occasional overnight truckers and constant 12-lane highway noise; never-ending uncompleted construction; and now...unlucky seniors! Stay Away!

Since looking into senior living and experiencing some other options this is the best place and experience I have found. There is plenty of space, it is very clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have been at Silverleaf for 3 months now and am still very happy.

I can't believe you allow this place to be listed. The fact that you do makes me wonder if you visit places. If not, why would I continue to use "A Place for Mom"?

Response from Silverleaf Senior Living
October 11, 2018Please feel free to address any concerns as a citizen of the community, or spend time learning what all is actually in place now.
They have yet to convert or renovate anything. I have a friend living there and no one cleans her room. The conditions are deplorable. She fell and called for help and no one would assist her. Who would move someone into a hotel that is supposed to be converted into a senior living facility rather than wait until it is actually converted and legit. She has been there for months and nothing has changed thus far.

Response from Silverleaf Senior Living
October 11, 2018This client and review was not a true picture of work completed, and the resident was helped to transition in within a short time-frame. We have made lots of progress since and clients are doing well.
This community is brand new in the sense that it’s being converted from a hotel into an assisted living facility. Part of the building still operates as a hotel while it’s being converted and so far there only 3 residents. There aren’t many people that work here yet, but the staff that does work here are good. They haven’t started serving food yet either. The owner is going to hire a chef but wants to wait for more residents to move in, so for now we have small kitchen appliances available to us. They’re renovating the rooms, too, so those will include kitchenettes and a sink. There is an activity center with games and they’ll be bringing on a teacher that will come and do the activities with us, but for now we all just sort of hang out in our rooms. It isn’t a bad place to live, they’re just in the middle of getting started.
