Rockbrook Assisted Living and Memory Care

I have had nothing but a great experience with the staff, the follow up are great the communication in great.

Rockbrook Memory Care is a lovely facility, it's small and charming. However, they are very SHORT STAFFED and the kitchen staff is practically non-existent. The Caregivers usually double as the "Cook" for meals. When it's really bad, they get donuts or pizza for meals because there is NO COOK. We picked Rockbook Memory Care for our 91 year old Mother because it was clean and from all appearances, a very nice looking facility. But looks can be deceiving. Bottom-line, Rockbrook is a good value for the money, they were the most reasonably priced Memory Care facility we found. But sometimes, you get what you pay for too!

What stuck out most about Rockbrook initially when we were first looking was the cleanliness of the facility! That struck me most. My friend [name removed] praised the meals. He was a picky eater, so that was very important. The room sizes and amenities offered were just fine.

I was only there a few times to see my friend [name removed] From what I observed there - the people were kind, attentive and friendly - it always seemed clean - not sure about the physical therapy aspect - initially saw person very kindly coaxing [name removed] to stand up with assistance without having slip resistant socks on - on tile floor - she did stand / another time a physical therapy company came but did not want to wake her and said would come back - I wondered how often she received physical therapy knowing several factors can be involved / there was always an atmosphere of calmness in the place and the residents I observed seemed settled / overall I was pleased with what I observed, my only concern was concerning the physical therapy; thank you for asking

Friendly, clean, good food, and treatment of everyone with dignity.

Although it is an older facility, it feels more like a home. As my mom says, it is not just a home it's like family.For me location, cleanliness and a caring staff community was most important... I found the needle in the haystack. Not only did they get my mom the help she needed, they helped me through the process. I know I can count on the staff for great care and keeping me informed.

Staff shortage and no or little activities for residents. Food is not tasteful with limited menu options. Place may smell good at times but it is not clean.We selected this place because there was no wait list and the location was good for my family. The staff were friendly and caring.

If I could give more stars I would. Before visiting Rockbrook I had spent several months looking online at different places that offered assisted living and memory care. After visiting several facilities in person, I knew within a few minutes that Rockbrook was the home where my mother would be well cared for and looked after the way she needed to be. The young lady that greeted us is a wonderful representation of the warmth and caring feeling that is found throughout the facilities. Her thoughtfulness and caring demeanor with my mother and her reassurance and knowledge of the process that both my mother and I would go through made this transition so much easier for me. The personal interaction between the caregivers, nursing staff, nutritionist, even the custodians and maintenance with the residents is more like a family which helps make Rockbrook a true home. After a month, I am confident that I have found the absolutely best home and trained family to take care of my mother.

They are understaffed, and need more help. The nurses are top notch. One of the cooks is okay, the other cook needs serious help. The food needs to be improved, and they need more nutritional options for the residents. They make my loved one feel special, and they are friendly. They just hired a new person for the activities, who is always planning things.

Really happy with them toured several others happy with our choice. Atmosphere is calm quiet and safe. Has the freedom of assisted living with the memory care safety. Was a good fit. Would recommend overall good community. Friendly, clean and safe.

Rockbroook is a lovely facility. It is very homey and feels like you are stepping into a gorgeous residence, it is absolutely beautiful. It really is like being at home, it does not have an institutional feel at all like some others, it is very comforting and cozy. Out of all of the places she has been in and I have seen, this is definitely the nicest. Caregiver [name removed] is especially good. My 90 year old mother absolutely adores him. Overall I would recommend this facility to others looking.

Rockbrook was really great. They did everything they could to work with us. When we needed a place immediately, they made exceptions, opened their doors wide, and made a room for our loved one within a few hours. They also worked with us as far as fees and things like that. They were taking good care of her and doing things the things they should for her - keeping her hygiene up, trying to keep her brain stimulated the best they could. And they would let us know if she wasn't eating or if she was having any other issues. It was a good place.

Pets are not allowed to reside at Rockbrook

Overall the community is ok. They had staffing concerns and there was a lot of turnover. The community was kept neat and clean and the care services were good. I would recommend based on the level of memory care needed.

This community is great and we couldn't be more happy with them. You can definitely feel comfortable taking your loved one to Rockbrook. You will know the staff is wonderful, loving and very friendly with the families. They will take great care of your loved one. I know my mom is well taken care of, and am able to trust the staff.

My stepfather moved to Rockbrook in April and is slowly adjusting to his new living arrangements. The facility is very clean and the staff have been so friendly and appear to really care about the residence there. This facility has a smaller, more intimate feel than the other facilities we visited which appealed to us. There are about 12-15 residence assigned to each quadrant with 3-4 workers present at all times- a good ratio. I think they try to group residence with others who are at similar stages of memory loss but there is still a wide range of capabilities present which has been hard for my stepdad to adjust to. A bed, dresser and chair were furnished in the single room with a shared bathroom (toilet/sink only) which made moving less stressful. A shower room in each quadrant allows for assisted bathing. There have been a few incidents - lost eye-glasses, clothes missing, and a problem with the exit alarm but overall these have been addressed to our satisfaction. Visiting often and open communication are the key to these types of incidents in any facility. At first my stepdad did not like the food but we have chalked that up to stress as he now eats almost everything. I have witnessed the typical activities you would expect, like live music and trivia games with the residence. So far, a good experience all things considered. Would recommend.

Very well organized and the staff was caring and supplied all the information I needed. Very affordable and I really appreciate the price to include all care. I would consider this place for my Dad.

I really liked this community - it's dementia patient specific and I think it might be an option for my mom.

Finding a community for my husband has been emotionally difficult for our family. He needed a memory care community who could care for him with his Alzheimer's behaviors and administer all his medications including sliding scale insulin. Arbor House was highly recommended. AH specializes in memory care and has a unique layout with their residents divided into four large clean neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has its own staff of skilled care-friends who care for all the physical needs of their residents with dignity, kindness,and loving attention. Families are always welcomed and greeted cheerfully. My husband has been at AH for 2 months now. Transition from home care has been hard, but the Executive Director, Head Nurse, Engagement Director and all the Carefriends have held our hands and hearts through it all. I would also highly recommend this community to other families.
