Meals are consistently 15 to 35 minutes late, too salty at times and monochromatic

On Nextdoor it was reported that no staff was on duty Sunday morning[date removed] except the cook. No one responded to phone calls. 911 had to be called. A couple of patients had to be transported to the hospital. The director and 2 staff showed up at 11 AM. If you think this is ok, then use this facility.

Please do your research before placing your loved one here. Yes it’s cheap but not worth the heartache and stress you and your loved one will endure. The state and APS has been made aware of the situation at this facility.

Redbud has not had an full time Executive Director or nurse for several months. They finally have some great care staff in place but they are still short staffed with some having to work double shifts on a regular basis. The head chef does not do a good job with the menu and pairings and his food prep is subpar. They do have one chef that really tries to prepare a good meal for the residence but is restricted because of the menu choices by head chef. I am not there for all three meals but I do stop by every evening so I do see their dinner daily and do take my mom food on days that I know she will not eat what's prepared. Redbud could be a really great little community if they could get the right leadership in place. It is perfect for mom because of the size and number of residents.

I would recommend they look elsewhere. They have not been good. It started out good but they changed ownership and everything went bad.

The staff are very nice and treat my Mom and our family well. Sometimes short handed in weekends, but seem to meet her needs. The place is a little older, but they keep it clean. The move in process went smoothly with help from the staff. Meals are okay. They were a lot worse for a higher price at her previous place. They have quite a few activities, but my Mom does not participate in most. I would recommend, especially for the price.

They do a lot of activities with the residents, including outings. They have an excellent activities coordinator and head nurse that both communicate via text well. Mom is happy there. The only thing I don't like is that the door is not locked all of the time, but... also when it is, it's hard to get someone to come and let you in.

The people are great. I know he's in good hands. I like how they still have independence by having their own apt like space. I wish he'd get out of his room some more to get in some social and exercise. He would say he'd like better food.

The staff there are extremely caring. They go out of their way to see that the residence get what they need, they are quick to speak to them in the halls and in the dining room. The Director and nurses will even work on a weekend or overnight if needed to be sure the residents are cared for. It is clean, and the residents have snacks and coffee and tea and sometimes flavored waters available. Family is encouraged to visit, have lunch and of course to be there for family night. The more we visited the more we became comfortable and realized that my mom isn't just another patient, although I realize that all of their residents are treated as if they were family. We were so impressed with [name removed], the Director, and [name removed], the lead nurse. We met the housekeeper, [name removed], who comes by to check on my mom daily. We were encouraged to walk around and meet people, which let us to meet [name removed] who plans a lot of the events and [name removed], a resident who is kind of like the mayor. They are struggling in the dining room only with the cooking. They are training two new cooks who seem to be doing really well so I hope that that takes care of the issue.

The staff is friendly. The food really needs improvement. That is hands down the main complaint. We have to spend money on eating out.

I would say I am confident my moms safe and assisted as needed and my experience has been good. I would not say great but it has been good at this point. The biggest issue is staffing and I am sure it's that way at a lot of communities. The reason I picked Redbud was the size, cost, and I really liked the previous director but she was gone before mom moved into the community. Mom also said this was her favorite of the two I took her to visit.

Our family had an in person tour with Redbud Place and overall we thought the tour experience and the community was nice, but it just wasn't going to be the best fit for our loved one.
Under new Administrator who formerly held the Nurse position there. Very knowledgeable and compassionate. The care givers are sweet and eager to please or help with the smallest requests. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend Redbud Place to other families.

The social activities are great, they have different things like painting classes, they play bingo and do puzzles. They take the residents out on outings to Walmart, Target Dollar Tree, etc. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend Redbud Place to other families, our loved one seems very happy there.

The facility is old and in need of repair, despite the significant rates charged. It's difficult getting updates unless you pursue the staff and hope they call you back. They seem very disorganized, and perhaps its due to staff turnover.

Response from Redbud Place
April 11, 2023Hi, thank you for the feedback. We’re disappointed to see this, and if you have any details to share, feel free to give us a call at 1-844-365-4826 so we can better understand. Thank you again! – Team Enlivant
They encourage families to visit and participate in lunch or activities. And thank God, they have an "Age in place" philosophy. That means my mom can stay in a place she feels cared for and safe, all the way to end of life. When hospice came in, it was a smooth transition into joint care. [name removed] truly shows compassion and concern for every resident and expects the same from all her staff.

A Place for Mom has scored Redbud Place 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
