Comments- very challenging front desk experience. Not friendly. Key staff are non responsive generally when any inquiries made. Generally, most care givers were pleasant. The experience for memory care follows the same mundane schedule each day. For memory care assisted living, my mother had very little direct oversight. She had fallen probably a half dozen to a dozen times. The last got her expelled. Not a pleasant journey. My mid grades are because I estimate they provide a median care service. Our experience sounds good. Service varied with shift, management changes, and personnel. Has room to improve

I would recommend them. I think they are understaffed right now that is causing some issues but I also think they are doing their best.

I would recommend the facility to others especially for members care. It has a small number of residents. It's a nice small place that is going through the process of new owner, staff and renovations. Place is very clean, one staff could use an attitude check, the meals are not up to par in my opinion for memory care; too many cold sandwiches.

You get what you pay for... this facility should be shut down. They fraudulently placed my father in memory care when he didn't need it and fought me all the way to have him back in assisted living. They charged me an additional $[removed]/month while he was in memory care when his Dr said he shouldn't be there and did so for 3 months while I figured out how to get him out. I later found out this facility was under investigation by the state while all of this was going on.

I would say the staff is more professional. They answer the phone when I call. Every unannounced visit showed professional care across the board. Your organization found it for me.

Response from Proveer at Heritage Woods
November 14, 2023Thank you for your kind words! We are grateful for our residents, staff and family members.
We toured with Proveer at Heritage Woods and we thought the rooms small and I didn't like most of the residents doors open as walking down the hall among a few other but just not a fit for us! But it definitely might be a good place for others.
Very nice people at Proveer. They don't communicate as well as they used to. I'm hoping it's just the change over in management. We moved mom there in December, and then in February Proveer took over. The facility itself is top notch.

I would suggest better trained staff and more staff to be able to monitor the residents specifically on the memory care side where my mom was at. They did not interact with her as I thought they would. The facility is lovely and maintenance staff keep it in good shape. Also food quality and the delivery method for the memory care side could be much improved. This facility has potential but the CNA staff needs improvement. If the patient is independent and only needs reminders then it would be fine.

I toured this facility and it was good. It was clean and the staff was nice. We ended up choosing another facility because they had an opening sooner, but this one was very nice.
I would highly recommend SummerHouse Heritage Woods. I like everything about it, per my above ratings. The staff are very friendly, and they look after my loved one and pamper him. He loves the food and won't even miss a meal to come eat with me.

They could have more of a variety with their activities, but we would still recommend this community to others. =

When we started the facility was Elmcroft still but it changed to SummerHouse. They came out and talked to my loved one and it seemed like it would be a good fit. I thought it would get her out of her room and make her socialize with others, but she has not done that yet. I think it would be great if the staff could try to encourage her to get out a little bit more. I would recommend them to other families looking and I already have to some friends of ours.

I can sleep at night knowing that my loved one is taken care of. As someone who take care of my loved one for a long time beforehand, having a place you can trust to care for them like you would really matters.

The sales director on our initial tour was very nice and good to work with, and the rooms available for the residents are spacious and well appointed. Right now due to covid and the restrictions the activities are still somewhat limited, but they are slowly starting to bring back more and more

We had a good tour experience with SummerHouse. The rooms were a good size, but the overall facility itself was smaller and we were looking for something bigger. It was just not the right fit.
I do not think I would recommend this community. The staff are friendly however, it does not seem like they are as engaged with the residents as I would like. There are not many activities for them to do at all. I have also asked for my mothers closet doors to be fixed and it still has not been fixed yet They told me to buy a curtain and use that but that is not what I'm paying for.

A Place for Mom has scored Proveer at Heritage Woods 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
