The set up of the front desk made it easy to visit when I wanted. Other facilities I visited it was hard to come and go. Poets walk was secure. Room size was a very nice size. Had room for bed, tv dresser and chair with room to move. Light in room was very good also. Bathroom was set up well and large. The little hall in room gave privacy from open door

We had a terrible experience with the administration. They were bathing my fathers in cold water. There was no hot water in his room for many days. We had a hard time with communication and many verbal promises at signing turned out to be just puffing. When dad's health went to the worst and had to be hospitalized the facility would not accept him back for hospice care. I have a lot more to say on this more than texting will allow. Maybe things have changed since Oct 2021. It all looked good when we signed up. But as I said. Once we were in promises were not for-filled.

They were attentive and encouraged him to be social but allowed him some alone time also. Nurses were great keeping us informed about meds and any concerns. It was so friendly and easy to visit dad in Poets Walk. When dad came home to be with us his last days they called to check in on him. We feel he was well taken care of.

July 11, 2023Thank you so much for your positive review of our community. We appreciate it very much. Sincerely!
I give Poets Walk a 5 for all the categories above. My Dad was on his deathbed and probably had a few months left. He was not eating and lost about 25 lbs over a 5-6 month period. He was so weak he couldn't walk and would slump down when sitting. He's been at PW for about 4 months. He's gained about 12-13 lbs, walks all over the place, and is very active at PW. He's on a schedule and everyone at PW knows him and treats him like family. Great place.

When I toured Poet's Walk San Antonino I was greeted with friendly staff, from reception to workers inside and outside, are very friendly and polite. Everyone talks to guests and residents. Poet's walk was bright and clean, with very happy residents. Another loved one was at Poet's Walk a while ago and he was so very well taken care of . My loved did pass away, but during his stay at Poet's he was well cared for.

October 25, 2023Thank you for sharing your positive experiences with Poet's Walk San Antonio. It's heartwarming to hear that you encountered friendly and polite staff during your tour and that the community was bright and clean. Additionally, it's reassuring to know that your loved one received excellent care while at Poet's Walk. Your feedback highlights the importance of providing a warm and welcoming environment for residents and their families, and it's clear that Poet's Walk has been successful in this regard. We're sorry for your loss and appreciate your kind words about the care your loved one received during their stay.
Being out of state, we appreciate the fact that our loved one is getting good care, someone comes to help him bathe and shave and that is something he is really appreciating. They have a lot of activities going on, they are doing so well with encouraging the residents and our loved one to get involved and he is loving it all. However, they have had a lot of turnover rate so something are lacking, the executive director has been replaced multiple times. They have a lot been without a billing person for months. We do appreciate though how the new director has started family care meetings to keep everyone updated on what is going on.

March 28, 2022Thank you so much for the time you took to leave us a detailed review. We appreciate your positive feedback and support.
They are very professional at this community. The pricing is good and the people that work here I can tell that they care a lot. They have activities like bingo, chair work outs, sing alongs, bowling, walks around the premises and more for the residents to do to stay busy in the community. The staff care a lot about the residents. They recently had a new director and then another new one ended up showing up I am just getting used to the new director but all of the other staff are the same and great with the residents.

Poet's Walk is such an amazing facility. I would give the staff higher than a 5 if I could, they are wonderful. They are extremely cautious and proactive at this point in time because of covid. Everyone who comes in has to fill out a questionnaire, have a covid check, and wear a mask. They are trying to keep residents as safe as possible. I would highly recommend to others looking.

February 7, 2022Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate the 5 Star Review and hope it helps other families looking for memory care in San Antonio, TX.
The communication is a big negative 5, they have horrible communication. They do not return any calls which is a huge deal with your trying to reach them in regards to your loved ones care. The relationship at the beginning was great but it was later just filled with empty promises. Nothing but a nightmare and just disappointed.

August 17, 2021Dear Janice, Thank you so much for your positive feedback. We appreciate the time you took to review our community.
Some of the care takers were out of this world, and some were not. We were dissatisfied with those but extremely satisfied with others. Our loved one did not really enjoy the food they served, but the activities were great. The people in charge of the activities were wonderful, they truly made an effort to come to our loved ones room to visit and encourage her to participate in the activities. If she did not want to participate they would do one on one activities with her. The activities director assistants; were absolutely wonderful.
