I helped move my dad into here in August. All staff has been friendly and extremely helpful. He has been enjoying the activities, dinners, weekly cleaning, staff, other people who live there. I have heard no complaints from him at all. I would recommend this to retired people looking for a smaller apartment size because of the activities, weekly shopping trips and dinners.... Read more

PVR has a great atmosphere of support, care, and fun! Residents are welcomed and encouraged to participate in numerous activities. Working in numerous retirement programs, PVR surpasses expectations with programs, staff, and opportunities for residents. I look forward to retirement there myself.

It was the warm smiles and winning smiles that came with the reception that let me know I had found the right place to call home. Everyone was helpful and welcoming, showing me the ropes. Dinner schedules, social hour, and trying to see that everyone is thought of and made welcomed. I couldn’t have asked for more. After living here four months I consider the residents to be a family. We all look out after each other and are there for each other.

My parents were residents for 5+ years until they recently moved to a higher level of care. Their experience and the experience of our family with Pleasant View Retirement was outstanding! The staff members are caring, kind and accommodating, the activities are varied and fun for different abilities, and the food is wonderful with a variety of options available daily. The facilities are well kept with very nice grounds for walking or sitting outside to enjoy the weather. On top of that the rent is reasonable and includes dinner each day. We highly recommend Pleasant View Retirement community for independent living!

I wasn't there that long, only about 8 weeks, the staff was more than friendly and very helpful. The resident that I met were very nice, polite ,and friendly. Most residents participate in what the community has to offer, exercise class, card games, movies and going out to different restaurants etc. I would recommend it if you are especially alone.

Since I moved here in [date removed], I've been amazed at the sense of community Pleasant View has to offer. I've always felt welcome here. There are many opportunities to get to know the residents through activities at whatever pace feels good. Even though I live in one of the small apartments, I can enjoy all the common areas, as well as the beautiful grounds. I love it here!

My mother-in-law lived at Pleasant View Retirement for 2 years. The staff did everything they could to welcome her and help her adjust to this new living situation. They were also very responsive and helpful to me and my husband with any questions or concerns we may have had. The facility is lovely and gracious, from the well equipped library to the inviting sun porch, to the beautiful living room complete with cozy fireplace, to the pleasant dining room with its tablecloths and cloth napkins, and much more! A large variety of activities and outings are available to take advantage of if a resident so desires. We highly recommend it!

My Mom loves living at PVR (almost 2 years). After needing Assisted Living for the better half of a year, she "graduated" into Independent Retirement Community status. The staff at Pleasant View Retirement welcomed her with open arms and reassurance for her transition. They made sure she had people to connect with right away. After a few short weeks, Mom felt like she was part of a community and was making friends. She participates in at least one social activity a day (sometimes more) and can't wait to show me the monthly calendar as soon as it comes out. There is a good variety of both in-house and off property activates for residents to pick from. She said to me a few months ago, "I feel cared about at PVR (not cared FOR, like at Assisted Living), and because of that I have a sense of worth and the confidence to be me." I couldn't ask for more! Knowing that Mom has people who care ABOUT her and genuinely want her to be the best she can... whatever that looks like for HER.

My mother was a resident of Pleasant View Retirement for approximately three years. She absolutely loved it there. She found the staff very pleasant, caring, and friendly. She always spoke fondly to me about them. The activities the facility provided was outstanding. She enjoyed the meals that were provided. The atmosphere all around was very pleasant and enjoyable for my mom.

Pleasant View Retirement is a unique independent senior living facility. The apartments are comfortable and modern, inside this historic building that has the feeling of the Victorian luxury of the past. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with areas to walk or just sit and relax. Though an independent senior living facility, extra services and benefits are included; housekeeping, dinner in the dining room each day, transportation to appointments when needed, along with many fun activities to participate in. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and they go the extra mile. My family member living there is very happy and all the residents I have seen appear to enjoy living there as well. It's definitely a place to consider when looking for a senior apartment in Concord, and I am very glad my family member is living there!

I visited 11 different care facilities for my parents before seeing and opting for Pleasant View Retirement, a facility for ”independent living” but which welcomes outside caregivers, family members, physical therapists, or any service provider who would offer services to the elderly in their own home. We chose it on a trial basis first, furnishings provided, before moving my parents permanently. We appreciated that, unlike many other options, the rooms were larger in this older historic Estate, and their finances were not tied up by the facility into the future. Covid lockdown was well-managed by previous corporate owner,, which put in place the protocol still in use. An activities calendar is issued monthly. Gym, Hair salon, pool table and other amenities. Lunch is offered cafe style on weekdays. Dinners are multi-course and chosen from menus which are issued to residents. Great access to Concord Hospital and medical offices literally across the street. Car service available.

The food has been a 5+, it is VERY good. The meals are chef prepared and we get a menu to choose from. We were able to bring our little dog which was a big plus - they are a pet friendly facility. Our apartment is very big and bright. We have 12 windows just in the living room, so we get a lot of natural light. I would recommend Pleasant View Retirement to others.

This is a very nice place and very clean everything is just really great. This is a wonderful place to be. They have activities like card games, bingo games, scrabble tournaments, table with puzzles set up all the time and a game room to play cards. They also go out a lot to local site and parks to go on walks and to small museums. We also took a trip up mount Washington.

My dad is always raving about the food and about how nice everybody is. They've gone on a couple of outings, which were enjoyable. And the residents seem happy with the activities that hey offer. The apartments are kind of small, so it's a big change and adjustment no matter what, making the transition into independent living. But overall I think it's a good value for the cost.

Very favorable opinion based on one tour (so far). My guide greeted everyone we met by first name, and they clearly liked her. The building has character, including variations in room size & shape. I was told that they do offer recycling. And unlike other places I've visited in the area, (a) there's no extra charge for a cat, and (b) there's storage available (in the basement).

All is well for my brother since his move to this community. This community has worked out well for him, and his needs. The experience is going well for him in this community. I'am satisfied with his move to this community. Everything has worked out great.

A generally favorable impression, (but too far from my son in Grantham), I think. The only (slight) negative was being kept waiting 15 minutes after the supposed 11am appointment for the tour to start.

A Place for Mom has scored Pleasant View Retirement 9.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
