The lady who worked with me was awesome. She was engaging, personable and honest. The facility itself does not meet my needs. The building and infrastructure are old and tired. Window seals were broken so windows were cloudy. The rugs were clean but stained (in places) and outdated. The whole building needs a major renovation. I am also looking for an independent living option which they did not offer. I wanted full kitchen and laundry in the room.

We moved my loved one out about 6 months ago. There were two instances where they failed to respond to my dad's beeper request during a health emergency. There is no accountability and no follow up. No peace of mind for family.

May 29, 2024We apologize that your dad’s experience is not what we all had hoped. We are providing this information as context so that others reading this may understand what happened and why it will not happen in the future. This was during a time when the community phone systems were dropping and disconnecting calls. This system has been completely replaced. Secondly, our pendant alerts (beeper) were on back-order, and we were using a back-up “pendant system” which has now also been fixed. At the time, we addressed the issue by giving your dad two pendants and adding personal two-hour checks. Our communication systems are fully reliable and will not be an issue for future families.
We found Pacifica Sterling to be the best value in the area. The move-in was smooth and easy. The community is small; staff and residents show genuine care for each other. The facility is not new, but is clean and will maintained. The planned meals vary in style from day to day and quality is always good. Residents have options if the planned menu is not to their liking. There is always something happening; musical performances, games, exercise and shopping opportunities. Levels of care has been adjusted (up and down) as Mom's needs have changed. We feel lucky to have found this place for Mom.

Only issue we had all year was related to details with medication management. My MIL has meds given 5-6 times/day. However they addressed all of my concerns and did their best to make some changes. The staff are also great with sharing information and follow through. The meals and dining - great span of time frames. And regular menu options always available. MIL complained some about not having many fresh vegetables and salads? She loved all of their deserts. Hard to find any options for what she paid which was [fee removed] which included her level of care for medication management. She just had a studio room, but she had everything she needed.

They are great, but very busy. Over communicate. Don't wait for them to get back to you. There are also people there who have done very interesting DC things, although that is of course specific to this one location. It seems like the residents of the community are a very interesting mix of people (a few still work, for instance) which I thought was a good reflection on Pacifica and a nice experience for my Mom.

I had a terrific visit with Sales Director[name removed]. She went above and beyond with her insights, recommendations, and additional resources. She's very adept in leveraging her professional experiences to guide others forward. She rightly referred to herself as more of a councilor than sales person. I left feeling upbeat and better informed as I navigate through arrangements for my mother.

EVERYONE that works at Pacifica are there because they love theatre they do. The sales director is resourceful yet extremely kind and careful while assisting us with making the best decisions for our uncle. All of the directors and Pacifica staff goes above and beyond to ensure that our uncle’s needs are continually met and highly quality care is always delivered. Pacifica is professional and strongly adheres to State/Federal laws and regulations. We’ve experienced Pacifica’s efforts to keep our uncle’s safety a priority and their endless advocacy for him. He has onsite physicians, nurses and cnas, to managed all of his medications and medical appointments. Our uncle can attend church service, Bible study and so many other activities of daily living at Pacifica. Our uncle LOVES the chef cooked menu, restaurant style dining room and can order room service. He’s happy to have extra support w/out minimizing his independence along his life journey. Our uncle now has a place to call home.

I visited Pacifica for a tour and enjoyed my visit. I didn't experience everything in the survey, but had no problem seeing my mother living in a place like this. [name removed] was a welcoming host and answered all my questions. She reached out to others for answers where needed.

Overall very happy she is there. She fell about a month ago while living there. She needed stitches in her head and broke her hip. They made sure to let me know she fell and where they took her by ambulance. They also worked with the inpatient rehab facility she went to after hip surgery to be sure she was okay to go back to Pacifica. Comments: #6 - Activities - gave rating of 3 since they do not have many activities my mom feels comfortable participating in. She is legally blind and she sometimes struggles with some activities since she doesn't see well.

We would rate them as a five in all the categories except Quality of Care. The specific concern under quality of care has only to do with medication management. It has been a lot of work on the families and to get everything straight and worked out and still issues. Continue to come up she is paying for that additional service. There was a hire of a new resident services Director and she has been very communicative and we've been trying to work through the issues.

July 13, 2023Thank you for caring enough to tell us of your concerns. Medications management can be an issue when a resident moves into a community and we may not have all the information or if a resident’s PCP is outside of our network. Right now, with the new Resident Services Director, we feel that our staffing is appropriate and stable so that these hiccups will not be a problem. It takes a village to care for the most vulnerable so we are grateful to the families who are involved with us. Please feel free to keep the executive director apprised of any concerns.
Let me just start off by me saying the staff here is great very welcoming, very polite, and when come to explaining the way of living here at Pacifica would be wonderful i can see they answer all our questions and show all the good perks of living here,like a movie room game room a study room also where assistance living and independent living are together make me feel where everyone is treated the same this is the place I will put my uncle to live out his life he will be close to family and we can visit just about anytime we would like ,I want to give a shout out to [name removed] I really appreciate her looking out for me and my family for information she gave us it help us out alot she is the best she ,really help my process easy and made me and my family relax and feel good about this place

The management team hasn't been responsive to the family's communication and follow up has been a struggle. There is a good value for what you get for the money. The food seems to be delivered cold, they could use more options, and my loved one doesn't care for the meals, other than breakfast. The community is able to provide some light housekeeping, and laundry for linens and this is a scaled pricing.

March 15, 2023For those who plan to tour our community, we would like to clarify that this review doesn’t accurately reflect our services and amenities. We do not have scaled pricing for laundry and housekeeping services. Dining for our Assisted Living residents is table service and not delivered. We would prefer that dietary preferences be communicated to our staff rather than a resident miss a meal. And, we are happy to announce that our central phone system will be replaced and upgraded within the next month for an overall improvement in communications.
Our initial experience was great. The move in was smooth, the staff were wonderful and the grounds are beautiful. It has been quite adequate for our loved ones needs. There has been a change in ownership in the last couple of years and that is starting to trickle down. They are more strict on the budget and cutting peoples hours. It is an amazing value for those looking for a lower budget.
