5 stars for all of them! They are really outstanding. They are very responsive to the needs of the residents. For the memory care unit - they only take 25 people...so the staff to resident ratio is good. That was honestly the biggest factor for us when looking at places initially.

I moved my mother to Waltonwood from a previous community, and she is thriving there. She participates in their programs and solves problems independently. The staff was very pleasant and answered all questions. They even invited us to lunch to sample the dinning facility. The construction, furniture and features were very contemporary. The facility was very clean and open with a lot of lighting from the outside. The staff is very friendly. However, there are still some things that are outstanding that needs to be done to complete my mothers move in. My mother is independent. Food service is very good. I enjoy dinning with my mother at Waltonwood. There's a lot of activities at Waltonwood. My mother is engaging with the community to attend concerts, fitness programs, and games. A little expensive, but worth it.

The food there is terrible and no choices for diabetics. They always run out of food, leaves no choices to eat. They have lack of caretakers, one floor has 28 patients with one caretaker for all of them. They take 25 to 40 minutes to assist the patient who can't walk to go to the bathroom. They mistreat the patients by watching them fall to the floor with no assistance. But if you complain you will get punished. This is so sad that we treat people like this, when they can't take care of themselves. You pay $[removed] a month and get no care. Not a good place for your family members.

I was looking for a place that had independent living and assisted living/memory care. Waltonwood was perfect for my parents and they absolutely love it! Great food, activities, environment, location! Highly recommend Waltonwood.

Everyone here is very friendly and caring. Also the facility is a good size. Not too big. The food is not bad and you can always get off menu items such as steak hamburger chicken hotdogs. I wish it was a bit more nutritional.

They were great about letting us use respite care as a way to 'try out' assisted living. I think being on the lowest floor makes it a little harder to get to know people or get reminded about activities. I think it would be a really great choice for a lot of people.

I was a resident of Waltonwood for 2 months in 2023 and as it turned out, that was 2 months too long. Throughout my stay, I experienced numerous examples of subpar service and care along with inept administrators. Waltonwood’s three administrators see nothing, hear nothing, and know nothing. While there were times the aides were helpful, unfortunately, this was not the norm. There were multiple occasions when a call for assistance (ex. to transfer from my wheelchair, attend to personal needs, to assist after I took a fall) took over 20 minutes for an aide to arrive. When I tried to address this, both an aide and the night-time concierge told me that the call button was for “emergencies only”. The administration admitted that they were understaffed and at times had only one aide to approximately 30 residents. One of the administrators, “[name removed]”, employs bullying tactics and can be retaliatory with residents. After I had a fall on the slippery floor in my bathroom, “[name removed]” was combative and hostile

My loved one is a resident at Waltonwood Ashburn. The staff is very friendly and approachable. The care associates are very capable and handle the residents very well. The food is good, or so my loved one says. Communication with the family is open, they are always available to answer questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend Waltonwood Ashburn to family and friends. Especially the Memory Care section, as it is small (only 26 residents).

I toured this facility and it was great! They had great room options, great staff, and are in a great location. However, they are more on the expensive side.
We really like that they encourage dogs here, it has been really nice for our loved one to be back with the dog. There are so many residents here with pets, and the dog park is great. The community feels very safe and they people are super friendly. However the meals could be improved, the frequency, quality and variety is just not enough. It has been a little bit of a disappointment.

I would highly recommend you check out Waltonwood Ashburn to see if your loved one would be a good fit. This has been wonderful experience for my loved one. The staff have been very open to family communication, friendly, accommodating, and understanding. The steak is enjoyed by my loved one. The community has been able to help my loved one try new food and they have enjoyed this experience.

This was a fabulous community but my loved one is very quiet and would not have used all of the benefits that they had. And for the higher cost with more to do it wasn't worth it due to him not using it. This community would have been to overwhelming.
It's an excellent place to live. The number of residents in independent living is about 104, and I think maximum capacity goes to 114. Compared to other places I looked at, it's smaller, so it has a community, small-town atmosphere. The people all get to know each other. My neighbor's parents have lived there for a while, and they like it a lot. The staff genuinely care about their residents and want them to be happy. They've helped introduce my dad to people, and they watch out for all of the residents and make sure that they're integrating socially. My dad has had no complaints about the food and is generally pleased. Cleanliness is good overall. They dealt with issues we had at move-in professionally, although I did have to follow up several times. They were very accommodating and proactive on a logistical issue in his unit. I would say they're pretty responsive overall, about a 4 out of 5. He likes using the gym every day and says they offer a decent amount of activities, although he hasn't participated in a lot. They had a New Year's Eve party and another get-together party recently. They have a theater room, but I haven't seen any movies. And I haven't really heard about any outings either since he's been here. They have Happy Hour on Fridays. Overall it's a pretty quiet place, and the residents have been very friendly. My dad has made friends. We got in on a special, and the value is pretty good as is. My only question is will the rate go up next year, and how much? I looked at a lot of facilities, and nothing is perfect. But this was the best place overall from my perspective. It's less than 5 minutes away from a hospital and all the doctors' offices that are around it. So when my dad has medical appointments, it's very easy and convenient. In addition, there are two shopping centers across the street, which provide amenities ranging from a barber shop, Harris Teeter, Jersey Mike's, a pizza place called Rubino's which is fantastic, McAllister's Deli which is also fantastic. The police station is probably 3 minutes away. There's just a high element of safety, and the staff is very good about making visitors log in, taking temperatures, answering health surveys, etc. I think the location is ideal, and it's very easy for my dad to drive his car and get around. For an older person, it's very easy and convenient, especially compared to other places we looked at. There's plenty of parking, even for visitors. They also have a van service that will transport residents to doctor appointments and things.

Our family had an in person tour but we came unannounced one day. The lady who gave us the tour was incredibly accommodating and professional. We were impressed that we showed up unannounced and they were still ready and willing to show us around and see everything they have to offer.
The community is very neat and clean and the staff is very friendly and goes above and beyond for us. The food could be healthier and we would like to see that. The activities are great and there are so many to participate in. I would recommend this community to others based on our experience.

We chose Waltonwood Ashburn because when we were trying to place my husband and I broke my leg at the same time. They did make it very easy and they were great to work with with getting things settled. They accommodated us and all of our needs and they also took the long term care insurance that we had. I do like that the dentist comes to the facility, there is a medical staff on site, barber shop, etc. so you do not have to leave the facility. My husband is int he memory care unit and they are great over there, the staff are all very nice and are great with communication. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

The community has outrageous late fees and the payment options are not great options and they need to add more options. The food was great and the activities staff is amazing. They always have things going on and they proactively make sure the residence is interacted with like family members. I would recommend this community to others but keep a close eye on billing and understand how it works from the get-go.
