We do offer transportation Monday through Friday with our bus and car for appointments, which can be scheduled at the Concierge Desk. Additionally, we have regular shopping trips, lunch outings, and seasonal excursions, the details of which can be found on our monthly calendar. Please encourage your parents to reach out to our culinary team to share their input on meal options as we're always striving to improve their experience!
What we like the most about Overland Park Place is that there is a lot of opportunities to connect with other residents. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

Right up there appears to be a great attitude towards anyone interested in moving here, but underneath the true attitude will shine after you move in. I've been here for almost fourteen months and not a single light in the dining facility has been changed out it didn't work. They do dutifully take care of the trash. I took a summary of the meals to a nutritionalist and after a brief review I was told that there was "nothing nutritious" on the list (daily summary of the week). In thirteen months they haven't completed work on the rain gutters but instead fight with the flooding in the lower rooms forcing them to move to another room.

Most of the staff has been there for decades, especially the dining room staff. They treat the residents like family and remember their preferences. Communication and move-in have been good experiences. I would definitely recommend Overland Park Place. It's not new and fancy, but it's very comfortable with great staff, and is a good value for the price.

It isn't as good as everyone says it is. It's getting more like a memory care and assisted living place NOT independent living. Management is to busy keeping corporate happy then their residents. The activities person has no back bone they let bossy residents walk all over them. They never smile or know how to have fun. Not Five Star anymore!

The friendliness of the staff members as well as the activities gets a 5+. The residents and staff are very welcoming and friendly. My parents also have an "ambassador" to show them how everything works & introduce them to everyone. Overland Park Place is nicely decorated and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Housekeeping is does a great job. Families are always welcome and kept informed of all emergency situations. Moving in was very a smooth and easy process. All of the meals are just like home cooked meals. I would, most definitely, recommend, Overland Park Place to anyone looking for a carefree, happy life. The activities are great!

My experience has been very good. We moved in 2 months ago. The common areas are always clean, and the rooms are cleaned weekly. The staff members are great, very friendly and helpful. The quality of care has been very good. The meals are good - the main menu is good and alternatives are offered daily. We have been pleased. When it comes to the activities, we haven't had much time to get involved yet. Still settling in so not sure about the value for cost but it seems to be a good cost. We would recommend Overland Park Place to other families.

The reason why we picked Overland Park Place is because of the price, that was one of the main reasons, it was one of the cheapest we had found. However our loved one is on the basement level which has flooded with a recent storm. I think it has happened a few times in the past but the root of the problem has not been solved yet.

July 28, 2023Amber, the recent storms that brought strong winds and heavy rain to the Overland Park area -- and across the entire state -- have impacted many people. We at Overland Park Place were not spared and did suffer some flooding due to this storm. We have relocated the affected residents to other apartments, have a mitigation company currently on-site, and are obtaining quotes for the repair work. Thank you for your support and patience as we work to make Overland Park Place even better than before!
I can't think of any adverse issues. If there are any they get positively resolved quickly. I'm more than satisfied with my place/room size wise. There are some who decide otherwise after moving in but they either get moved to something they're more happy about or just stay. Amenities are more than sufficient for me as I couldn't attend all of the activities if I wanted to, and the other amenities are plenty bountiful. When I moved into my place, after a day or two I discovered that one of the two A/C units wasn't cooling the room and it sounded noisy. After contacting maintenance, it was almost immediately replaced with a brand new one.

We toured with Overland Park Place and did not choose them because to me, it just struck me too much like a nursing home/assisted living facility. The people that we interacted with were all very nice though!

Overland Park Place had a reasonable price and good food. My loved one moved in last December and is doing well there. The staff communication with the family is good. My loved one really enjoys the meals offered. There are three meals a day and there are choices for the residents to choose from.

7.5% increase last year. 7% this year. 14.5 over the last two years. I guess they want more empty rooms. I had to figure the increase out because it was not included in the letter. My concern is over the money, not the people who work here.
