Some of the lower ratings were patient fault. Patient did not choose to participate in activities and had poor appetite. Also my friend was only a resident for a few months and then required transfer to mental support area but staff was very supportive. We initially chose this facility due to the location, pleasant staff and cleanliness of the facility. Pleasant overall for short term experience. Only main concern was lack of medical supervision....more custodial than physician involvement.... Read more

Response from Orchard Pointe at Arrowhead
September 10, 2024Thank you for sharing your experience at Orchard Pointe at Arrowhead. You are correct, the care provided at assisted living communities doesn't include medical and physician involvement by regulation. We take pride in providing the highest level of care possible within the limitations and partner with our residents' medical providers to provide what we cannot. We appreciate your feedback.
This facility is a great place if your loved one doesn't need constant care. My loved one needs reminding for activities and they don't seem to be able to provide that. They send a weekly newsletter and a weekly menu. I would recommend this facility for people with mild or no Dementia.

Response from Orchard Pointe at Arrowhead
September 10, 2024Thank you for your feedback. This doesn't fit with our expectations in our memory care communities. We encourage you to discuss your concerns with the executive director or our home office.
I visit my loved one often and I think that the people who can afford to live here are fortunate. The staff is very friendly and provide good care. The only suggestion I have for improvement is the food, it's just not great quality. My loved one is on a liquid diet/supplements so it doesn't apply to him. But if it were me living here, the food might be a deal breaker. There just seems to be a lot of reheated/frozen food. I thought the food was going to be great, but it' not. Housekeeping is once a week and it's adequate. I would recommend them to family and friends.

Response from Orchard Pointe at Arrowhead
September 10, 2024Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your insight.
My father fell there and hit his head and ended up having a brain bleed. I was out of state, they knew they were to call me first as I was power of attorney and his medical point of contact. When I called and asked where he was, they weren't certain where he actually was. It was a nice place, people are very nice but you better be healthy otherwise not a great experience in my opinion. The medical techs were very attentive and had decent response time at times. They made me pay the entire month of July even though we advised him that in June he was not coming back. After he passed, I did reach out to them and they partially refunded me for that month.

A Place for Mom has scored Orchard Pointe at Arrowhead 7.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
