My father has been here for a year. He was fairly Mobil and able to do most things for himself in the beginning. They are severely understaffed. There was problems with his roommate getting decency all over the bathroom, when you complain, they suggest you pay for a private room. The food is slop. Vomit on his floor for months, when asked I was told they were not trained on how to use the carpet cleaner. One day they forgot to schedule anyone to work the dinning room at all. They do not follow my fathers diabetic diet. They lost his dentures and don’t want to pay to replace them. Constant battle to make them do the right thing. We are finally able to remove the POA and get him out of this hole. Last week I went to visit only to find out he had gone to the hospital two days earlier and no one knew. They claim they left a message on the POAs phone and they claim they didn’t get it. End result, my 89 year old father with dementia was in the hospital alone for 2 days. They don’t return your calls, their behavior is outrageous! Please don’t leave your loved one here!

We have not been pleased with our experience at NSRV. A new corporation was taking over when we moved our parents into the facility in March, 2018. We were promised and sold so many what seemed like wonderful services. Since then it has been one problem after another that take forever to be resolved, if ever. Our main complaint is the very poor quality of food which is a daily problem that the administration seems unable or unwilling to fix. The cook that was raved about when we agreed to move the parents there, quit right after we got there. There was a long "search" for a new cook which was a gastric nightmare Old people should NOT have to eat substandard or inedible food. It is the highlight of their day and should be a satisfying and pleasant experience. It has not been so. Now that a new cook has finally been hired, the quality of food is still, for the most part, very poor. I don't understand why this is not resolved all these months.

My father has been here since January. They don’t have enough help, most of the aids that they do have are very good but you watch them burn out before your eyes. They are terribly overworked. When you complain they give you bs. I have been threatened with being banned from the facility, I’ve been told they have the amount of help the state mandates. (1 aide per floor). Told if I don’t like feces all over bathroom from dads roommate, the family should get together and pay for a private room. Wouldn’t leave my dog here

My father was here for 4 years and since January 2018, the care has declined immensely. The staff are superior but overworked, constantly short staff scheduling, residents that should be in skilled nursing, not personal care, that require all the attention. There is NOT memory care. No specialized programs for dementia. I am glad my father did not live long enough to see what has happened. The new owners are only concerned about making money.

The community was great with taking care of my loved one. He had been at several other local communities prior to moving in here, overall the family prefers North Strabane Retirement Village over the two other facilities. Received wonderful care. Always activities throughout the day to do and scheduled outings.

Consulate health care is operating on a provisional licence. This means that the state has found serious uncorrected violations and care is substandard. The states banned admissions in October of 2015. Physicians, social workers, hospitals and discharge planners should not be referring people to facilities when they are known to provide substandard care. There are currently 10 homes on provisional licenses in Allegheny County. No matter how difficult the placement, find someplace else.

My loved one was here for a brief respite stay, and overall I thought they seemed like a nice place. The facility itself was well kept and clean, and the staff all seemed very friendly. However my relatives who visited during her stay said they weren't quite as diligent as they claimed to be in terms of how quickly they responded to care requests, such as bathroom help.

This is her second stay here. We had looked at their assisted living, but their price was too high. Their staff is great they're all friendly, their all hands on, you don't have to go look for anybody.
