My life after retirement

I started working in 1946 when I was 10 years old. My mother got me a part time job on Saturdays delivering groceries. I kept that job until I was 18 It ultimately resulted in a full time job leaving no time for high school activities. I had to learn the grocery business and worked at it full time along with attending school. At the age of 18 I graduated and joined the Air Force in 1954. I decided to stay in. While in the Air Force I got married, had 2 children and began college. I completed college and after 27 years retired. I used the skills I learned on active duty to start my own business and ultimately retired from that at age 88. My wife and sister passed away in 2023. My children encouraged me to move closer to where they lived. I am now here to enjoy life at a more leisurely pace. I now enjoy the fruits of my labor sharing my life with my family and all my new friends here.... Read more

Poorly managed by Paint Creek Properties LLC

Management does not encourage or enforce that each resident respect each other regardless of real or perceived limitations. Wellness is much more than merely physical health, exercise or nutrition. It is the full integration of states of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Thank you Deanna for your comments. We try to set an example for our residents with our own respect for each and every person. I am so sorry if another resident was less than welcoming. I hope that you will give us a chance to improve your impression in the future with a visit to see our changes.

Impressed

I toured this community for my friends respite care. I was really impressed. We would have chose this place but they weren't able to offer support with his food and meds. The staff was very helpful with answering all our questions. But we had to choose another community.

A new community for care

This is a nice community for someone wanted a smaller apartment. The community is very clean and the staff is helpful. They offer meals and activities for the residents. They have some to assist in needs in the community. We needed a large apartment. We would recommend others to see this community for the options that are available

Mom Likes it Here

So far my mother seems to be doing well with her move to this community. She likes it, and I'am comfortable with her move here. The community looks nice when I visit. I know she is in good hands, they have a good staff at this community. She is happy, and we have no complaints about this community. Everything has worked out well for us in the community, and I would recommend it.

Very nice community!

They do a very good job at Mountain Creek Retirement Living, I'd give them top marks across the board! I can't think of anything they could do better, they're just a good community overall. They're resident oriented, and treat everybody who lives there like family. They're also priced very well for the level of service they're able to provide!

Very impressed with the facility and ...

Very impressed with the facility and staff--particularly wih the director, who spent a good deal of time with us during our visit and introduced us to other residents. She really seemed to love her job and appreciate the life experiences of the residents. She really listened--in fact she personalized a gift basket for my Mom that was delivered to her door the same day. The area where the faciity is located is very nice and convenient to the Grand Prairie Senior Center

A Place for Mom has scored Mountain Creek Retirement Living 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
