Overall we have been very pleased with our experience. We like that it's a smaller facility (20 residents), easier to talk with staff. However, there has been quite a bit of turnover in the year we have been with them. We have had three "in-charge " people in a year and the position is currently vacant. We chose this facility for its small size, cleanliness, better pricing and best location for us.... Read more

Do not recommend....place is horrible. Facility is understaffed, turnover is very, very high here. Staff is grossly inexperienced and unqualified and lacks the compassion needed to deal with the elderly. Staff unfriendly and doesn't acknowledge visitors. No activities for the residents. This place is really nothing more than a nursing home on smaller scale. Food is terrible quality...lots of processed foods. Staff either doesn't read resident's charts or ignores them. Meds were not being administered per doctor's orders. Owners don't listen to complaints. Residents seem sad and unhappy when I have visited .. Have visited multiple times and never saw a single staff member anywhere around. We ended up taking our family member out of this place as we saw a decline in their health while here.. we decided to pay a little more for much better care.

Response from Maple Cottage Assisted Living Transitions
October 30, 2024"Linda", we’re sorry to hear about your experience, as providing high-quality, compassionate care is our top priority. While we recognize that turnover can sometimes seem high, this is largely because we hold our caregivers to high standards and let go of those who don’t meet them. Our goal is always to bring on dedicated, skilled staff who prioritize the well-being of our residents. We also want to clarify that we have a posted activity schedule that offers a variety of engaging programs for our residents. This is part of our commitment to fostering a vibrant and enjoyable environment, and we encourage both residents and visitors to take part in these activities. Additionally, our culinary team is dedicated to preparing fresh, nutritious meals, and we’re always open to feedback to improve every aspect of our residents' experience. We also don’t recognize the name associated with this review, so we’re uncertain about its validity. However, we value all feedback and hope you and your family have found a place that brings you happiness and peace of mind.
I cannot say enough good things about this assisted living facility. The owners operate with the utmost integrity, kindness, and professionalism, truly setting a high standard in the industry. Their expertise in caring for residents is evident in every aspect of the home, from the personalized attention to the warm, welcoming environment they have created. Even with the staffing challenges that many workplaces face today, this facility has worked tirelessly to ensure that residents receive the best care possible. It’s clear that the well-being of the residents is always their top priority. I would highly recommend this assisted living to anyone looking for a place where their loved ones will be treated with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Response from Maple Cottage Assisted Living Transitions
October 21, 2024Simina, Thank you for the kind words! We look forward to providing exceptional care to your loved one and ensuring they feel at home with us. Your trust means a lot.
The food is horrible....we've seen frozen dinners being prepared...we never see anything cooked fresh for residents. The staff here is barely qualified to take care of an animal let alone a human being. We've noticed sheets not being changed, rooms not cleaned, staff not trained properly. The staff is a revolving door...every time we show up, there's a new person there. They have gone through at least 5 "head nurses" since we've had our loved one there. There are no activities for the residents except for bingo. If you complain about anything, you are told you can just take your loved one out of here if you don't like how we operate. they don't want you to say anything..they want full control of your loved one and for the family to be uninvolved in the poor care they provide. I really don't see how this place stays open.

October 21, 2024Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re glad to hear that you appreciate our smaller size, cleanliness, and location. We understand your concerns about staff turnover, and we’re actively working to create a more stable environment for both our residents and their families. The post pandemic job market has made this more challenging but we are striving to hire (and keep) the best staff to care for our residents.

A Place for Mom has scored Maple Cottage Assisted Living Transitions 5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
