Everything is great for my mom and she is enjoying her self there. She's doing good and she is going on outings. She has made plenty of friends. It is a nice community. It is run by a non-profit catholic charity. There is always a retired priest or sisters. Everybody is exceptionally nice at the community. I picked them because of their non-profit community. In the future if her funds run out, she can stay there but will moved to a smaller apartment.... Read more

This didn't seem to have activities for the residents, or a lot of staff.
I spoke to [name removed]. As of [date removed], they are on a wait list. He also stated there is no skilled nursing facilities on site-they will need to move once they degrade. He also said residents must be "pretty independent".

[Name removed] gave a through tour of the facility. They offer the full spectrum of amenities. The facility is quite spacious with large party rooms, chapel, game rooms, garden, computer lab, hair salon, physical therapy room, and more. Mass and rosary are offered daily. A priest was walking around the facility and was friendly. Anyone of the catholic faith would feel a sense of comfort and familiarity here. It was quite dark in the facility, although [Name removed] said that they are getting new lighting.

I loved this community when I visited. This community was my first choice, unfortunately it was farther away than what we were looking for. The people I met were nice and they will let you stay here even if you run into financial issues.

My mother has adjusted very well to this community, and she is happy here. It is a beautiful community, they do a very good job with the cleanliness of the facility. She really likes the staff. They are taking very good care of her and her needs. She has gotten involved in the community with the activities they have available. The meals are nice, she very pleased with the food. This is a community I would highly recommend, it has worked out very well for us.

The Light of Hearts Villa was a nice community. The problem with it for us was that it's very small. The room they showed us was small and the large one was not very clean. The sanctuary was beautiful, it had stain glass windows and was our favorite part of the whole community.

I have toured many facilities and Light of Hearts stands out above the rest. I admitted a love one there with no regrets. The entire facility is so clean one wonders if anyone lives there. The residents are cheerful and friendly. The attending staff is at your beckon call. They make everyone feel at home and the residents know the staff is there to help and do not hesitate to call upon them. This past week the residents went on three outings: Tour of a park, Sweeties Candies and Patterson Apple farm. The facility has its own bus and takes the residents shopping as well as to appointments. There are a variety of activities. The facility is beautiful in and out. There is an enclosed garden. I consider the value great for what they have to offer. Having eaten at a few facilities in my tours, the meals here are superb. I think your loved one will enjoy living here.

A very special place. Mom has been a resident for eight years. No where is perfect but LOFH works very hard to ensure great living conditions. Variety of kinds of apartments and also memory care wing. Loved ones well cared for and activities to keep their minds sharp and exercise for good health. Mass most days. Make a visit!!

My loved one has only been here a short time, but so far our experience has been a very good one. She is in their memory care section, which is a locked and secure unit. She's been having a lot of trouble adjusting, and dealing with her wandering behavior, but the staff have been very understanding and compassionate. They obviously know what they are doing, and are good about redirecting her when she wants to wander. They have a good amount of activities tailored towards those with memory issues, as well.

This site helped me greatly!! I filled out the info page and received a call from someone in the organization almost before I finished the info page. She asked a few more pertinent questions about my situation and gave me the name of the person in my area who would contact me regarding my needs for my father. Linn emailed me within 24 hours and when I didn't respond right away, he called me the next day. We talked for quite awhile, and I found him to be warm and caring with my situation. I needed to find an assisted living place for my father close to home in less than a week. Linn suggested two places in our town. I contacted both, explained the situation to each facility, and he was found to be a fit for one of the two facilities. His new "home" is right across the street from our home parish and is three blocks from my home and two miles from my brother's home. It was important for my 92 year old father to be in familiar surroundings and close to his home parish. Our parish priest, whom my dad loves, says Mass every Friday at the Villa. The move was accomplished within a week. The Director of Marketing and the Villa and the Director of Nursing have been most kind in their concern in helping my father to regain his strength. The also have helped me with paper work and suggestions to make the transition easier for our family. This organization was AMAZING!!!!! Thanks to the two people who helped me, especially Linn for his knowledge of all the Villa had to offer.
