At this time, Liberty no longer offers independent living; only assisted living. The day after Christmas 2024, mom fell in her room and shattered her arm. She lay for over 4 hours until we found her. No one came to check on her when she didn't show up for lunch, but they were supposed to. We found her when we came to visit. She is now in a nursing home, recovering. The excuse we were offered was they were short of staff and didn't want to spare anyone to make wellness checks. They were recently bought by a Texas firm; thus the transition to assisted living.

I would say our experience fell far short of our expectations. The level of assistance given was inadequate.Overall, our experience with Liberty did not generate enough confidence in their care to provide hospice care for our loved one.

Liberty Residence has been great. What our family likes the most about the community is that they have very nice people there and at a reasonable cost

The laundry room needs attention. The staff changes often. The food is not edible, my loved one has to buy her own groceries. I rated Value for Cost lower due to the food/buying her own groceries issue. Overall, I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

What we really like about this community is that my mom has found a place that she enjoys living at, being around people her age and keep busy with fun activities. We would also recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far. Everything was great at Liberty !

Food is big concern. Not enough they run out of meals. Lack proper protein. Very understaffed for the last year. . Poor craft activities even though they have a director. Staff complaints of low wages and not enough help. But with all these issues they raised the rent again. Maintenance is poor , lights out in parking lot for a year. Very dangerous. The saving grace is the the residents take care of one another and front desk employees are wonderful. I believe all this will be rectified with proper staffing..

They need to improve on everything. The new cook is horrible. They can improve on food, medication management, and how much they care about the resiedents. With care servcies, the pharmacy is horrible and they don't fill things properly. The nursing staff has no idea of what's going on, and the doctor's services is horrible. The head of nursing is really good, and is getting things done but not the nursing staff.

We toured with Liberty Residence and had a good experience, the facility itself is pretty dated though. Staff is key to any place, the head nurse here was awesome. After touring with another facility and interacting with their staff, I just felt that it was going to be a better fit for my loved one.
We chose Liberty Residence because they had availability and we liked the room size, the services that are offered, and the price was the biggest deciding factor. The apartment sizes compared to others I have seen are pretty nice. He got a smaller one but there were some very large and spacious ones that you could easily fit 2 people in. The residents seem to be happy. When we went to tour we were able to talk with them and everyone was really friendly. We would recommend this facility to others looking.

Honestly, this is the best move we made for my Mom. Once she transitioned, she has gotten involved in their activities. She eats better, she socializes with other residents. The activities offer a prize called liberty bucks to purchase things for their apartments. The residents are between 60-90 years old. They do housekeeping once a week. They offer transportation to doctor appointments on a certain day of the week as well as shopping trips on another day.

The food keeps getting worse since I moved here. Portions are limited and if your still hungry that’s the way you’ll stay unless you keep food in your room.. At the last residents meeting the director, [name removed], ended the meeting because she said she was tired of our complaints. I am not over weight and don’t eat a lot. The director doesn’t have to eat this food, but she should have to for a week. See how happy you are with the menu [name removed].

It's been a positive experience to date. It was an easy transition. Everybody was very helpful, and they go over and above. They have exceeded my expectations. My loved one seems to enjoy the food, and there are plenty of activities. His is a smaller apartment (although they have a selection of different sizes to choose from), but it's the perfect size for him. I like that they have continuing levels of care, so if something were to happen to him later on, we won't be scrambling to find a place for him. That gives me peace of mind.

The staff is very friendly, caring, and personable. They check on your loved one to make sure they are getting to meals. This makes you feel that your loved one is attended to. The meals are mixed ratings, there are no complaints from my loved one.

They are very personable. The staff is good. They give you individual care. The food is adequate. The room sizes are good and the layout is good. The outdoor space is good. They have a shuttle to take the residents shopping. My brother plays the piano for the other residents.

My dad is settling in well here at Liberty Residence 1 he was a bit apprehensive at first but the staff has been great working with him and he is now making new friends and likes being here. There is a nice sitting area where he brings his friends and family when they come to visit, and he is comfortable in his room and has settled in nicely. The staff makes sure that they keep my dad informed on the activities as well as the field trips and they encourage him to join in which he has started doing now. Dad enjoys going to the dining area, in fact, he lets his friends there know what time he will be going so they can join him there. The menu options are good and so far dad likes what they serve. I have noticed that my dad is now walking more because he does go to the dining area and out to visit with his friends he has made there. I would definitely recommend Liberty Residence 1 and I also like the graduated levels of care they offer as my dad's care changes.

A Place for Mom has scored Liberty Residence I 8.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
