From the moment I drove onto the grounds of Brookdale I was in love! The buildings are impressive and classic, the pond, the trees, everything is just gorgeous and inviting. Walking in the door I was just blown away with the architecture and furnishing, even had fireplaces. The dining area is beautiful, everything is classy, tableclothes, table settings, right down to the menu and servers. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The apartments are very nice and and roomy. There is nothing about Brookdale that we are not happy with. The grounds have a mile long sidewalk through trees and gardens, the pond has benches and a cute little bridge. All just inviting you to take a walk. I moved my sister there from another community and she also fell in love at first sight. She is doing much better, her health has improved, blood pressure down, losing a few pounds, participating in some of the many activities they offer and just much happier than she was at the other place. Highly recommend.... Read more

Only had one problem with a new staff member. All the rest are absolutely wonderful!!!! Caring and when you need something fixed, they are right on it! It is not a shiny new place, but the people there really care. I highly recommend Brookdale Montrose to other families looking.

We moved my dad into Brookdale Montrose after working with A Place for Mom to find and tour facilities that were in budget and could accommodate my Dad's changing needs. Brookdale Montrose made us feel invited and supported through the whole process never hesitating to answer questions or work with us to build the best possible service agreement for Dad. The staff goes the extra mile to interact with and care for residents in a setting that feels warm and inviting. The facility is older than some in the area but the length of time they've been in the community means they know the area better than anyone and they have staff that have been there for 10 to 20 years which is rare in residential care facilities. We even met a staff member whose own grandparents live there!

We moved my uncle in recently. The staff has been so very kind, helpful and attentive. We are very happy with his apartment and how the staff greets him each time they see him and us. We have really enjoyed getting to know many of the other residents while we have been settling my Uncle in. There are so many activities to choose from and a lot of very active and caring residents that are very friendly.

I LOVE Brookdale. Each one a 5! The staff is so dedicated and friendly. The facilities/"community" well kept. The front desk staff watch out for everyone and helps so much. And [name removed] is a rockstar! She organizes all the activities and really makes sure people are getting involved. I think the food is very good too. Many options. Dine in or take to room. Just very pleased. And never would have been here if not for [name removed] coming in at the drop of a hat on her day off! It is nice knowing we have additional options as we may need more care.

We really appreciate the feeling of 'home' by the staff. They do a great job of looking out for each other in the community. Staff treats residents like family and cares about them. I also have to say the activities that are planned by Kim are favorites! She really puts her all into every activity that's planned for the residents. I will add from the housekeeping staff that always visits, the front desk staff that helps with meal selection, and just being friendly, the sales staff is even engaged with residence, the dining room staff, and the chefs all make meal time very friendly.

My parents lived their final years at Brookdale Montrose and liked it very much. Now, my brother is there. Diagnosed with Alzheimers, he’s in the memory care unit. They have all sorts of programs including exercise, movies, live music, and field trips to keep people with memory issues engaged and interested. Food is quite good. It really is a fine place.

The pros: the staff are very nice and very respectful to my parents. They really seem to care about their well-roundedness. They have activities, and if my mom doesn't go, they come and ask if she wants to go. They're very willing to work with us, and any issues we've had, they've willingly taken care of. At the beginning, I had to kind of fight for some things. They were supposed to help with showers twice a week, and they were only doing it once a week, so my parents were winging it by themselves the rest of the time. The hardest thing was they had accepted my father based on the condition he was in at the time. During his stay there, their staff identified he had a problem that required surgery and rehab - that discovery was very important and lifesaving - I'm very grateful to them for that and give them credit for their quality of care that led to that discovery. But now they're saying they can't take him back after his rehab stay. I feel like they didn't do a very realistic assessment upfront, and they at least admit that they probably shouldn't have taken him in the first place. Which is disheartening, because the whole point of the move was to keep my parents together. I just wish they had done a more through assessment upfront and had been more transparent so we could have made a better informed decision.

The food selection seems to be okay. It really feels like a community. The staff really cares, especially the LPN who is very compassionate. Also, the marketing director really cares. If I needed a place to go, I would go here. I chose this place because of the price, location, marketing, and staff. It's a clean environment. They offer a lot of activities. Overall, I love this place, and it just felt like the right place for my loved one.

September 22, 2022We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear you feel this way. Our staff is committed to providing the highest-quality service and care and we will share your feedback with our management team.
They've been very helpful and have provided what they said they would. Brookdale offers a good sense of security for Mom - I feel they do a good job looking out for her. She loves the food. And her apartment is good - very roomy, with plenty of closet space. The kitchen could use a little updating/love. Paint would be a nice change. But all in all, it's good place.

I had a pretty good tour experience with Brookdale Montrose. The reason I did not choose this facility was because I am a maintenance guy and I could tell it was not kept up as well as another place I was looking into. It is also not as new though.
Our family had an in person tour and the gal giving the tour was very warm, we felt very comfortable with her. It was a nice experience
This is a very nice community that is well maintained in a great location. Everyone is very mindful of the residents. They are really good people and a comfortable place for your mom or dad. They do have activities however my loved one has participated just yet but they do try had to get everyone involved and keep them active. I don't know how much better they could do.

Brookdale felt old, dark, and gloomy. They could use some updates to the community. The community has different care levels within it and this was a nice plus.

Our tour with Brookdale Montrose was very impressive. The facility is beautiful and all of the staff were extremely friendly. The room sizes here were nice and pretty, they let you paint an accent wall.
Compared to our other family members community, Brookdale Montrose is superior. This community feels much more homier, and very welcoming. The nurses there take such good care of the residents, they are all very involved and on top of it. Even on the memory care side, the apartments are really nice.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Montrose 9.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
