Review for Juniper Village at Paramus

I would tell anyone interested in finding an assisted living for a loved one that Juniper Village, although not the newest, largest, or most modern facility out there, the staff engagement with the residents is the best I've seen. Every time I am there, there is something going on and the living room is usually filled with residents doing something. We chose Juniper Village because my Mother is a social person who needs to be with people. She is always busy, sometimes not having time for me when I visit. This turned out to be a great fit.

The place is really kept clean and the staff are very friendly and accommodating as well. As long as my mom is happy....

I would give each category a 5, except maybe a 4 1/2 for quality of care because the main issue that my mom is having is the amount of bathing's she receives. They only bath her 2 times a week. For the amount of money she pays monthly to stay there, she should receive more than just 2. Overall She does love the place. Lots of activities during the week that keep her busy. The place is really kept clean and the staff are very friendly and accommodating as well. As long as my mom is happy, that's all that matters

Juniper Village Review

It's great, [name removed] loves it. They have a scratch kitchen an food is delish. Activities are the best. They have the usual bingo, Pokino and karaoke Last week they had a spelling bee. She came in 2nd. They have comedy night and art exhibits. Entertainment is great at least twice a week. I even perform there. The place is kept clean and they do her laundry once a week and clean her room and change the sheets. They have PT and exercise. The only thing missing is a nursing staff and a more hands-on staff to make sure she takes a shower and takes her pills sometimes. It's a nice small community and easy to get around. You don't get lost. The atmosphere is pleasant. The other thing is it is very expensive. 7100 for 1 bedroom plus 1850 for add ons.

It's worth the trip

Juniper Village is definitely a place where they care about not only the residents, but the family members too. When I initially spoke to the woman at the facility, I talked about getting POA from my mother. Originally my mom was very resistant to that idea. They were able to give us the names of a couple lawyers, which was great because I would've never thought of that route. She let us know that we didn't have to use them, but could contact them for direction. That was tremendous for myself, because I wasn't sure how to go about dealing with the process of POA. The lawyer we chose was a huge help for us. Other facilities didn't offer that. I was able to sit down and have a meal with my mom and it was vey good. I spoke to other places and they were nice, but Juniper went the extra step. When we went on our tour, the tour guide during that time went the extra mile - gave us her personal number and allowed us to contact her after hours with questions. That was such a huge weight off our shoulders with having a parent who's transitioning from leaving home and moving into a senior living community. They went out of their way, in ways that other places didn't seem to be doing.
