We like that it's a clean, safe, and friendly environment. My brother doesn't drive anymore, so he is glad for the van trips here and there, and he Ubers too. He's glad he can get communion once a week, and the food is good. He'd probably like a bigger room, but we'll have to see about that. He says the staff are all very nice.... Read more

Response from Ivy Park at Simi Valley
November 12, 2024Hi Anonymous, thank you so much for leaving us this wonderful review!
We’re happy. The place is like a resort, friendly staff, nice rooms. I was relieved to see how staff knew how to engage with my Mom. She needs physical touch and clear communication. It’s expensive but the quality is worth it.

Response from Ivy Park at Simi Valley
September 23, 2024Hi Ols, thank you so much for leaving us this wonderful review! It is our pleasure to care for your mom and we are so happy you decided that Ivy Park at Simi Valley was the best community for her.
Some of the staff is great. Some not so great. The staff was very good when the lady in charge of memory care was there. Lacking in areas when she wasn't. It did feel uncomfortable working with people, like I was a tattle tale. Employees should be professional & taught to be. I wish I could make a huge difference in the next persons lives. It's going to take a village

Response from Ivy Park at Simi Valley
June 12, 2024Dear Anonymous, I regret to read that you are unsatisfied with parts of your experience at Ivy Park. I take your concerns seriously and I would like to talk with you personally to learn more about how we can make improvements. Please contact me directly at lbogoyevac@ivyliving.com, I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Lea Bogoyevac, Executive Director
Mom is now in memory care/hospice in the Evergreen section of Ivy Park. I would recommend this facility highly. All the staff have been extremely helpful in transitioning from assisted living to memory care. The caregivers are terrific. Mom didn't participate in any activities, but there is an abundance to choose from.

Response from Ivy Park at Simi Valley
May 14, 2024Hi MS, thank you for your kind words and this wonderful review! It is our pleasure to care for your mom and we appreciate the opportunity to support your family.
My loved one was previously a resident at Ivy Park at Simi Valley. The department heads there are very responsive and communicative. So, at no point, did I feel like I wasn't heard or responded to. I would recommend this facility to others.

Response from Ivy Park at Simi Valley
April 25, 2024Hi Mark, we're happy you found our team to be so supportive during your experience here at Ivy Park at Simi Valley. It was our pleasure to care for your loved one and we sincerely thank you for the positive review!
It was a good experience as I was told what to expect, what was offered.. there were a few reasons I chose this community.. I thought it would be a good fit for my brother; it is a very nice place and clean, and the food is good, and he can go down to eat when he feels like it. Also, they seem to be pretty helpful.

Caregivers and staff are friendly and understanding. The facility is clean and up-to-date, and the food is good. Already have recommended to someone and they moved in. The experience is great. We picked this community, because of the dual placement and affordability.

We toured Ivy Park at Simi Valley during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. We were very impressed with this facility! Everything was great. The staff was amazing. From our tour, I would definitely rate them at a 5.
All 5 stars, Ivy Park was great. We chose this facility over other we had looked at because more residents were actually in the common areas doing things. Living. A lot of places we went to, the common areas were a ghost town. I would tell others that Ivy Park may not be the fanciest, but the care is exceptional and people visiting, don't seem unhappy to be seeing their loved ones.

My loved was here for both assisted living, and eventually memory care before we moved him elsewhere. As an assisted living community this place gets a 5 out of 5. It is a beautiful place, and the staff and residents were all very friendly, and the price was reasonable. However, once my loved one graduated to needing memory care things took a downturn. Moving to the memory care section was a large increase in price, and the memory care section here was not very large or well equipped, he essentially spent most of his time sitting in a hallway. Great place, if you're interested in assisted living, but for memory care you may want to look elsewhere.

I moved my mom into Vintage in November 2013 and she moved out in the middle of December 2013. The main reason she moved out was because the food and the service in the dining room was unacceptable. She waited as long as 2 1/2 hours to get some of her meals. The staff is very friendly and the accommodations are nice. The rooms are small for the price they are charging. My mom was paying $3070 per month for the smallest room they had to offer on the first floor. The food was terrible. My mom and I both complained and they said they would take care of it but nothing changed. The residents, care takers and other staff are very friendly and helpful but Vintage needs to get their act together as far as I'm concerned. The dining room should have 5 star gourmet food for what they are charging to live there. I hope this is helpful to anyone considering living there. Also, they charge a one time movein fee of $2,500 part of which is refundable if you move out within 60 days but you must give a 30 day notice on the first of the month in order to move out. This means that you are there for at least 2 months before you can leave and the first $500 is non-refundable at all.

The memory care is very good. I really must say everything is very good. They have been helpful. We have been family members that have been difficult and were not happy with certain things and have taken my mother-in-law out for her birthday. They took her out overnight which was not good because she really just wanted to go home after that. They arranged a meeting among family members and explained why it was not good for her to be out over night at this point. There were very helpful in that I would say. Overall they try extremely hard to please everyone and they take good care of my mother-in-law.

They did not have any openings first of all. It was okay but it just wasn't as nice as another place I was looking at. It was clean but not as new. Otherwise it was a very nice community. I just didn't like that is was not as new.

It was very nice. It was definitely a newer facility but it was a bit more than my mother could afford at the time and more than my brother and I could afford either.

My father was there and they had a lot of good activities but I wasn't comfortable with the caregiver to resident ratio that they had there so I found a smaller place.

Very nice place. I was greeted by "everyone". Maybe a little bit too much. I was given a tour of the dining room, computer/game room, lobby area and all of the new Recollections wing that they are about to open. The new area is very nice. Of course nobody lives there yet. I discussed prices, and we talked a little about what they had to offer. I did not see any of the active areas of the building (other than lobby and dining room). I will want to go back and see a lot more and have further discussions with them. The areas I observed were clean, well maintained, and functional.

A Place for Mom has scored Ivy Park at Simi Valley 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
