I am so grateful to have been referred to Fairmont Retirement community! My octogenarian mother has lived there almost two years, and she couldn't be happier. The team calls every resident by name, knows family members, and rapidly responds to any concerns with genuine concern. I've never experienced such sincerity in caring for residents, nor have I seen the incredible team work exhibited by management! The amenities included in the cost of the lease are abundant. I have no worries that my mother is safe and greatly cared for. If I could choose more than five stars, I certainly would! I highly recommend this center!... Read more

The staff are friendly and it is a smaller community. It has a family feel to it. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff are great to work with. My loved one seems happy with the food. I feel there could be more activities offered to the residents; however, it is winter, and there haven't been a lot of field trips offered.

Food and staff are wonderful.
I used to live paramount. I moved to better place to live.
This is a great place. They need more staff and to do better with their meals. The portion sizes are very small, and the residents aren't able to get seconds. A lot of the residents will eat more food in their rooms after the meals. They serve a lot of cabbage here. The residents are helping set tables due to the staff shortage.

We get help when needed. It's pleasant. But, we get too much carbohydrates (i.e. rice, pasta, potatoes/starch). We do not get very many vegetables. I am content here and have signed up for as long as I'm able to stay here.
great place to live. Very caring very supportive staff. Always there when we need help, meals are delicious. Great chef lots of friends. All the staff makes us feel like Fairmont is home.
My dad has not moved in quite yet because we are waiting on his furniture, that is why it was a 4. They have been very nice and accommodating and are very thorough when answering any of my questions and great with communication. He got the vaccinations through them even though he has not moved in yet. I am up here frequently and they know me by name when I walk in. Everything is starting to come alive here and I saw they had entertainment there during lunch time. My dad is a very picky eater and he said that the food here is great, they do provide a menu to choose They have a banner outside that shows that 70% of their residents are fully vaccinated now.
Read MoreWe chose The Fairmont because of the location and I liked the idea that they were under a bigger company. The apartment sizes here are good for what she needs. They were really good with communication for a long time, they did switch the team of people in charge of that though, so now they are in a transition period and communication has dropped off a little bit. We are really happy with our choice and we think it is a good place our mom.

I feel like it's a good option for someone who shouldn't be alone and needs to be cared for, but doesn't need medical care yet. They're very on top of billing and bookkeeping, making everything clear and easy to understand, unlike our experience at a different community. The staff here is very responsive and supportive.

Wow - tremendous discussion with manager and coordinator. Both were honest and informative. [name removed] spent some time with me via phone discussing facility, new safety standards, etc. She also sent excellent follow information for review. I was impressed and have heard good things from former residents. Really like their care team philosophy of “pay by task” versus minimum hours.

I moved here on [date removed] as the result of a serious car accident. I was test driving a new car, in Manassas. I was about to make a right turn. A car came up behind me and slammed into my car and our car hit a telephone pole. I was badly injured and spent 30 day care place, then moved here to Fairmont. I like it very much. My apartment is cozy and comfy. The food is good in every way. It is well run in every way.

I've lived here in this community 4 and 3/4 years and have enjoyed my life here. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Fairmont to others. Granted during covid-19 our lives have changed in ways we don't like. But the Fairmont staff has work to diligently to protect us. For them, I am grateful! I wait hopefully for the quality of our food to get better and for our lives to get back to a better place.

I've enjoyed residing at the Fairmont 22 months and I've appreciated being here, near my three married children. The time, 12 months, prior to the shut down was the best time with activities and entertainment with the building. But I appreciate the efforts of management and staff to overcome the necessary restrictions. I also appreciate the cost of the lease which was lower than many other senior residences.

My daughter lives in Nokesville, VA she took me to see this place and we looked at one in Illinois. This was better for me to come here.

I chose The Fairmount because they offer 3 meals per day and also the rent was less than some others i looked at. It was also the right timing and it turned out to be the right place for me. The apartment sizes are pretty good. The food here is something I think they could use improvement on. Some things they do well on is Eggplant Parmesan as well as their homemade soups, chicken wraps and grilled cheese sandwiches. They come around with a drink they call lemonade and it is not real lemonade, I do think it would be better if they had real lemonade. My favorite part about living here so far has been the staff members, they are very friendly and approachable. I would recommend this facility.

I would say the community is very welcoming. The exterior is attractive, good value for the rent. The food options are not necessarily able to be individualized. The community is slow to repair minor issues. If there needs to be a light bulb or closet door repaired, they don't get to it immediately. If it has to do with plumbing, it would be done immediately. Their maintenance is not swift when it needs to be, in my opinion. My mother is very happy there, she likes the aesthetics, she likes the staff, food, and community. They have one or two options, if the resident has a dietary restrictions. They don't accommodate for allergies and if it is heart wise for the restriction, they only have one option. The community prides themselves, on independent living. It is staffed from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm so they don't staff for those residents need additional attention. They would recommend an outside agency if the resident needs further needs.

If you are looking for an independent facility, it would be a good option. It is not as intimidating as some other facilities. They only have a retirement community, and it is easier to transition. It is very similar to an apartment, but my mother is around more people. It is a smaller community, compared to other communities. It is three stories, and easy to is navigate.

A Place for Mom has scored Holiday The Fairmont 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
