I toured Heritage Woods of Charleston during my search for an Assisted Living facility for my loved one. This facility was very nice! It's very clean and remodeling has been done recently. The rooms are nice, but no stoves and the refrigerator is very small. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, they didn't include as much with the monthly price as the other facility that we were considering did. We decided to go with the other facility.

The rooms are big, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The activities are off the wall, they get to do such a wide assortment of activities. The housekeepers are so efficient and helpful. Dietary does a great job with meals. Absolutely enjoyed my walk through the building. I would definitely recommend this place.

I have lived here for about a year and a half. I have enjoyed it immensely. Very friendly people live and work here. I recommend it for people 65 years old and older. We get three meals a day plus snacks. We get activities that are great. We have exercise programs for 45 minutes at least 2 times a week. There is also bingo and occasionally we will get entertainment from the community. That is great and very enjoyable. We have sing a longs and bell choir. During the holidays, the staff is wonderful in surprising us with different kinds of activities that we don't do on a regular basis. We also have someone come in to do chair yoga with us. To me, it is a great place to live. The staff is very helpful.

I have lived here a little over two years and I couldn’t be happier with living here. The CNAs, housekeeping, and dietary staff are all so kind and helpful. I would recommend this community to anyone!

The staff at Heritage Woods work very hard to make sure the residents are well-taken care of. They go above and beyond to make them feel as if they are at "home". Friendly, fun, and caring staff with many fun activities! Very welcoming!

We moved our Mother here thinking she would be safe. After repeated requests for her to get a life line button for her, they told us that they didn't have any that were working and had to wait for one. After being there only 3 weeks she fell in her bathroom and cried out for help. She had a brain bleed, broken hip and arm. She is now in a nursing home. Hertiage in Charleston and home office in Bradley have repeatedly lied to us about returning money that we had paid them in advance. Shameful

The staff needs to understand the definition of assistance. When residents ask for help they are often told by staff that they aren't allowed to do what they are requesting or they just refuse to do it. Food quality is poor and that is if the resident can get waited on in the dining room. Medications are often not ordered on time allowing resident to go without vital medication for days. Transportation provided to medical appointments only one day a week. If resident has issue with oxygen or even insulin you might as well look elsewhere staff is not allowed to assist with either. Housekeeping is minimal. Very disappointing.

Extremely poor nursing care, not safe, my parent was overdosed on a blood thinner and antibiotics were not given at all, that were prescribed by doctor. [Removed]is a common occurrence, every time she would leave her room, to go to the hospital, a staff person with a key would go through her things and take something, if it had any value.

This place has really gone downhill. Food is terrible, no nurtricious and repetitive. Nursing care is minimal and very not client friendly. Huge CNA staff turnover.

My mother has lived at Heritage for just a few months and I can honestly say I am not pleased with the care given. We are looking to move her elsewhere due to the lack of quality staff, especially when it comes to nursing. It seems their CNA's change on a regular basis which can be confusing for my mom. Not to mention the fact that her laundry is frequently lost, medications are not given on time and it is not uncommon for her apartment to be unclean. I used to hear nothing but good things about Heritage prior to moving mom in, I am upset as to what it has turned out to be. This age group deserves much more for the money we are paying them.

They are very welcoming and very pleasant and everyone is always willing to do anything, even if it is not in their job description. They do have a problem with keeping CNA's though, and they are short-staffed sometimes.

We have all been impressed with the staff and the facility. Each and every staff member we have had contact with has been very friendly and efficient. The meals we have had there were very nice and the service was outstanding. Our family members who now live there are extremely pleased with their choice of facilities. Even tho there is a schedule for laundry or trash pick up, it is done whenever staff come to the room, if needed. My family members are so relieved to not have to worry about setting up their meds or taking a fingerstick blood sugar, or anything else, for that matter. There is an adjustment period for staff to get used to their medication schedule preferences. But, I highly recommend Heritage Woods of Charleston!
