The staff is very friendly and keeps me, Mom's caretaker, up to speed with anything going on. They extremely helpful with any questions I have. The facility is very friendly and encourages family to come spend time with my Mom either through activities, meals, or one on one time. They do plenty of outings so they can get out. Meals/dining are getting a little better. Activities are much better, but mom is just not able to anymore. There have been many leadership changes but they are moving in the right direction.

Harmony is poorly run, there has been a lot of staff turnover. From the day she moved in we were disappointed (her apartment was not painted and was not very clean ). The billing /invoices were ridiculously confusing. The quality of food has dropped significantly not to mention sometimes lunch takes 2 hours because they are understaffed. They only provide transportation to doctors appointments on Monday and Wednesdays now instead of every day.

If you need anything more than med support, don't go here. When residents push their call buttons, they will wait a 1/2hr to get a response, which leads to incontinence accidents, pain and suffering after a fall, etc... Please don't subject your loved one to that! The majority of the staff is very kind, but they are understaffed. There is no communication from the staff when you call to check on a loved one. No return calls even when you call the main office, or the director!

A lot was promised when we looked at place and signed lease but some things have not happened. They have not had a correct bill in a year! Management has all turned over and corporate has come in. Also heard the state was coming in but haven't heard anything else in that. Transportation to apts was available 5 days a week and now down to Monday and Wednesday and the driver decides who he takes where. That is not acceptable! I could go on and on. At one point the meals were hot dogs and hamburgers on a regular basis. There are many times when loved ones go to an activity only to find it has been cancelled. Compared to other SL communities in the area, they don't get what they would at other places. Not a good value for what they are supposed to receive and most of the time don't get! Would not recommend, has room for improvements (perhaps if corporate makes changes and gets the facility back where it needs to be and delivers what they promise, doesn't continue to cut services and programs -maybe recommend--until that happens, I can't recommend to others at this time)

The experience was good at harmony but my dad passed on [date removed]. I give all categories a 5 except for the quality of care which I would give a 5 and that is only because of staff shortage and the temp help was not always particularly motivated specifically overnight shift. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families it is a good value for cost

I can tell you up front that Harmony of West Shore is NOT a place I would recommend.People need to be aware of how bad they are.

My main complaint is that the process for integrating a new resident into the community is disorganized. They offer a lot of services on site but setting them up isn't straightforward, had to follow up multiple times to get info, sometimes without hearing back. The facility is super nice otherwise, very modern, nice staff etc.

Harmony was a great place for my Dad. They took good care of him. The place is really nice. The meals were really good and they have activities all the time. I never worried about my Dad when he was there.

When compared to a rehab facility or an actual nursing home, I would highly recommend Harmony. There are areas that Harmony should address They are under staffed in several areas such as dining and care especially on the evening shifts. All residents, that I sat with complained about the food.

The staff is pleasant. Housekeeping is lacking. Private apartments, common rooms, especially the dining room, are not clean. Suggestion: hire more staff. Meals: poor quality, both presentation and taste. Need to use better quality ingredients. Wait staff is pleasant, but overworked. Suggestion: hire more staff and increase wages. Issues with over- billing and not paying contractors in a timely manner. I would recommend this facility to others, but with reservations.

The staff at Harmony at West Shore are extremely friendly and welcoming. The housekeeping is good (we had a little hiccup on move in day, but it got resolved). The move in process had a few bumps because of some staff who left, but was otherwise good. My parents feel that the food is excellent and plentiful. I would recommend Harmony at West Shore to others.

We picked Harmony because it was new and the ratio to patents was great. Once they got up and rolling it was an entirely different. They are understaffed most of the time. The staff that they do have are always looking at their cell phones and not watching residents. My mom had a horrible accident there. She was in a locked down memory care. But somehow she managed to escape numerous times. After the last incident where she was hospitalized we decided to move her for her own safety. My mother was missing for almost 3 hours before anyone realized she was gone. It was another resident who notified staff. Conveniently the cameras were not working and the door to the outside area was broken. Therefore it was not locked. It had been that way and they knew about it for 2 months prior to my mom’s escape. Bottom lines don’t look at the new fancy stuff. Look at the care they are giving your loved one.

We got off to a rocky start with aids not getting mom taken to dining room for meals. That's been resolved and we have no complaints now. Transportation to doctor appointments has been unreliable. Not sure if it's been a scheduling problem by front desk staff or an unreliable driver. Cleaning is superficial. They don't get into corners. There are some activities, but mom can't get around by herself and aids don't encourage her to go and take her/pick her up. I totally understand that there aren't enough aids to go that extra mile. It's expensive, but I like that mom has an apartment and not just a large bedroom to live in. She uses her pendant call button as needed and the aids come promptly. That brings peace of mind. My mom does like the place. She truly loves her aid, [name removed], who gives her great care and lots of hugs.

Our family had a really bad experience with a previous community in another area, and Harmony at West Shore. Everything about this is so perfect for us. [name removed] the marketing lady that we dealt with was super awesome and very caring. She knew all of our loved ones wants and needs and addressed them right away. The doctor on sight is always available and always open with speaking with families. The staff are very positive, and the aids are wonderful, they are always taking care of our loved one. they are so kind and very engaged. [name removed] who oversees all the nursing staff is fabulous and incredible to work with.

IT is a clean and well maintained community, our only concern is sometimes there is a delay in the staff responding. However based on our experience so far we would recommend this community t other families.

There isn’t enough room here for me to go into great detail, but I thank God that I found somewhere else, besides the Harmony At West Shore memory care unit, to put my mother recently. I have been a geriatric nurse for over 30 years, and I can honestly say this is the worst memory care unit I have ever seen. Gross understaffing for the LOC the residents require, little to no notification when my mother had a decline or change in status, most recently there was a 4 to 5 day delay in the Hospice doctors orders, meanwhile, my mother suffered because of it. Severe lack of communication between staff, and the families who are trusting this facility with their loved ones. Shame on the people in charge of this facility and running it now.
