Everyone is amazing, patient and caring. That he is comfortable and able to remain there without another transition. What stuck out about this facility initially was the full nursing and medical staffing available 24/7. He doesn't need to be transported to dr offices in bad weather. I love that my Mom is encouraged to attend activities at Greystone Farm at Salem! I never thought of her as a joiner, but she has been participating in many things. The staff is very kind to my Mom. The nursing staff has really been there for my Mom throughout diabetes issues and dental issues. Many thanks to them. I've been there for meals and they are well planned and taste good. I love the Bistro option. My Mom is happy with the food as well! Very important! The move in was easy due to attention and care from [name removed]. I would highly recommend this facility to others.

Our experience with Greystone Farm at Salem has been all very positive. The staff always informs us of any issues good or bad constantly & are very informative. Mom loves the food. unfortunately we have to tell her she's in rehab. The staff members are so comforting for us because we know she's being taken care of all the time. It is a perfect location which is around the corner to the dining room, activity room & one of the outdoor patios.

August 7, 2023Hello Cheryl, Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We are so glad to hear about your experience with our community. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for choosing Greystone Farm at Salem!
I am pleased that the staff cares for my elderly father and I trust that he receives the best food and services available. They helped him transition from a retirement community into assisted living effortlessly which relieved his stress and anxiety, and ours! Forever grateful. We are very blessed to find him a safe and caring home.

we decided not to move our loved one here due to some complications so unfortunately no feedback in the facility. However their team was incredibly helpful compassionate and understanding through the whole process. Great communicators.
The community, has been nothing but excellent. The value for the money is good, considering that my loved one is getting full time care. It's a wonderful community, the staff is wonderful, and it feels like home. The residents is like family. They have a lot of different, activities, such as singers, bingo night, movie night, crafts, and ice cream socials.

Our family had an in person tour and the tour experience was great but it was just going to be a lot more money
Our family had an in person tour and we enjoyed the community but to us it just felt more clinical.
When I first approached my dad with the idea of assisted living, he was more open to it than I expected. Greystone Farm gave us the tour, and they spent a lot of time explaining things. At the end, he said "Yeah, I can see myself living here." Which completely surprised me. From the day he moved in until today, almost every day he tells me how much he likes it there, or how great this or that person is. I've been very happy with them and don't feel guilty about leaving him him here. He is so much better off. He's not alone, and he is very well taken care of. He really likes the aides and especially the nurses. His only complaints have been small and center around the food. He tells me they give him too much food. And then with Covid when food is delivered to his room, his CocaCola comes as a can of generic version, whereas in the dining room, it's true fountain CocaCola. But we can easily work around those things! Other than that, he is very happy there. It has been the prefect solution for him. People are in and out checking on him all day, but he doesn't feel like he's being watched. He has his own apartment, so when people come in, it's like a mini visit, and then they go. It has been wonderful for me being close by to Dod so I can do the same, drop in for a moment as often as I want or need to. I think it's very expensive, but he's getting all of these services that are so beneficial. And his happiness and wellbeing is the most important thing to me. He doesn't do a lot of the activities, but he really enjoys when they bring in different musicians - pianists violinists, etc. It has been a really great move for him and everyone in our family.

If a parent or loved one needed more medical attention this is the place to go. Their medical needs model is great and why we choose them. The community has a wide variety of activities available for the residents to choose from.

This was a nice community but I felt like there was another community that was a better fit for my loved one and the other community was more cost efficient.
The staff members are all very friendly, and even though they are short handed like many other communities they do a good job keeping the place clean. The meals and dining service is great, the meals are wonderful. The have a lot of activities as long as the residents participate the the staff do a great job encouraging.

I like the staff very much. They are very supportive. The director is extremely approachable. They all seem to care very much about the residents, which is lovely. We haven't really had many issues. We had some challenges at first with his medications, but that has all been ironed out. The food is okay, but sometimes he's not happy with the way things are cooked. They tend to be dry and overcooked. But everybody is very attentive, and they genuinely seem to care about the people who live there. I think every assisted living facility is grossly overpriced, but they do a good job here.

Response from Greystone Farm at Salem
October 29, 2020Thanks for your review, we are sorry to hear about your experience with our community. Our phone systems had a brief outage, but have since been fixed so you should be able to reach your loved one. We take all feedback seriously, and would like to learn more about your experience so that we can improve and help. Please reach out to us at [removed] so that we can learn more and address your concerns.
The community is very clean and well kept and well taken care of. They couldn't be nicer! They are courteous, on top of things, and they take care of people. We have been very happy with Greystone Farm. We do wish, however, that they were easier to reach on the phone. If we are able to get through and leave a message, it can be a while before we get a response. This only happens about 50% of the time, however.

Grey Stone has provided great care to my 89 year old mother in their Harbor Memory Care unit 24/7. My mother depends on 1:1 assistance to meet all her needs throughout the day, including the use of specialized adaptive equipment. You’ll find the staff is friendly and caring beginning right at the desk when you walk in through the front door. The sales, administrative, cafeteria, and staff in general are always available to make their residents and families feel comfortable in their living environment. The nursing staff is very caring and readily available to assist with any medical needs that arise as well. The aids who work directly with the residents and provide their day to day care are phenomenal. They work as a team and are the backbone that supports the needs of everyone who resides there. As Grey Stone does cost somewhat more than others facilities in the area, I do feel they should offer higher salaries to the aids who work within the Harbor unit, to enable them to remain and establish a long term career there. It is a very demanding job that is both compassionately and professionally met by everyone who works there, which makes me feel very comfortable when I leave after my visit with my mother. I would highly recommend sending my loved one to live at Grey Stone in Salem, NH

my family member who is a resident had a serious fall while entering the build after a visit with the family .. someone outside went to get help but no staff came out to help . So sad we had to help her up and carry her in ourselves not knowing her injuries. While in the lobby we were waiting for assistance but no one offered for at least ten minutes. An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital!! I was completely shocked that this is a facility that takes care of the elderly and no one bothered to help !!

The lack of stimulation and activities are a negative for anyone somewhat active. There is no gym facility/ indoor exercise area, pool or movie theatre like some of the larger facilities. That being said, other day to day living experiences should be enhanced to compensate. This is not the case. Transportation is almost non existent (one person typically transported one day a week only). The van is less than ideal. Rooms are claustrophobic and small in size and are not kept clean. The amount of dust accumulated in the rooms is disgusting. You must be willing to clean your loved ones apartment. The staff is lovely however, especially all the dining room/kitchen staff. Food is of a higher quality here compared with their larger facilities. Nursing staff, however inconsistent, is largely caring and competent. Remember, they are a large corporate business and are in the business to make money. If I had the choice, I would go with a not for profit living community.
