Grandview Retirement Center

If you need a place for mom, dad, uncle Joe or aunt Mabel this is the place, so much to do, the food is good, free cable and internet, and so very much more, I would not be anywhere but here Come check it out I know because I live here and have for last 6 years.

I don’t know how this facility has positive reviews. I visited my mother-in-law here. The halls smelled like urine and feces and her room did not look clean. The only thing nice about this facility was the outside garden; the garden was well kept, and it was nice and serene. After my mother-in-law was there for a few weeks, the family noticed she had become very thin and dehydrated. She fell several times and the staff notified the family, but they also insisted she was "ok". She died shortly after of starvation and dehydration. I do not recommend this facility.

There is very little correlation between what you see on Grand View's website and the glowing reviews you may see there. The best I can tell you is to look elsewhere if you need care for a loved one. My mother stayed there for less than four months. Initially, she was able to get about as needed, but she developed a problem that was undiagnosed and caused her pain while eating. Her weight and strength gradually declined to the point that she became too weak to get out of bed, much less get herself to the dining room. NO ONE from Grand View seemed to care enough to notice, much less do whatever was needed to make her comfortable!!! Just before we moved her (on an emergency basis) , a family member found lying in her filthy bed, unable to sit up, much less get to the bathroom. You can fill in the blank there. Office staff is friendly and led us to believe she would be well cared for. Sad to say, that was not the case.

I live here and compared to where I came from this is a palace, the staff and administration are great people and I will be here hopefully until the Lord calls me home, I guess no place is perfect but they are close.

The cleanliness of the community is not up to par, they could improve on that. The friendliness of the staff members are so so, and the food quality is just poor. The activities are also still limited with the restrictions.

I find Grandview a wonderful residence, the staff is courteous and helpful. I especially am fond of the activities director every day is filled with activities and helpful things like cleaning glasses, manicures, exercise, devotions. There are games, puzzles, etc. The administrator is quick to answer questions and assist maintenance is always available and food delicious!

Everything here is kept very clean. The staff are kind and helpful to all the residents. I never hear a bad word from the staff about the residents. it takes a special person to work here.

GRANDVIEW retirement center ..... My first time walking in the doors at GRANDVIEW, there was a lady there who could see how troubled I was as a daughter, Looking for a new home for my mother she embraced me and my mother in a matter of a second .And I knew we were home.... my experience with GRANDVIEW has been nothing less than stellar .My experience with the staff has been that of excellence the director Crystal is a great listener very kind helpful and respectful person. The facility itself is a great facility I’ve always experienced a clean environment ,and a staff that’s willing to assist me with all needs .I also like the activities that they have planned for the retirees/seniors they have great events and great visitors who come to entertain them ,they also take them on trips/outings to local stores/ restaurants etc. EVERYONE in the staff has just been phenomenal.. everyone’s friendly and approachable . GRANDVIEW is also a very secure building/grounds... I highly recommend GRANDVIEW if you’re looking for a retirement center for yourself or a loved one set up an appointment and visit them I promise you ,you won’t be disappointed I am not and my mothers she loves GRANDVIEW

Very pretty place, but I don't know anything else. Most people seemed like they were more in assisted living, they were up and dressed and going. They do have hospice care that comes in there. If you are unconscious or something, and hospice takes care of you it would be OK, but my husband is mobile, and they couldn't handle that high of care.
