The Blake at Pensacola is a very clean, light and bright community. It was a decent space for our loved one and he has a nice private room. From what we saw the meals looked to be really good but they just did not suite our loved ones diet. Basically, my family is quite satisfied with The Blake. The food has not been as good as expected.

My loved one was previously a resident here and it wasn't a good fit for her. We paid extra for one on one care and services, but they didn't really happen. I would say this facility is not a good fit for someone who isn't fully mobile. It could be a good fit for someone who is mobile and can still play games and socialize. The cleanliness and friendliness were poor, also. We ended up moving our loved one to a different facility.

My loved one loves the food. The value for the money is fine. We picked this community because, they were very helpful, they went above and beyond by sending a video of the room that was available. It's a very beautiful place, and I would highly recommend.

Per my loved one, The Blake is the #1 place to live in Pensacola! She seems to be very happy living there. She's active and looks forward to the activities, excursions, and eating meals in the dining room. She just seems to be super happy, comfortable, and content. Since moving in, I see in her more of a motivation and willingness to get up and go. The care has been great. The Wellness Coordinator calls me right back and answers all of my questions. We're pretty happy with everything and have had no problems so far. They go over and beyond. The concierge, the Executive Director, the nurses - all the staff - are warm and loving. It's almost like another family there. It feels like resort-style living, like you're on vacation and they roll out the red carpet for you. It has been a great experience!

We toured with The Blake at Pensacola and it was a very nice facility. It was super expensive though and we were looking for a place that was more homey feeling and we did not get that feeling here.
The Blake at Pensacola is awesome! They are very caring people; they help you get set up and they don't just leave you once you've got your parents in there. They're continuously caring, checking in on you and updating you on your parents status. They are very awesome, it's been a very good experience.

I give The Blake all 5's, I wish it was less expensive, but they are wonderful. They are very attentive, responsive and return calls. I would tell others to be sure your pharmacy is covered under the one they use which is pharmerica. Our rx prices tripled, it was very stressful.

I believe this has been a good experience so far. There are some questions I have yet to still ask management about. The staff can be quick to deal with questions or concerns brought up to the family. I believe there is still room for improvement. The meals are included if the resident goes to the dining room. If the resident is not able to make it to the dining room the community charges a delivery fee to deliver the meals to the residents rooms. The staff will remind the residents that it is meal time and to make it to the dining room to eat.

This community was extremely expensive and they require a 30 days stay. We just needed a little less than a week and this community was not as flexible. This community was really nice it was like being on a cruise ship.
We moved our mom into the memory care unit in [date removed]. We had to move her out in [date removed]. The building is beautiful and everything looked great on paper. The reality was severe staffing shortages and inexperienced workers. One resident assistant in memory care actually said to us "I keep telling your mom what to do, but she can't remember". We would come to visit and find her wearing the same often inappropriate clothing day after day, laundry not done, clothes, shoes, etc all gone missing. The published daily activities mostly didn't happen. The TV or video was the main activity. Residents were left to fend for themselves d/t lack of staff. The staff that was there were working hard as far as we could tell, but significantly lacked support. It was kinda like a day care with no teachers.

While the blake us a very nice place the service is lacking, constantly short handed and the dinning is virtually inedible. They only have one handy man for the entire facility and the PAs are often short handed, we were told there would always be 4 PAs on staff, on a good day you might have 2. They recently raised the rent by $380 and yet nothing has improved.

The staff members have such extensive knowledge for memory care which made us feel comfortable and they have state of the art equipment and services. The staff really show so much empathy for the residents there and for their families. Also the value for cost is one flat rate.

This was a beautiful community. The community sits on a highway with no views. The marketing person was amazing to work with.
The common areas are very clean, but they do not clean the apartments very well, we have to go clean after them. We are having some issues getting medications straightened out and that has been rough, it is really hard to get a hold of anyone. The staff here are so friendly and they make good efforts. They have a lot of activities provided for the residents to participate in. I would recommend to others looking, when you walk in you get a really good feeling. The facility itself is beautiful and the apartment is great.

This is like a 5 star resort! The front desk is wonderful. They have a grand piano in the lobby. There is a courtyard for the residents to use. The staff is great and a wonderful director. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. There are full screen TVs with cable tv for the residents in their rooms. It would be nice for the activities director to interact with the residents to engage them in activities.

We toured this community and it was not impressive. The tour was not informative at all and I did not like the layout of the community at all.
My mom has been at the Blake since [date removed] moved in a month after it opened. I couldn’t ask for a better place for my momma. It is her home and she has met great friends and staff at the Blake. All of her needs are met and the nursing staff and maintenance staff are there when she needs them. I visit my mom almost everyday and everyone is friendly and they know who I am and my mom. My mom can’t complain about anything except maybe the food. It means so much that the chef and his helpers make my mom an omelet when she asks even when it is not breakfast. She has trouble swallowing sometimes and an omelette is easy to eat. This past year has been hard on everyone but it is getting better. My mom enjoys taking care of her plants and playing dominoes. Thank you to everyone who touches my moms life everyday!!??

We loved The Blake. It was a beautiful facility and they had a lot to offer. My mom has a dog and the apartment they had available was just going to be a little too far of a walk for her. But I would recommend them to others.
From our understanding our loved one is really enjoying the meals they serve, and we think the value is good.
