Great experience at Oakton Arms. Staff was great and very accomodating. We selected Oakton Arms for physically disabled and mentally challenged family member while we were out of town. Based on our experience, we would certainly consider Oakton Arms for permanent placement for our family member when necessary.

My loved one was previously a resident at Generations Oakton Arms and everything was great. We had no issues. I would recommend this facility to others, based on our experience.

Well, right off the bat, I would say the pictures online were a turn off and it looked a lot more dumpy than it actually is. I think it is a mid scale environment compared to some others. But, I also find it Homey and well kept. The staff are easy to communicate as they give out cell phone numbers and have no problem texting at any time of the day or night. I would recommend the facility so far. Obviously if somebody is looking for very upscale, then they will know right away this is not for them. But like I said, I like the environment I think it is very pretty and homey. My one complaint is they don't really have a great call system in place. They have one cord in the studio and one in the bathroom. My aunt's mobility is not great, so there's nothing in place for her to call them if she can't reach the cord, which is usually! I've only been present during a few meals, and to me the food looks good. But my aunt dislikes the food. The nice thing, though is they have a whole menu of options that could be ordered as substitutes.

The staff has shifted since we first got there (new director, new nursing leadership). There were some missteps early on with our contract and pricing but it's been resolved. The facility is clean. Staff is friendly. Food is meh! I would recommend Generations Oakton Arms, out of all of the facilities that we saw, this was definitely the best one for the price.
My brother is in Independent Living at Generations Oakton Arms. After living with my parents for many years, I needed a place that would keep my brother safe, healthy and happy. Generations Oakton Arms is a perfect fit. After looking at several places, we found that Generations had a confident staff to move him in. All of our expectations and special needs were met. My brother has been pleased with the meals, which include adequate portions and nice varieties. I can not comment on housekeeping, but everything that I have seen is very well maintained. The overall expenses are average yet competitively priced to similar places. I have visited places that offer more, however those monthly prices are also very much higher. As for Generations Oakton Arms: activities, safety protocols, good food, friendly staff and residents, I could not ask for more, for my brother.

This is an average community and experience for us. My loved one doesn't enjoy the food, and the food quality could be improved for the residents. The community could also improve their dietary restrictions for the resident's dietary needs. The staff communication has been okay with the family.

The biggest issue we have had is there is a tremendous amount of turnover in the staff. The head nurse we initially absolutely loved and she ended up leaving. The executive director who gave us the tour we also really liked and she left as well. It makes it difficult to really get to know the staff and get comfortable.

I thought Generations Oakton Arms was a very nice facility. And the lady who showed me around was very informative.
My mom has lived at Generations for a few years so please understand that there are two buildings...one is fantastic, Oakton Arms which is independent and assisted living. The other, Oakton Pavilion is a nursing home and is not as great. My mom started in independent living until it became clear that she couldn't do things as independently as we had thought so she moved to the assisted living floor. The staff is wonderful! The nurses and caregivers are so attentive and caring as are all the other staff in the building. They were very careful during covid and had minimal cases. They are getting back to "normal" now and my mom is so happy to be eating in the dining room and enjoying activities with her friends. She had a short stay at Pavilion and we were very unimpressed with the lack of communication from staff but maybe we were just expecting too much. Oakton Arms is very reasonably priced for an assisted living in this area and still has everything you want/need. Very happy here.

My husband was moved into their assisted living this past January. I also live in their independent living facility. The senior living community had great service and caring staff until this past few months. Food was great and everything was well run until this point. After the assisted living was opened on their 4th floor and they hired a bunch of unprofessional nursing staff, things are going down the drain here. My husband has early stages of dementia and the staff on his floor do not care for him at all. Last week, I saw a caregiver in the morning being rough with him while dressing him up before breakfast. He told her to stop and to be slow, but she didn't bother. I also had a question for their nurse that morning about his medications and she did not seem to know what was going on with health. The nurse just comes and hands him the medication, but when we ask what medication are you giving him, she has does not know. This place has become awfully bad and they need to hire some professional staff.

My loved one has been here for a little over a week and we love it we had been at a different facility before and hated it. This place is great warm friendly staff very clean and homey the beds are nice there is a little store to buy goodies the food is decent it is close to restaurant s and stores there are activities and a visiting hair dresser also they trim your toe and finger nails they change bedding everyday and take care of your laundry it doesn't have any bad smells the microwave is clean and the elevators are nice and quiet there is a walkway with a garden veggies and gazebos they allow you to bring your dog in don't let it's rather ordinary appearance stop you, please tour and give it try it seems like there's a lot of empty beds sometimes

My mother has been living here for two years now and it is great. The rooms are large, the staff is so helpful and accommodating. She has a 1-bedroom, which is terrific. If she is under the weather, they bring lunch and dinner to her and she loves the food. I really can only think of good things to say.

We were at this community for care for a time period. The staff was nice and the community was always clean. The menu seemed appealing and they offered activities. We wanted a different environment. We would suggest that families tour this community for the care of a loved one for the options that are available for care.

Food 1) breakfast not included; 2) general menu falls short of my expectations. Health of the institution - how long can the community sustain a 50% vacancy rate? Otherwise things seemed fine.

My mother was at the Generations before and it was a great place then, but I couldn't move in for personal reasons. I'm sure if it was good before, it must be wonderful now.

We are so thankful that we found this place for my mom and dad. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Kelly it felt right. Kelly made everything go smooth and she is wonderful. Their apt is beautiful and large. Everyone is helpful and friendly. The pharmacy service and transportation service is great. We thought it would be very hard for my parents to adjust since until their accident 4 months before they had their own home and car. This is not the case they are very very happy and have adjusted well. We dont have any complaints and highly recommend Oakton Arms.

A Place for Mom has scored Generations Oakton Arms 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
