My main problem with Friénd's Home is that most of the people here are much older than me. The average age is mid to late 80's.The community would be better for someone older.

Overall my family member is happy at Friends Home. It's a warm and friendly place. Both the residents and the staff are lovely. She has had some leaks in her apartment. And there have been issues with cleanliness and food service - both related to short-staffing. But other than that, it's a very comfortable and friendly place. They're trying to resolve any issues, so I'm hoping things will get better moving forward. And my loved one is content there.

I would recommend this facility to other families. I will say, it wouldn't be the best fit for a resident who likes to stay pretty active. The residents here seem less active and content with kind of doing their own thing or simple things. They do have activities, but they're mostly card games. My mom has mentioned she'd like to have more of a variety, but is ok with the card games for the most part. The staff has been really good. They are friendly and caring, they've been wonderful. The facility is very clean. They do a weekly deep clean, but also check in daily, which is very helpful and appreciated. Common areas are very clean also. It always smells good when I go to visit. The food is good, I've eaten there a couple of times. Mom's only complaint is that the food itself isn't always hot enough. Good value for the cost. I would recommend this facility to others.

We prayed for the right home for mom. We looked at our 3 options with mom as we knew this would be her new home, not ours. We definitely made the right choice! Mom said "I'm Home" at the end of the tour at Friends Home in Kennett! She has the love, peace, and joy that I haven't seen in a long time after being a widow for many years. All the staff are amazing in how they use their God given gifts and talents to take care of mom and the other wonderful residents! It's nice to see the residents build loving relationship's, and community at this stage of life. It doesn't stop there though, the staff are part of the relationship's which is so encouraging! We are so Blessed that Mom found Friends Home in Kennett as her home until she goes Home to be with her Lord and Savior!

As a professional in the senior living industry, I often recommend this community to my clients and their families. The community is warm, welcoming, and dedicated to resident wellness. They prioritize family, engagement, and wellbeing of their residents and staff. I’ve been very impressed with the leadership team, as well as the associates I’ve met there during my visits. I’ll continue to support and encourage families to consider this community for their loved ones!

Don’t believe the lies that [name removed] (the so called “Director”) will feed you or [name removed] either. This organization is not full of love and friends and compassion. It used to be but since the new director has come in it seems she is more interested in giving her personal friends jobs instead of worrying about the welfare of the residents. Many residents who were living there, now no longer do. This also goes for most of the staff that was originally there. The staff that knew my mom and loved her are gone. When [name removed] is making decisions, it is to flatter her own ego and not in the best interest of the residents. Be careful when putting your parent here! It is not what it is made out to be. My mother used to reside here and loved it but she no longer felt comfortable being there. She said the feel and atmosphere changed and it never felt like home again.. Taking her out of there was the best decision I have ever made!

Cannot take wheelchairs. While mom is does not use one yet, I think that might be a possibility in the future and I would hate to have to move her.

Mom seems to enjoy living here very well. She had adjusted quite well and is doing fine. Her living space suits her quite well. She is making some friends and is doing the activities they offer. She has not complained about the food so she must like it. The inside is maintained very they keep it very clean. The outside has sitting areas so in the nice weather residents and family can visit

This community worked out from the start. They are the most affordable for us and they moved us in right away. It has been good for my mom since she moved in. The community is nice and homey. I like that it is simple and not fancy. Everybody you meet is nice and my mom likes. The plus is they are in the neighborhood she is familiar with and her church is nearby too. It was a good move.

My friend's experience with this community has been a good one. He stays in the independent portion. It is a clean community, they do a good job with the cleaning. Everybody has been very kind and friendly. There are many activities offered. The food is decent and the dining area is very nice. Everything is working out very well for my friend here at this community.

A Place for Mom has scored Friends Home in Kennett 7.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
