The staff has gone out of there way to help me come to Elison Park. The staff has a good understanding of what a Sr. goes through in downsizing from a home. I like the community that offers a open feeling and caring. The staff all knows your name and is happy to see you. There activities include Happy Birthday parties with cake with sing along of Happy Birthday wishes. There is also Live entertainment throughout the week. There are movies that the residents may watch after dinner in the Community Room and ice cream socials that a Resident may participate in and many more activities. On Sunday there is a Non Denomational Church service. There is a billards room that I find challenging and TV set to watch favorite shows and to socialize while playing a friendly game of Pool. There is an on-site store that has many items in stock including Bluebell Ice-cream. So if you have forgotten something at your local grocery store, Our Store, just might have it in stock. Wish they had assiste... Read more

The community has staffing issues with the business office. There were some billing issues that we are trying to get fixed. The staff is very friendly. I would recommend the community based on my experience.

My loved one has settled in and is starting to enjoy herself. She's very active, and we're very happy with that. That's exactly what we wanted that for her, to be around people her age and to be active. When she first moved in, things were kind of rough, and I felt they could have been a little more helpful during that transition. Not that they weren't helpful. But I would definitely recommend them to others. My loved one is really enjoying living there. Keep in mind it's independent living, so they have activities and bus rides, but everything else, including any medical concerns, I still take care of for my loved one. The one downside is she hates the food. She doesn't care for the way it tastes or the way it's prepared. So we end up buying groceries for her regularly. Any other concerns we've had, they've followed up with me and looked into things accordingly. It just took a little firmness and persistence on my end.

We have only seen pictures of the community, and by the pictures it looks to be a really beautiful place. Also our loved has told us its very well managed and well kept. The staff members I have encountered over the phone have been very friendly, and they have been very accommodating to our loved one. Given this past year, we think the staff has done a pretty good job. Our loved one absolutely loves the meals, and she is very happy with the activities. In the fall they are taking the residents to an Astro baseball game which she is thrilled about. We do think the value for cost is really good as well.

Our family had a virtual tour experience and it was good but it is just so hard to really get a good feel for the community and their atmosphere.
Embark at Willowbrook community is very clean, and the staff members are very nice. The community has a very good chef so the food is great. The rooms in the apartments are larger then most places, which I really like, it makes it more comfortable.

The price is high, and if your loved one is independent this is a really good community. They have lots going on and I would definitely recommend this community to others.

At the moment we would not recommend The Embark At Willowbrook Park community to others, at the moment there seems to be a lot of turnover rates within the administration.

The value of Embark community is pretty reasonable and we think they offer really nice activities. We really like the size of the apartment. Our loved one can look out and see the courtyard, it is just a nice setting.

It's a great place. the apts are real nice and they keep it clean. I feel the facility is safe, and she has people there that can take care of issues she has. The one thing they need to work on is the food quality. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

The food isn't that good. It's not a bad place to live. They give us three meals a day and we are able to go to the dining room again. The room is a nice one bedroom apartment. There is a kitchenette in the apartment. Housekeeping comes in once a week and cleans, this is included in the price.

A great community, everything they presented on the tour was exactly what we got. The apt sizes were very nice approx 900-960 square feet, For the price, everything was included except for the internet and phone. I would recommend this community

Embark is a convenient and safe community. They pay attention to details and cover all the bases. The food is delicious, healthy. and the offer a variety. At first we had dining in the ding room, but now all of our meals are delivered to our apartments. I would recommend this community highly to other families.

it feels safe and secure here and everybody here seems to be happy, Everyone I have met seems friendly. I think they try to keep up the building. The food is probably as good as it could be at this time of COVID. The housekeeping services are very nice. I chose this community because it was a bit bigger space for the money and I enter my apartment directly from the outside which i really like. I think the place is very nice and I am very comfortable living here.

Beautiful, wooded, outdoor spaces. Peaceful setting and spaces. Clean, friendly environment. Offered to let my brother stay in a quest room for a couple of days to see if he likes Embark.

The campus was shady, and [name removed] showed us several options. I took pictures along the way and sent to [name removed]. She liked the last unit that was shown because it fits her current independent needs of having a small dog and a car and wanted the exercise in the pool. Thanks for connecting us!

A Place for Mom has scored Elison Park Independent Living 9.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
