I have been nothing but impressed by everything: the staff, the amenities, the individual living quarters, the food. Overall I can without any hesitation recommend Devon House Senior Living to anyone considering placement for a family member. The facility is always clean, both in common areas and in each resident's "apartment". I have never even seen so much as a piece of paper laying on the floor. It never ceases to amaze me how every staff member knows every resident's name ~ and right from the get go. The staff greets every resident by name every time they have an encounter. It gives one a sense if belonging. I have observed first hand the caring attitude of every employee. If something needs attention, it is done in a timely manner. The dining room gives the feeling of eating out in a restaurant. There are table linens and centerpieces on every table. The room is decorated for various holidays. As for the food itself, there are many options provided for every meal, every day. Food is made to order. There are eight (8) to ten (10) scheduled activities for EVERY day, weekends as well. There are physical, mental and fun activities available to choose every day. Off site excursions are also an option for residents to participate in. Even though there was a recent increase in cost, I still believe that Devon House Senior Living provides a home-like atmosphere for a reasonable cost.... Read more

I would recommend someplace else. They lack help and sometimes my dad would go a couple weeks without a shower. He sometimes sleeps in his clothing if no one comes to change him.

I chose this community against my better judgement because they were willing to take her immediately from an out of state rehab facility.I realized the first week my mom's care was temporarily above what they expected, but the check I wrote them over rode any trepidations they had. Call bell answer times averaged 1:15. A few absolutely wonderful CNA'S, but shorthanded every shift. Why are the people giving the bulk of care earning $15 an hour? My mom is now at another facility and thriving.

My only frustration has been being able to communicate effectively with the staff caring for my mom. Return calls/emails are not timely and I wish I knew who to address concerns to or pass along info to without feeling like I'm pestering staff. I wish family members were given a contact person so I knew that info pertinent to my mom's care was absolutely getting relayed to the person in the position to assist her. My sister & I have been saying that we are so much more relaxed knowing my mom is not alone, being cared for and no longer so lonely. We also think it's perfectly sized for everyone to get to know one another

We had a good tour at DevonHouse. It was a place I would have considered. I felt well informed when the tour was done. I appreciated their responsiveness in reaching out to afterward. We chose a place that was closer to where I live and that we felt was a better fit for our loved one.
We personally have not had much experience with the community but from what we have heard everything has been very good.

I have nothing but positive comments about Devon House. I have found every single staff member to be pleasant and courteous, not only to the residents but to visitors as well. If I had went to staff with concerns or questions, they addressed them both professionally and expediently.

They are very helpful and friendly here. The communication with the staff is excellent, and they are responsive to the family's questions or concerns. I would highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones. There are three meals a day along with snacks for the residents. The residents have choices to choose from for activities. There is also a monthly activities listing for the residents to choose from each day.

I have already recommended the community to others for their loved ones. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the community had hospice available on site for my loved one. The care was great for my loved one during their time here. This community is privately owned and the owners are always available to speak with. They are also working on staff with the other caregivers.

Since it's a privately owned community, a lot of times you'll talk right to the owner, which is nice. If you have a problem, you can call the front desk. And by the time I call my mom to check on her, they're in her room handling it already. They're very prompt with addressing requests.

Overall my loved one's respite stay went very well. They made the process very easy for us. I interviewed them, was able to pick out her room, and they were able to accommodate. I had no issues whatsoever. She had no complaints about the food, and she tends to complain about lots of things. I think the cost was very reasonable as well.

Everything and everyone we have dealt with so far has been super, and we have had no complaints when it comes to the friendliness of the staff and their care services. In the beginning when our loved one was eating in the dining room every so often, she said the meals were fabulous. They would make anything she wanted if she didn't like what they were serving. However our loved one broke her hip and is completely bed ridden. The outside care services they have brought in to help with her care is completely on top of everything. They do a great job keeping us in the loop and help make decision regarding our loved ones care.

Our tour was very good. The staff were super helpful and friendly. We really liked them, and they were one of our top choices. It was just way too expensive.
[name removed] and the office staff were very welcoming! [name removed] took the time to gather information on Mom and what we were looking for as a family for Mom. It is nice that residents get to "age in place" at the same location and the increased care is provided. The one floor building plan is very easy to navigate and brings residents to the "central area' for activities and dining. The actual resident rooms are one big room; which would not meet our Mom's needs.

They have anything you want. They have food available 24 by 7. I would recommend you check out the community. They have a chef on staff. You have a menu you can order from. They have Hershey’s ice cream you can have. The head nurse and how she catered to my loved one they got sick stand out. They have a flat fee for all the care, no matter how much care your loved one needs. This community is privately owned and I was able to get a hold of the staff whenever it was needed.

Our loved one has only been there for a little, but so far the community has been straight forward with their fees, everyone has been exceedingly helpful. The staff communicate well, we get calls from the nurses with updated regarding our loved one and he is getting the rehab he needs there to.
The staff were friendly to me. My loved one was sent to the hospital due to a fall. They gave us clothes that weren't my loved one's after my loved one's passing. There were times that my loved one didn't have clothes of her own when visiting the doctor. There were missing items and we have never gotten those back still.

A Place for Mom has scored DevonHouse Senior Living 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
