Positives: Beautiful view of the lake, bright open dining room, near the turnpike, nice spots to sit outside, overall look is clean and pleasing, some caring staff members, food is pretty decent. Negatives: High turnover rate (including admin), staff do not receive sufficient training (as said by the director herself), lack of responsibility. Staff breaks expensive medical equipment and is not held accountable. My father has had meals skipped because they forgot him. He's also not received medication. Emergency button had been taken away because he needed to be changed and had been sitting for over two hours. Promises are made by admin with no follow through. Liquor has been stolen from room. Legal, medical decisions have been made without going through the proper channels and without family consent.

Every level of the support staff demonstrates CARE. Our family is so grateful for the care and attention that our Mom gets everyday. The environment is friendly and everyone there is always helpful and engaging.

It was clean on the tour, everyone was very nice, the price was reasonable when compared to others, and the location was very convenient. It was between Commonwealth and [community removed] for us. The location and parking was ultimately what made us choose there.

Prices went up, meals are awful and safety of residents is so low on their radar. We actually just took my Aunt out of Commonwealth and she is thriving already. You shouldn't have to pay extra to have care takers come in to care for loved ones. I would NEVER recommend this facility. We came so close to contacting an Ombudsman to look into the care but family members were afraid of retaliation.

Commonwealth was great. I would give them all fives. They took great care of my father. Had absolutely no problems. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far

The community is clean and the staff members are friendly. We gave the care services a N/A because we provide our own care. The meals at times can be a hit or miss. We gave the activities a N/A because our loved one does not participate in them. However, yes we would recommend this community to other families, it's all conditional on their needs at the time

There have been 3 different chefs, the current one is great so I hope he stays. Everyone is very friendly. They always say "this is your home" if my parents say they don't want to bother them.

I sent my father there because it was the only place I could afford. And what a wonderful experience it was.

For the price it is pretty good. Some staff are better than others. Cleanliness sometimes an issue. They have a mouse problem.

As with most businesses some employees at Commonwealth were enthusiastic and went out of their way to be helpful. Some staff were careless and at times inconsiderate in the performance of their responsibilities. But that is likely symptomatic of the care giving business where staff generally is lean because of operational cost containment and forced staff reduction savings considerations. The end result of this was that available staff could not always respond in a timely fashion to the immediate needs or requests of the residents. Plus the employee stress levels this created across the board was very high from what I witnessed on my daily visits to Commonwealth. So new residents expectations and their actual service experience may not be exactly what they anticipate and expect it to be. The low rating I gave on food was not so much about quality but with the availability of the food planned to be served at various mealtimes. More than a few times during my wife's stay at Commonwealth they ran out of the food she ordered in advance of the meal and she had to resort to eating whatever was offered in its place or do with skipping a meal. I know with COVID that food deliveries might have been messed up or delayed. But during my wife's stay, which was well after COVID, there is little excuse for what appeared to be regular issues with last minute food substitutions or only having one choice. This happened several times where the only available choice was a fish item, which my wife is allergic to. This is something that left my wife with a negative feeling about her experience at Commonwealth. I will give positive credit to Commonwealth as to their sincere efforts to keep their residents involved in daily activities within their varying range of mental and physical abilities to participate. That's no easy task to accomplish. Commonwealth does have a wonderful lake and grounds behind the main building structure. So for those residents who don't have serious physical limitations they can sit outside on nice days and enjoy the surrounding environment.

Communication not as good as I would like. Care could be a little better but my dad is tough. Food selection could be better. The first place accepted my dad then declined. Commonwealth said they would accept him.

It is a wonderful place where all staff is friendly and kind. Meals are very good. We have been to multiple family nights and always enjoyed the food. It is the best value. Sure you may not have bells and whistles but it is clean, doesn't look like a rehab as most do, it is bright and cheerful.

We toured with Commonwealth Senior Living at Willow Grove and the view from dining area was nice. The person giving us the tour at Commonwealth seemed more of a car salesman.

We picked this community, because the price was better than other local places, and the location was closer to both myself and my brother. It's a good place for the price, but the constant turnover with staff makes it difficult for anyone to be taught the way to take care of someone. Overall, the staff seems nice and helpful. Management is courteous, but is somewhat unreliable.

Response time to resident's requests for care/attention needs to be improved. The staff is well meaning but seem to be short handed more often than not. My loved one often had to wait 30-60 minutes for a staff member to respond to his life alert bell. The last straw was the assistant director of nursing calling to inform me they believed my loved one had suffered a stroke and they were waiting for a "transport van" to take him to the hospital. I insisted she call 911 and her response conveyed that she was inconvenienced by the request, but she did comply.

All of the staff members and residents are super friendly, and the place itself is way nicer then expected - it does not have that nursing home feel to it at all. The value for cost is excellent - for the price it is a really good place. The meals aren't crazy good, sometimes our loved one says the food doesn't come out super hot. Our loved one does not really participate in the activities but we appreciate their effort in trying to get our loved one involved. Based on our experience we would recommend Commonwealth Senior Living to other families.
