Sunrise of Dresher

Overall, we are very happy with our choice of Sunrise at Dresher. Mom has been happy there and has made friends. The staff and in particular the nurses on staff are very pleasant to deal with. I have found the facility to be very clean. The carpets are vacuumed in the residents' rooms on a regular basis, and the bathrooms are cleaned regularly, and the trash emptied at least once or twice a day. I have found the staff to be generally friendly and caring. Of course, there are some that you connect with better than others, but that would be anywhere. The quality of care is generally very good. Occasionally, they may be short staffed and need a reminder about something, but generally, we have been very happy with it. The nurses on staff in particular are very loving and caring and I can tell they genuinely care about mom. She has had a few medical issues while she has been there and they have been dealt with very well. They have a nice dining room and if the family members would like to eat with the resident, they may do so for an additional charge. They have a good selection of meals. although I have only eaten there a few times the food seems to be good and nutritious , but of course that depends on your individual tastes. They have a good selection of activities with different things happening each day. The residents are encouraged to participate, but not forced to if they are not feeling like it. There are different activities for different interests. We have found the current activities directors to be very pleasant and caring. they have wonderful musical entertainment once a week and occasional outings. Of course it's expensive but at the time last year when we were checking into places, it was competitively priced, and actually cheaper than places we were less impressed with. We have been very happy with our choice.

The staff on the memory care floor is wonderful, very caring. My sister's apartment (room) is small but adequate and the facility offers many in house activities and they periodically take the residents on a field day, ie to the park, a picnic, etc. I would highly recommend Sunrise of Dresher.

Initially we were very pleased, but at the moment if your loved one has dementia I would not recommend this facility unless they are willing to pay a lot

Mom needed to go from the hospital to Sunrise before going home. The salesperson helped make it happen quickly and they set up a nice room for Mom. The med nurses were great making sure Mom got her meds on time. They even made adjustments as necessary. During her two week stay there were only two reliable aids to provide assistance for Mom. We were told, and paid for, around the clock assistance however that was not the case. In addition, showers were hard to come by and one time the caregiver left mom sitting naked in the bathroom for 30 minutes. The food was good although it took a week before they gave her the appropriate foods that she needed due to her allergies. Overall, not a terrible place to stay but not the best place when someone needs care and attention.

Everyone has been so kind and helpful as this transition has been so difficult for my mother. We needed to find a place quickly. And my mother wasn’t prepared at all to make this move. Luckily she loves the food and the staff and everything is clean and cheerful. She is even making friends. It will still take time but the communication has been great and her needs are taken care of and the family knows she is safer here than at home.

My mother loves living here! The staff from the front line workers right up to the ED are all so helpful and compassionate. The environment is clean, and there are always great activities to enrich residents experience. I would recommend to anyone

The staff at Sunrise of Dresher all worked so well together and were so helpful, informative and caring during the registering and move in of my mother. The staff made this difficult decision for me so much easier to accept and follow through with. I could not be more please with the way everything went and is still going.

It is very clean, they are responsive to requests, the staff is very friendly and caring. My Mom is very happy there. And she loves the food. Also, you can tell the residents are happy.

My arrival here is due to the state of PA knocking down my house. Staying on the second floor was good - being on the 3rd floor is very upsetting. All is now ok as ive been moved to the first floor.

Sunrise is a friendly and welcoming place. The residents are very friendly and it almost feels like a big family.

I can give a 5 to all plus the beauty of the home but for menu selections. Covid time did not help w that though. The staff is loving

Liked the option of different size rooms. This is one of two tops choices. Prices are a bit confusing and higher than expected. Not a set price. Price for room then price for medication management then price for level of care. Need to find out if there is also an annual increase.

This is not a place for anybody who has any medical needs. The turnover rate of staff is horrendous. You Can Count Their tenure by days not months. If a patient cannot advocate for themselves their room will not be cleaned, their laundry will not be done; towels and clothing went missing from day 1. Family had to repeatedly replace everything at our expense. Although the lobby is well furnished this is not a friendly place for patients. When my parent returned from open heart surgery nobody greeted him nobody said hello... despite the overly zealous introduction on first day of smiling sales reps, no doubt satisfied that they had met their sales quota for that week. Beds are not supplied you will have to rent one. The actual memory care unit is locked so this rating is for assisted living only, and I am warning others do not put anybody you love here unless you don't care about them.

This is strictly a memory care bed & breakfast. That's all they can handle, & they don't even do this well. They lost my parent's laundry starting on day 1. No one with medical problems will be properly maintained here. The smallest change in the patients' health will become YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE. The most miserable people work as aides here - the great aides always leave for better jobs elsewhere. The nurses are mean & incompetent. If a patient can't ask for help they will leave them in their room for days without cleaning the room or bringing them fresh food & liquids. The on-site medical care Sunrise promises is a SCAM. Patients don't see a dr. unless you beg and the 'in-house' doctors (who are NOT on-site) never ever return phone calls. People die waiting for their meds to be adjusted. PS: SEVERE turnover on all levels of staff here. Complete apathy. Don't put anyone you love in this well furnished [language removed].
