While the Commonwealth facilities themselves aren't quite as top-notch as my loved one's previous facility (although they are not bad), the quality of care has been SO much better at Commonwealth. And that's really what is important. My loved one's experience has been great so far at Commonwealth.

The staff, keeps you informed and very caring with the residents. They keep them busy with the activities. My loved one enjoys the crafts, the balloon game, and they also have people come in. It's more affordable, than the previous place. It is great, and the workers are so caring.

Response from Commonwealth Senior Living at Hagerstown
March 6, 2023Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words. We're so glad to hear you had a great experience with our community. Improving the lives of seniors, their families, and our associates is central to everything we do, so we truly value your feedback.
Our family had an in person tour and we loved their memory care unit, but the price was just to far out of our reach
This community did not have any private rooms and did not have any openings when my loved one had to have a place. I liked this community but it just did not have openings and we were on a time schedule
I thought Commonweath at Hagerstown was very nice. The only downside is they didn’t have any single rooms available at the time, and our loved one didn’t want to share a room. But the lady that showed us through was very nice. They were probably our 2nd choice out of the places we looked at.
We wish we would have known about this place from the start. The care is above and beyond and the communication is amazing, They send us photos to us and my father in law is at ease because she is taken care of so well. I would recommend this community to others

Commonwealth was an excellent choice for my father. They were wonderful to him and went out of their way to meet his needs. As he neared his death, they made sure he was comfortable and not in pain. I highly recommend them for anyone's loved one.

Staff was very friendly, the activities they provide are bingo, exercise classes, they sometimes take trips to the library. They have informational talks as well. We haven't tried the food ourselves, but we know the food has made big improvements from where it began. The layout of the facility is very good, its separated into three different areas according to the needs of the residents. My mother is currently sharing a room with another resident. She was able to take her own furniture when she moved in. Their services fit our needs, we felt like we are getting our moneys worth. With the COVID pandemic happening, we get an update every week with how the facility is doing. They so far have not had any cases, they are very on top of it. They are protecting everyone! They have done a fantastic job!

It is a very nice place. We are meeting next week to complete paperwork. Price is a little miss leading. it is 1450.00 for room an board then 5 levels of care fee starting at 1350.00 up to 2975.00 extra each month. This part we are hoping the insurance will accept for her long term care.

April 3, 2017Thank you for taking the time to visit our community and for posting your comments. While we may not be the right community for every family, we do hope to help every one with whom we contact in some meaningful way, no matter how small.
My wife is living here at this community and it has been going very well. They are taking pretty good care of her. The handle my wife very well. There are activities available and only wish I was able to afford to live with her too.

My sister has been at Greenfield Senior Living in Hagerstown for about six months. We looked around at several other assisted living communities in the area. Greenfield Senior Living offers a great activity program with lots of variety. The staff is very nice and my sister always looks good. If I could give them 10 stars I would! One time soon after her admission when I was not able to visit due to illness, they called me every day to let me know how she was doing. When you talk about an extended family, this is really an extended family.

A Place for Mom has scored Commonwealth Senior Living at Hagerstown 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
