My mother is at Fahrney Keedy right now. She loves everything about the community even though we are in a pandemic. She has had wonderful experience with the staff members, and getting situated. The location is perfect and costs are reasonable. The main building was built in the 50's which explains why certain halls are not as wide as others. I know they also have built a new memory care unit and have been renovating individual rooms. From my understanding, they will begin phase III construction on the campus as well. There is a community center and gym on site. They are also offering physical, occupational and speech therapy at their facility which is great. I used their rehab department for PT after knee surgery. Their therapist worked with me and I was back to normal within weeks. Would I recommend Fahrney Keedy? I already do! My mother lives at Fahrney Keedy and absolutely loves it. Fahrney Keedy has been in existence since 1905 which explains why some of the facility is dated. But considering the age, it is well taken care of. They also are a non-profit so making money is not their top priority. Enriching the lives of seniors is their one and only goal. Since there is age on some of the buildings on campus, Fahrney Keedy is currently growing and will be stating Phase III of our master plan construction Spring 2021. They have already added an Adult Day with Community Center Building. The Memory Care Unit has been built and in operation as of 2019. The Assisted Living unit is undergoing renovations. Don't believe everything you read, check the facility out for yourself and make your own judgement. The Staff are top notched and the wellbeing of the residents is Fahrney Keedy's main goal. I am giving my review from visiting my grandma the first time after being placed in this nursing home. When you initially walk in the lobby it is very pretty. But, as you make your way through the home you quickly see where the money goes. It’s a fake front. IF.... your loved one can pay the outrageous daily fee to stay there, then their hallways and room will look much better. Carpeted wise hallways. With nicer decorations. IF they have used all of their money and can no longer give the home any more then things change. They are moved to a very old and dirty looking area. The halls are narrow, the rooms are tiny and the floors are cold, old tile. Oh, the TVs are in a larger area and the TVs are so small. There is no way they can see it. It’s SO ugly!!! My recommendation is check out every nursing home in the area. Don’t settle. But, my fear is,.....it’s about money and they don’t care. I will take pictures of the place. Not people and post later The one positive thing is, the people I talked to who worked there, were nice

Fahrney-Keedy charges $320 a day for Alzheimer's care. That's $9600. My mother does not receive $9600 worth of care a month. When I visit, she's in a room by herself. She eats at a table by herself. There is no option for her to go outside at all. No garden. Sitting and staring at the cars drive past on Route 66 is all that is available to her when family isn't there. I see very little staff. The rooms are small. There is a higher standard of cleaning done for the weekends. I'm working right now to find a better facility for her, one where she can have basic social interactions. This is not a fake review. I'm afraid to post my name because my mother is still there. (Hopefully for not much longer.)
