We moved our loved one into Colebrook the day before his birthday almost 4 years ago. The attention and care the staff was awesome. I believe that these past 4 years were most likely the best years of his life. He was seen and accepted for who he was. Helping him become a more active member of the community.

My mother was one of the first residence to move into Colebrook. She’s been very happy and busy there. She is in independent living but is checked on, be it in person by staff of a phone call or visit from a friend. She likes to complain a lot but when I ask her where she wants to go she says I’m staying here til I die.

The facility itself is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and treat mom (and the family) with dignity and respect. Mom loves the privacy of her own room, and the ability to socialize as she sees fit. There are great exercise activities as well as social activities, that she can participate in if she so chooses. It’s been a great overall experience. If there is a concern, the staff act quickly to resolve.

Colebrook Village at Hebron was wonderful. People, staff and marketing personnel. A Place for Mom was intrusive, aggresive and unecessary for me.

Response from Colebrook Village at Hebron
October 24, 2023Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you had a negative experience with A Place for Mom, but I'm glad you found Colebrook Village. We look forward to serving you and your loved. ones.
My husband is in the Memory Unit at Colebrook, All of the staff from the beginning of our initial tour have been caring and concerned about our individual situation. Every staff member makes a sincere effort to know the folks living in Colebrook. There are a variety of activities offered for those folks in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and in the Memory Unit. Activities are designed to meet a variety of interest levels. Individuals may participate as they desire. Visitors and family members are encouraged and welcomed in the Memory Unit. Staff members are friendly, experienced and work to get to know family members. Family members are welcome to participate in activities. It is possible to eat breakfast or lunch with my husband. The conference room may be reserved. The dining staff members bring menus and we order from the menu and are served. The food is delicious and the staff friendly and capable. When there has been a concern about my husbands health the nursing staff have notified me immediately and have kept in contact until the situation was resolved. I feel my husband receives excellent care in a safe, extremely caring environment. His room is clean and all of the staff call him by name and engage him in conversation. My husband is clean as are his clothes. He receives his medications securely and he is given personal, loving care. Transportation is provided as needed and there is a beauty/barber shop on site. Parking is closely available. The area outside is inviting for a walk. There are benches available and an enclosed patio area. There is also a chapel, an activity room, and a movie theater. As a concerned wife I am treated with understanding and respect. The building itself is attractive and welcoming from the minute you walk in. The receptionist is welcoming and knowledgeable as is the reception area. After signing in, for security reasons, you are free to go to the area you want. There are a number of "extras" available at Colebrook. However, the care, attentiveness, and genuine concern by all of the staff for the people who live in the facility, is of upmost importance! I highly recommend Colebrook!

Overall experience was fine until my loved one wasn't getting one on one care, which I knew that was going to happen because he wasn't able to do anything on his own. I told [name removed] at Colebrook that they weren't going to be able to give him one on one care, but she was in charge. The people who worked there were fine except for one or two. The facility was clean, the food was good. The activities were good, but my loved one wasn't able to participate unless I or someone else guided him and even then it was only a short time. But at times, he did like to watch. I think Colebrook Village is a good place, but it wasn't for my loved one.

Be prepared to understand what's involved in assisted living care, especially when you have a loved one with dementia. There isn't enough information provided on what to expect and what's included. Even though there's this lengthy contract, it doesn't go into the specifics of the things you will bump into or the things you need to know, understand, and experience when it's your first time having a loved one going into assisted living care.

My mom and dad rave about it. The staff are responsive and always helpful - they are fantastic. During the whole admissions process they really took their time. They work hard on building a personal relationship with each of the residents which I feel is very important. I would absolutely recommend Colebrook Village at Hebron.

Our tour at Colebrook Village at Hebron was great. We had a really tough decision to make between them and another facility. Really it came down to location, and we chose the other facility because it was closer and therefore easier for our family to get there to visit.
This community is very pleasant and well taken care of. Come with a lot of questions and make sure that you have all of the information that you need. As I have been here I am still finding out information that I was not aware of, not bad things just things I couldn't understand until I got here. Be ready with questions. This community feels like a hotel and very bright.

Make sure you stay on top of the medical staff, communication between the staff is not good and that needs to improve. The community is a beautiful place and my loved one is very happy. I would recommend if you are going to be on the ball about your loved ones care.

This was a nice one, similar to the place we ended up. Our virtual tour was very nice. The facility seemed clean and organized. I didn’t get to interact with a lot of people there, but the ones I did talk with were nice and kind, including some of the activities staff. In the end, we chose a place that was more conveniently located to my work.
We chose this community because of the location, it was also a nice facility. The food there was very good, there was a lot of variety. The room sizes are very nice and spacious, my mother in law has a 1 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and a deck . It was better than any apartment I have ever lived in. The other rooms I have seen such as the studios are nice as well. Our favorite part about this facility is they do things to get the families involved. They have a lot of family activities and the whole family enjoys going.

Beautiful Facility; [name removed] said she could picture us living there. Lunch they provided was very good; not typical "cafeteria" food. Scot was very informative & answered our questions. The staff we encountered during our visit was pleasant.

The other reviews are a bit unfair as they are only looking at things from the surface. The staff and facility is fantastic and have been instrumental in keeping my family member's meds in check as well as maintaining a normal healthy life. Very upbeat facility compared to others.

Beautiful facility however it is too out of the way and at this point, there are not many residents there. This is not the right place for my parents.
