My Aunt lived here for a few weeks. Eventually, she needed a different type of care that wasn’t offered so we moved her somewhere else. However, while she was here everything went well. The staff seemed to do a good job with taking care of her to the best of their ability. The food was good some days and other days it was about average, but there were plenty of options to choose from. They did a good job on the cleanliness; it was actually one of the reasons why I chose the facility. Just from our short experience, I would recommend them.... Read more

My mother was a resident for over 3 years at Carriage House of Taylors - she left earlier this year. She left in the middle of the month (with notice) and they are refusing to reimburse her the balance of her rent - around $[removed]. Along with this issue there are plenty of others. Let me preface this by saying most of the issues are with management, and that the employees try to take care of the residents as best as they can. 1) They incorrectly invoiced her 2) Prescriptions went missing and we had to start managing them on our own 3) They allow employees to stay and sleep in empty rooms overnight 4) Numerous cases of theft - mom's wheelchair was one 5) Packages and mail were opened 6) Chronically understaffed 7) Food was beyond disgusting 8) she was there 3 years and they had 5 administrators 9) I have tried to resolve the reimbursement issue with them and they are now refusing to reply to my emails, so I am taking them to Small Claims Court to try and get my mother’s money back.

Up until a few years back Carriage House did provide transportation to doctors etc. Also had an activity bus to carry residents out shopping and just getting out and riding . No longer do they provide transportation to doctor . The activity bus fell apart and was hauled away. According to some of the staff Carriage House now has very few paying out of pocket residents. Most of residents are on Medicaid . Sad.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The staff we met seemed nice, however the facility really just had a nursing home feel to it. I didn't think it was somewhere my loved one would have been comfortable.

This is not a place for my Mom. The residents seem very nice and Rita advised that there will be more renovations. But for now, the conditions are not good. The urine smell was obvious and everything was worn out. The carpet needed to be cleaned. We left feeling sad.

A Place for Mom has scored Carriage House Senior Lvg 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
