Great place...I trust them to care for my loved one.
Visited several communities before selecting this one. Have been very pleased with the service, cooperation, and attitude of the staff.
Very positive experience. I find the attentiveness of the staff and programs to be most efficient. Staff is courteous. Call button is answered in a timely manner. Maintenance needs addressed promptly and efficiently. Variety of food is appealing and appetizing.
Awesome folks working here. Great place to come to and love the mingle with.
Thanks to the staff of Carolina Reserve for your loving care of my mother, for your professionalism, compassion, and for all you have dont to keep her safe, happy, & engaged with life.
The staff at Carolina Reserve cares as much about their residents as family members do. This fact alone makes them exceptional. There are many activities for the residents, including live music, where everyone in attendance clasps, sings along, and even dances. The front porch is a wonderful gathering place. Food is excellent. In fact, the whole facility is excellent.
This place is amazing! My mother was in a state of insane fearful suffering and madness in her Alzheimer's when she came in and the staff have has helped her transition to a far more calm, happy, at ease state with consistent support, a ton of empathy, good medical treatment and lots of love. The facility is clean and well taken care of. I would recommend this place to anyone. [name removed] was honest non salesy, and showed a genuine sense of care and professionalism, as does [name removed] which made us want to work with CR and makes us feel good about it. Rebecca's extra lengths to bring joy to my mom's life are deeply appreciated.
Carolina Reserve is the assisted living/memory care side of Bartlett Reserve. When we went in they assessed my dad and did not think he was ready for that type of care yet so they referred me to Bartlett. I was grateful that they were up front and honest with me about where he should be.
I would tell other families that they need to continue communicating with the facility and stay on top of what is happening with their loved ones. The administrator is super nice and does respond almost immediately to anything that you send her, but the follow-through is lacking. So I would recommend not sending your loved one there and relying on them entirely to give them everything that they need. Be sure to stay involved and be their advocate. The food has been a sore spot. They don't follow through in physical requirements of what our loved one can and cannot eat. They say they'll look into it, but then nothing changes. Because she was having so many issues with the food, I asked them to send me the daily menu and didn't receive it. I also asked for list her list of medications with times that they were administering them and didn't receive that either. Probably the thing they're lacking the most is communication and follow-through. But the people there are very nice, and they're good with activities. The marketing person was absolutely wonderful and receptive to making positive changes in the community.

A very well done Zoom tour...answered my questions, very homey atmosphere, provides my husband needs; appropriate size facility for him I believe and if there are negatives my search on their site and other inquiries did not divulge them. We are in the process of trying to close on this choice.

I was really impressed how they tried to incorporate things in my dad's life experiences into activities for him. It is really reassuring the way the community is set up for memory care residents. I like that it is a smaller community. I feel very at ease with the director and all of the staff I have met. I do feel comfortable with my dad being there because I feel he is being well cared for, especially now during COVID.

Being in the time of Stay-At-Home Orders due to COVID19, the representative at Carolina Reserve was very accommodating, answering my many questions, addressing my concerns and taking me on a personal tour via FaceTime. I was impressed by the facility in general and also the Staff, taken unawares by the impromptu FT tour, who greeted me and continued with their duties. I was directed to the MedTech for some specific concerns, which he answered more than satisfactorily. Overall...very good impression.

We chose Carolina Reserve because of the low resident capacity, reputation and location. The staff have been accommodating and take excellent care of our mother, who at times can be difficult. THe facility is clean and the resident rooms are large and well maintained. Carolina Reserve could improve by increasing staffing/pt., recruiting and retaining nursing leadership and more visibility by service leadership. Overall, I would recommend Caroline Reserve to others. The med tech and resident assistance are all caring and compassionate.

A Place for Mom has scored Carolina Reserve of Durham 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
