Making the decision to leave our home where we had lived for more than 50 years was not easy. The first night at Carmel Terrace, as I laid my head on my pillow, I truly felt like I had died & gone to Heaven! All the stress that came with trying to successfully "age in place" was gone. I felt such a sense of relief! For the previous 5yrs, our daughter & I had researched many places. Now my husband & I were in a place where we would be cared for without burdening our children. After 15 months at CT, I still have that sense of relief and I'm glad to be at CT. There are many amenities such as, daily Mass, a driver for near by appointments, live entertainment, exercise class, book club, speakers, scheduled flu & covid vaccination, 3 meals a day, resident mtgs. & weekly cleaning of the apartment. Carmel Terrace is a not-for-profit, non-denominational, assisted living community operated by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, leaders in providing care for older adults for more than 75 years. We serve the individual who wishes to maintain their independence but would enjoy and benefit from the supportive services offered by an assisted living community. Our services include three daily meals, weekly housekeeping and flat linen service, transportation to shopping and medical appointments, daily Catholic Mass, Health Club, free parking, 24-hour security and much more. All residents are mobile and may, if needed, receive assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Up to 45 minutes of assistance per day is included in the monthly rental fee, which is determined by the size of your apartment. Carmel Terrace does not have programs appropriate for residents with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia-related conditions.

Our family was able to have an in person tour, and the experience was good. Carmel place is very lovely, clean and well kept.
My mom arrived at Carmel Terrace over two and a half years ago at the age of 97. She will celebrate a 100th birthday there this year. She so enjoys her friends and the wonderful staff at Carmel who watch over and assist her as needed. She loves her bright, cozy apartment and her three delicious meals served each day. She receives regular visits from family and friends, and we always feel so welcome at Carmel. From a social perspective Carmel has provided a new community for my mom after losing her own siblings and friends in recent years. New friendships are always a blessing but today at age 99 they are truly a gift from God. She is comforted by knowing she can ask for help doing the things that aren’t as simple as they were even just two short years ago. Everyone is so understanding and she so appreciates the kindness extended to her by the entire staff. As a daughter, I enjoy peace of mind knowing my mom is safe and in such good hands at Carmel Terrace ... a true blessing.

Carmel Terrace does not supply care services that meet the needs of elderly people. While the grounds and rooms are very nice it was lacking in care services and when my inlaws needed additional help they were asked to leave Carmel Terrace and find a new assisted living facility.
