We had a good tour experience with Whitney Place. The guy who was showing us around was more laid back and cool and just not as outgoing as the place we ended up choosing. The setting was also not as pretty here.
Response from Whitney Place at Natick
July 25, 2022Hi - Thank you for providing us with feedback, it's greatly appreciated!
We are thrilled with our experience that our loved one has had at Whitney Place. The staff at Whitney Place have been wonderful to care for my loved one. They take my loved one into the activities room to be able to participate in the activities offered. It is wonderful that we are able to still have contact by phone with my loved one and the staff make sure they reach us when requested. My loved one is happy here.

The community spaces at Whitney Place always looks well kept during my weekly visits. In terms of the staff, my mother mentioned some of the people were very nice and others she would say were not. My mother has always spoken very highly of the activities staff, they are very kind and inclusive and have always made her day. They have also tired very hard during the community lock down to FaceTime with families and have been working even harder than they were before. They could, however, do a little better with communicating with the families on a more regular basis.

The staff are very motivating to the residents by getting them up, offering them activities to do, and getting them moving. Their approach is tailored to memory care and very gentle and encouraging. Their meals offer multiple choices and a good balance of food. My grandmother actually said they make the best rice pudding she has ever eaten in her life! Whitney Place is the whole package which takes away the worry for me. They call me and keep my updated all the time, but with I like most, is that they even update me on the little things.

My 89 year old mother just moved in about a month ago from Fox Hill, an independent living facility. So far, not so good. We may have made a bad choice. - My mother desperately still wants to move into a family home. - I can't even get a phone in her room. It is very difficult to get anyone to pick up on the Broadmoor floor, so she is feeling very isolated from her kids and grandkids. - The sales person - [name removed]- has been writing nasty emails behind my back as I try to help my Mom ease into her new life.

Response from Whitney Place at Natick
February 13, 2019Glad to help!
My parents have been here for a couple of months and things seem to be going well. The staff has been good and the interactions they have with my parents are good. Mom and Dad love the food and there are a lot of options to choose from. The kitchen really goes out of their way to find food that the residents like and my parents are eating very well. In fact, my Mom has even gained weight since living here (which is a good thing). The facility is very clean and I have no complaints about that. Because the facility is small, they don’t seem to offer a lot of activities and there are rarely any residents walking around. However, if you’re looking for a smaller community that feels more like home then I would recommend this place.

Response from Whitney Place at Natick
February 13, 2019We're glad your parents are doing well since moving to the community! Happy to have them.
Whitney Place at Natick is a cheerful and clean community. The staff is friendly and caring and seem to be attentive to his care needs. I have not yet dined at the community, but the meals that they provide seem average, they do not offer the variety my father in law had at the last community. There are activities that the staff encourages the residents to participate in. The room where he resides seems comfortable enough for him. I would recommend Whitney Place at Natick to friends and family.

Response from Whitney Place at Natick
February 13, 2019We're happy to have your recommendation!
The staff have been great at taking care of my loved one. They encourage them to participate in the many daily activities they offer. There are two different dining rooms in the community. The food and the service in the memory care dining room is not quite as good as in the other one. They do not offer a lockdown area outside for the memory care residents. The community is clean and I would recommend taking a look at this community.

A Place for Mom has scored Whitney Place at Natick 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
