This is a newly renovated facility and as soon as you walk in the door you can just feel the love and compassion that the staff provides the residents with. I was greeted by friendly staff as soon as I walked in the door. The residents were participating in an activity and each of them appeared to be thriving and happy.

I no longer live in this community. I was supposed to get certain cleanings of my space. I didn't see my cleaner more than twice in the time I was there. I believe I was one of the younger residents. Some of the staff were short, snippy, and unkind. When I moved in, it was supposed to be independent living. I would get yelled at by the staff when I would stick my head out of my room. There was no communication to us about the pandemic, and if anyone was sick in the community. I believe everyone was declining in health since we couldn't be out of our rooms. The community didn't hold their side of the contract. The food wasn't good, menu wasn't good, and it wasn't cooked well either. I wouldn't recommend this community to anyone.

My Aunt lived here briefly until she needed more care. She absolutely loved it. She loved the outings with other residents, and also the food. I joined her for lunch a couple of times last Fall and I thought the meals were just as good as any restaurant. While she is now in Assisted Living, she was really happy with her stay while she was here. Thank you so much.

My Dad and I searched the Grand Rapids area for several weeks hoping to find the "perfect community" for him and we found that community at Waldon Woods. So many of the facilities we toured left my Dad feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, and when we toured Waldon Woods, he immediately loved the facility. Which for me, was a huge relief finding the perfect environment for my Dad to leave his home of 55 years and move to. Thank you to all of the helpful folks at Waldon Woods, who've made the transition as smooth as possible for my Dad.

Our family REALLY liked this facility. We think the fact that it is independent and added care options is huge. Plus the renovations look great, [name removed] was excellent!

The staff at Waldon Woods is very friendly and always willing to help its residents. The buildings are clean and nicely renovated. We love the size of the room and the activities that are offered daily. Choosing Waldon Woods for our mom was the best decision we could have made.

Waldon Woods has very caring personnel. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. The food is very good. They have monthly family dinners with entertainment. The beautician is on site and has a beautiful salon. Laundry is efficiently handled. It comes back folded and is put away by staff. The medication system is organized and handled well. We are at ease with our loved one being there.

I toured this facility last week and really enjoyed it. We are looking at building 3 for my mother. It is bright, spacious and has a warm feeling to it. The menu and activity calendar seemed wonderful as well. I am hoping everything works out and we can get my mom moved in by the end of the month.

My mother has been at Waldon for two weeks and we initially had some concerns about the consistency of her care. Once I expressed my concerns to management, they were resolved quickly and a new system was put into place. I am extremely pleased with the quick response I received. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a friendl, caring place for their loved one!

April 25, 2018Cheri I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had these obstacles. Since receiving your review and speaking with you we have put a new system in place to ensure this situation doesn’t happen again. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions or concerns, our door is always open. Again, thank you for bringing this to our attention.
This is a really nice community, the outside exterior needs some updating but inside it is clean and comfortable and my mom is doing well here. We got her furniture moved into her room so she feels more at home and she has already started making friends. The staff is very friendly and they have been helpful as well, There are a lot of different activites for mom to take part in and she and her friend like going to church together. I would definitely recommed taking a tour here to see the community first hand.

We toured this community. The environment was dark and they did not seem so friendly and my mom did not feel comfortable. The community was not as bright as mom wanted. They seemed to have a nice menu and the residents are offered to participate in activities. We would recommend that families tour this community for the options for a loved one.

The staff here did a very nice job with our tour here, they took their time showing us around and they answered all our questions. There were a lot of amenities for the residents but my Aunt did feel that she would be a good fit here.

We liked it OK, the staff was very helpful and professional. It just was not what we interested in. [Removed] was very helpful. Thank you for scheduling the tour for us. I'll talk to you soon Sara Thanks again. [Removed]

This community is not making us happy at this time. We have had to talk to staff about a few small things, but they do seem to cancel often to bring things to their attention. My father is not pleased with the memu. My father was not able to see a nurse when he was ill. The staff are very nice, but have a hard time with follow up on issues that need to be brought to their attention. At this time I could only suggest that families take a tour of this community for the care of a family member
