Staff is friendly, meals are normally very good with some occasional issues due to lack of staffing on weekends. Communication with families could be better. Move in was great. I would recommend the facility. An improvement would be a 'portal' for the families to see what their folks are up to, care plan, checklist, meds, etc.

I liked everything about the place except the costs! I no longer live there because I got no services and paid a lot for rent. Very clean, very friendly staff, and very friendly residents.

I am writing as a child of parents who have resided at Cardinal View. One parent in an independent apartment and the other in the memory care area. This is a new facility, and it is very lovely - clean and cheeful. The second floor dining room is bright and feels like a restaurant setting. The staff are friendly and efficient. Enjoy them very much. BUT, the Minnesota corporation that owns this facilty, Lifespark, has stringent rules where certain health decisions are concerned. For example, even after Madison hospitals and clinics and other senior living places dropped the "mask mandates" in spring of 2023, Lifespark continued to insist on them. This was extremely unpleasant for everyone - residents, staff and family visitors. And now, once again, as of [date removed] , masks are being required. It doesn't matter that masks have been shown to be ineffective, everyone must "mask up" and converse with muffled voices, and be deprived of seeing smiles. Harmful to emotional health!

The food is always served to Memory Care cold, no seconds or options. They're short staffed, the coffee is cold, limited food options and tiny portions. They were short a cook and the food came from the Assisted Living side, which they belonged in, but due to short staff they made my loved ones go into Memory Care where they had no activities and no one to enjoy passing time with. It was very horrible for their spirits and down right harmful to their mental health. The activities were non existent, including getting them outside. I will say that the facility has a lot of potential. I really liked [name removed], the person who I worked with the most. Such a kind and gentle soul. The facility is gorgeous. My loved ones would have been so much happier on the Assisted Living side, especially at those rates. I had such excitement of them moving to this facility honestly and am sorry to have to share this also.

We love that they have both independent and assisted people living in same area. Also love the friendly staff and so much light in the common spaces. The room sizes are large and modern feeling. The exercise classes offered to residents are great! I would definitely recommend Cardinal View to others looking!

Our loved one was a resident at Cardinal View Senior Living before falling and needing to go to a rehab center due to an injury. His biggest complaint was the food. I think the activities are great, but our loved one chose not to participate. He did have an issue with the laundry service, but he is kind of picky. I'm not sure when he'll be back to this facility, but I would definitely recommend the facility to family and friends.

We've had a great experience overall. We had some cleaning room issues that I think have finally been resolved. It is one of the most welcoming places. Staff is amazing. Great food and lots of activities.

I realize delivering food to each and every room is a problem, but the food has been less than mediocre. And then when we get it, it's cold. My husband will eat almost anything - I'm the picky one - but he doesn't like a lot of it. I will be more specific at the chef's meeting. On value for cost, I feel we should be able to work something out regarding meals. In all honesty, there are many meals we miss. Some days, we don't get any meals. I feel we are paying for meals we don't get. [name removed] and I are very happy here except for the meal issue which we hope gets resolved soon.

Dad is happy here. They provide individualized care. There are a lot of staff available whenever he needs hep. The staff is very friendly. The food is good. He's able to visit my Mom, who is in their memory care section. They're very welcoming to him there, and he eats all of his meals down there with her, which is nice. They have a rooftop restaurant / lounge where they held a New Year's Eve party for the residents, with steak and seafood, which I thought was a pretty cool event.
I toured this community and it was absolutely beautiful! It was very clean, but definitely seems like a better fit for more independent living. Not quite what we were looking for.
I think they try very hard to be responsive to issues that come up. They could use some more maintenance services to get to requests in a more timely manner. They could also have better communication. I would like them to have a computerized system for residents to be able to put in tickets for requests. I like my apartment very much. I have nothing bad to say about the apartment at all - it's perfect. It would be great to have more storage, but that's pretty standard any place you would go. And they do have storage in the garage, which is nice. It's a friendly community, and they have nice social activities for people. They bring in a variety of outside entertainment. For instance, the ballet company has put on productions for us. They've brought in musicians, magicians, a plant expert, etc. And if people have special interests, they try to address those.

They have great exercise program in the activities program. Really like the way for the layout of assisted living and care mixed commons area and really works great for everyone. The commons area is very well lit with large amounts of natural light.

The community is newer so the cleanliness of it all is just awesome, and our experience so far ha just been better then expected. Since [date removed] has been there the care has just been great and the staff are not only attentive to her needs but to our families. They are extremely responsive and communicative with us which we appreciate. We do not know all about the activities, but from what we have seen and what we know of that goes on has been really good. The staff are great about encouraging residents they don't see out and about often to come join everyone, they really do a good job making the residents feel comfortable. We are still getting used to the cost of things, it is expensive but it seems to be right on par with other communities in the area.

A Place for Mom has scored Cardinal View Senior Living 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
