About the facility Cabot Reserve on the Green

Cabot Reserve on the Green is an assisted living community licensed for 60 residents and has been open since 1999. Residents enjoy the serenity of country living in a home-like atmosphere. The building has a 24-hour emergency call system and all doors are secure. The community is part of Family Extended Care, a not-for-profit organization with five communities in Florida and one in Georgia. Cabot Reserve’s mission is to positively affect the quality of life for the elderly, to meet their many needs, and those of their families.

Experienced resident care staff are on-site 24/7 to assist residents to help them maintain independence and dignity. All staff undergo extensive background screenings and ongoing in-service training. The assisted living home also allows residents to age in place and participate with the local hospice program to provide end-of-life support.

Both private and semi-private rooms are available for residents to choose from, and each room includes basic TV cable service. Caregivers assist with personal care services tailored to individual needs and preferences. Basic services provided to all residents include weekly laundry and housekeeping assistance, three delicious meals a day, planned activities and social outings, and scheduled transportation for shopping and medical appointments.

Nasty

I wouldn’t let my dog live there. The place is nasty and residents are not taken care of properly. No names and numbers on doors. Residents wearing the same clothes for multiple days! The place needs to be shut down….

Sad

Any staff that are working are clueless. The whole place wreaks of dirty diapers. My relative is bored, sad and confused by his living conditions. This place is the worst example of an assisted living facility- taking your money and ignoring your parent. Any questions are met with defensive rhetoric which makes you feel even more desperate for the situation you’ve put your loved one in. The business and administrative staff act as if they know what they’re doing but are pathetically Ill equipped to remedy any of the systemic issues with the facility and, worse, have no idea. Cannot wait to get him out

Horrible Place RUN!!!

Where do I begin!?? I have a family member here and she’s consistently mistreated. The administration is HORRIBLE no prior experience working in places like this! They have no compassion! (The Administrator) CONSISTENTLY lies about improvements! The Business Office Manager abuse residents she ran a male resident into a wall causing him to get a skin tear! the office manager is bad Residents are often in dirty clothes with a HORRIBLE urine and BM smell. Hair greasy and matted, Some of the residents have not had showers in a month due to water issues! Maintenance there is a joke! Housekeeping is laughable!! They are being fed ready made food from Publix or Pizza Hut which is NOT nutritional for that demographic!! They are fed skimpy meals!! Most go to bed hungry and are losing SO much weight it’s sad to see!! If you try to escalate to corporate and talk to the Operations Manager good luck because all Administrator and him are concerned about is their 10-12k QUARTERLY bonuses they get!

Our Tour Experience

We had a very negative impression based on our tour experience. Cleanliness and professionalism were lacking. We didn't care for the atmosphere of the clientele. The staff weren’t ready for us when we walked in the door. They seemed to be very short-staffed and disorganized. There were piles of dirty clothes in the hallways, and food lying around. The rooms were really small. We wanted to leave immediately once we walked in.

Cabot Reserve on the Green

I went yesterday for a tour for a place for my mom. There was a station when you first walk in for you to sign in and have your temp taken. No one took my temperature! The admins were very nice. Unfortunately, this place was dirty, dingy, and dark. The resident rooms and common areas for residents were awful!!!!! It looked like it hade not been cleaned or painted in decades. The furniture was old, old is fine but it was dirty and beat up. The rooms were not fit for people with memory issues or any other kind of disabilities. Furniture and window treatments were dirty and broken (knobs missing from drawers). Areas for residents to sit and participate in activities were off to the side in hallways. The place was dark also, insufficient lighting for residents. I was turned off the minute I walked in!!! The residents did not look well cared for either, they looked disheveled. I have no idea what care is like here.

Caregivers need a pay raise & incentive to work here!

Cabot Reserve has a pleasant entrance. Some of the staff are quite pleasant and really do care about and how to interact with the residents. Some are quite young, lazy, and do not have the qualities or personalities to work here. Pay is a problem and whenever pay is a problem, you either get those that are extremely dedicated and have pride in their abilities; they chose it as a career. Or, you get those that it is only a paycheck, lack empathy and can't see the person behind the disabilities. The facility has not had a bona fide activity director in 2 years. Promises have been made, but it doesn't work out that way.

Great Value

This is a great value. They provide semi-private rooms for a very good price. There is entertainment from outside scheduled often, many activities, a beautiful campus with a view of the golf course, lovely outdoor area and the residents say the food is fine--not great, but fine and nutritious, if a little heavy on the carbohydrate side. There does seem to be a huge turnover in staff which is unfortunate for the residents. Three residents told me that the upper staff is not friendly and routinely addresses residents in an abrupt or rude manner. I have not seen that, but these particular residents were credible. The only negative thing I have observed is the temperature--it's freezing, which accommodates the staff but not residents who walk around in jackets all the time. My particular relative is happy there and always says "there is nothing to complain about."

My Homeless Mom

Mom was rejected from the Windsor of Lakewood Ranch after living there for 3 years with her boyfriend of 25 yrs living next door. She is 98! she got pneumonia, in the hospital, the Windsor would not take her back unless she had rehab which we did for six weeks but it was another new place. The Windsor evaluated her twice and she was rejected twice. The Windsor is under new management with a new executive director and nurse both I found very cold and uncaring..they obviously didn't want Mom back. I was given 2 weeks discharge notice from the rehab place and the only place that would have her was the Cabot Reserve. They were warm, welcoming and Mom is getting good care. Her boyfriend who is 95 is lonely and distraught but he manage to have is daughter bring him over to visit and they sit and hold hands.Awful experience!!
