Brookdale Wayne AL/MC

About 3 1/2 years we moved our 90-year-old parents into Brookdale Assisted Living in Wayne, NJ. It was close to us so we could visit every day. They enjoyed making new friends, the entertainment, special events, and parties, dining (especially home made soup every lunch time) and of course BINGO. After we lost Dad, we moved Mom into the memory care unit in the same building. There we found exceptional caregiving. The girls treat the residents with patience, kindness, compassion, and they are always singing and making them laugh. I am very comfortable knowing I can go on vacation and Mom will be very well taken care of. It’s definitely a “ peace of mind”. [name removed] is in charge of the memory care, a perfect person for the job. Brookdale is run by two competent women, [name removed] and [name removed] who will cater to all your needs. At the front deck is a very welcoming woman named Lori who will assist you in any way she can. You should check this place out, it’s very attractive and clean.

I toured a lot of facilities for my mom before settling on Brookdale Wayne. There was a lot to compare. Brookdale Wayne may not be the fanciest place on the block, it’s certainly not the newest, something my family and I struggled with when making our decision. But the warmth and genuine care we received from everyone we just knew this was where mom belonged. It just felt right. We have not been disappointed once. The girls that care for my mom are exceptional. She’s always clean and dressed. She’s happy and engaged. It’s been a very positive experience. I’m confident that she’s safe and cared for which makes me happy but also content.

My mother has been at Brookdale Wayne for 8 years. Both mom and the family are pleased with the care and attention she has received and continues to receive. I visited at least 10 facilities including Brookdale and remain happy we settled on Brookdale Wayne. Thank you for all you and the staff do.

Brookdale is a wonderful place to know you're cared for. You've changed your lifestyle coming from being home or on your own, but soon you'll see being at Brookdale you'll have a feeling of comfort and care. You can feel safe at all times and know that each day will be a better day for you moving forward. This place is a home away from home. It becomes your home once you settle in. Brookdale is kind, it is loving and supportive of you and your change in life. The director since her return, has made such positive changes in what Brookdale Wayne is all about, and they should be glad to have her on their team.

Staff is really friendly They do a lot of activities to keep them going physically and mentally They also have events where family can come like last week they had a luau With a pig roast and hoola dancers And Mother's Day had a brunch with a singer

I am very happy to see my grandma enjoying herself she gets really good care at Brookdale. They have lots go things to keep her busy so she is not sitting in her room all day by herself. Brookdale is the right place for her.

I wanted to give a shout out to the Brookdale staff!! Walking in I automatically feel at ease knowing my grandmother is here. The staff is extremely friendly and even though my grandmother is a fairly newer resident, the entire staff remembers who I am everytime. They even know where my grandmother is in the building and they point me in the right direction! What I love the most is that my grandmother is always treated with the upmost care and respect and we have seen a huge improvement in her since she has been there!!! Thank you!!!! Great job Brookdale, keep it up!!

I feel at ease knowing my Grandmother stays here. The staff is always extremely friendly and helps with whatever is needed. Rooms are always clean. My Grandmother enjoys her stay and raves about how greatly they take care of her. Our family couldn't be happier!

Mom was struggling and living at home, so we brought an aide in to help since she adamantly didn’t want to move, but the aide didn’t work out. Besides the fact the aide was so much more expensive, she wasn’t eating much because she hated the food the aide prepared for her, she had no socialization besides the same person day in and day out. Sure she has me too, but I work full time and can’t be there all the time and my sister is out of state. So I convinced mom to come to Brookdale and to her surprise she actually is loving it. From my perspective I would say mom is thriving. She has friends, the food is great; she’s cared for by loving people, what more could I ask for? Brookdale has given me relief I didn’t know was possible.

I love Brookdale Wayne! This has been the single best decision my family has made in a long time. Brookdale has given me my mother back. She is well cared for, and the staff truly care. If there’s ever something we need or need to address the management responds promptly! Overall the past year has given me my life and my mother back. It wasn’t easy picking a place to move my mother from New York but, meeting with Ashley who helped put my mind at ease made my decision much easier. I didn’t realize how much support a community like Brookdale provides. My mom is not in the best of health and does need a good amount of attention and we never have felt the attention wasn’t provided. Mom is always clean, dressed, and well fed. She has friends now, which eliminates her calling me constantly throughout the day. They helped me in every aspect of getting mom there and settled. They continue to help us both! The care is excellent, and the entire staff has been very supportive and caring.

Our intake representative was [name removed], who I cannot say enough about. I was clueless, and she patiently answered all of my questions about moving my father (only) into memory care while showing my mother around and comforting her tears. After two months, we are still so happy with this choice. We visit every day, so we see daily life. The aids are wonderful with my dad and the other patients, who are not always easy. Outside of memory care, the assisted living residents look happy.

My mom was living with me, I am her only surviving child. Although mom is still quite self-sufficient, she was bored at home as I am at work all day. She can be a little forgetful at times too. We explored this community living option once before but she wasn’t ready, but now she finally was. Mom moved to Brookdale 3 months ago now, and the first 90 days, I’m told are the hardest and they have been incredible. Mom is happy, mom is socializing, making friends, and going to their daily programs. I’ve seen a positive change in my mother in the past few months. I wish she would’ve made the decision to come sooner so she could have benefited sooner, but at least now she has the life and interaction she deserves to feel purposeful and a part of! Separate from that, I have to tell you, my mom and I have yet to meet someone we didn’t like. The management and staff are genuine and loving.

I visited 5 communities in the area for my mom before deciding on Brookdale Wayne. I chose Wayne because there is a true sense of warmth and compassion with every person I met. My mom wasn’t local, this was a big move and had a lot of moving parts but the Executive Director made me feel incredibly comfortable. She took the time to explain things, she was taking my calls at all hours, and helped make my mom’s transition flawless. The other places I visited were nice. Some newer, some much older, but I needed to feel safe knowing my mom was in the best hands and she is the only one that made me feel that way. My mom has been at Brookdale for a short while now, and she is flourishing. She finally has friends and is socializing, but best of all, she has the care she needs and I don’t have to worry. The nursing director is very responsive and the ladies helping with care are lovely. I’d strongly recommend considering this community for your loved one. We are both (mom and I) very happy.

We had a horrible experience. The staff was rude and nasty. Upper management did not help but they had a lot of agency employees who no one could understand. Especially the elderly. I thought it was the answer to everything!! But they were just liars and don't care about the residents.

The staff at Brookdale Wayne is wonderful, caring, and very compassionate. They are also very accommodating.

My mother was there such a short time, but for the short time she was there, she was well taken care of. We picked this community, because it was within 15 minutes of our family. Was very welcoming and each room was very nice. They accommodated my mother's needs. Definitely an open door policy.
