Brookdale Oakwood (Offering HealthPlus)

Based on the experience we have had so far with Brookdale Oakwood, we can say we do wish they had more activities on the 3rd floor...however I do love the kindness they show to those residents.

I have told people that you get a safe place in a good part of town but I have concerns on the level of personal care she receives. She has been very dirty on several visits (hair and clothes) and the activities are few and far between. There not a exercise area.

I have had a mixed experience with the community. The sales people were really good. The communication with the staff has been very good and they are accessible, and responsive to us. They are willing to speak to us on conference calls about the care for my loved one. The staffing is the biggest concern for us, as there doesn't seem to have a lot of their own staff. The community is using a lot of agency staff and this causes a lack of training, missed care, and a revolving door of team members. The cleanliness of the community and my loved one's room is great. I really like the layout of the community and it is all one floor. Each apartment has there own screened in patio. This allowed us to visit our loved one during the pandemic protocols. They have been good at doing testing on a regular basis, delivering meals to the residents when they needed to, and they have taken all the necessary precautions to avoid COVID.

Overall, it's not bad. The facility is relatively nice, with good food and good people. But the people at the top who are running it are very inflexible and difficult to deal with. And bottom line, it's just way too expensive.

We chose Brookdale Oakwood because it just seemed to be the best fit for the both of them and it is a really pretty part of town. The staff have all been very accommodating and welcoming. I would recommend them.

What stuck out to us about Brookdale Oakwood was the personalities of the caregivers, they were very friendly and helpful and also the price was good. The room sizes here are adequate. I have eaten here and I think the food is good, they do provide choices for the meals and they have options if you do not like any of those. The best part about the community so far has been how they are handling covid, they are being very cautious and keeping the residents safe. I would definitely recommend the community.

It's the place for assisted living. When my mom passed they treated my dad like one of their own residences. They are caring, compassionate, nurturing, and have great communication. I would recommend this community to others.

They were very good to my mom. It is a smaller size community, we really liked that. It is a very caring environment. They also took care of the family when they were there. The room sizes were really good. We were very please with our experience.

I'am satisfied with my mothers move to this community. She is doing well , and in good hands. They have a great staff, and they are helpful when needed. When I visit the community, and her room are nice, and clean. They do provide nice meals, and offer good activities for the residents. Everything is working out well for us in this community, and I would recommend it.

I have no complaints about the tour I had of this community for my loved one. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to provide us with lots of great information as well as answer questions we had for them in detail. The property was clean and nicely maintained which I was impressed with. It just did not fit in my mothers budget the way we needed it too.

The thing I am most impressed with at this community would have to be all the amazing amenities. They not only have a great activity list but they also have it so the residents are able to get there nails and hair done on campus. They also have parties for special occasions and holidays which is fun for them. She has had no complaints about the food and enjoys her dinning experience with the other ladies.

I am at the start of checking out places with memory care for my dad. I'm very impressed with everything from the tour. The residents were a delight and [Removed] and staff were so friendly. Everyone greeted them and all areas were clean. This is definitely in the running.

Beautiful facility, only 42 units so it has a family atmosphere which is very nice. Kitchenette in the units, lovely dining room on first floor serving 3 meals per day. Very attentive staff - loved ones would be well cared for here.

My mom is happy with the community. Food is excellant and gives more then once choice for all meals. Staff is excellant and they always seemed to be able to assist in every area of my mom's needs. She was given daily exercise to keep her active. Did not do activities with others. Very satitisfied over all.

Everything has been fine, I don't have any problems. They can't seem to get there billing straightened out though, I've been billed twice now and it's both been wrong. The room is too small. From what I hear the food is good. The staff is always friendly and it is a good location. I think it is just a little small and crowded.

I think they're doing a good job at Brookdale Oakwood. I like the amount of personalized care that each resident receives! My loved one has memory issues and I like knowing that the staff at Brookdale are keeping him active and social. It's a very nice place overall!
