I have been a resident of 10 Wilmington for 2 years. When you move in you meet people and it is like getting together with old friends. The food is good and the servers in the dining room work hard to know the residents by name and it makes it feel homey. I love my apartment and the windows let in so much light. My favorite activities are relaxing in some of the common areas with friends and going to Happy Hour. The more I walk through the building the more friends I meet!

I have been at 10WP for 5 years now. I love walking outside the building on the sidewalks and seeing the beautiful landscape and the inside hallways also have views a plenty! The people here are warm, welcoming, and after a short time they become friends very quickly. The food is very good, and the options are always changing with new things to try. The conversations at meals are great and you feel welcomed wherever you go. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, they have a happy hour that is well attended and delicious beverages to accompany the kind conversations and laughs. My favorite activities are the exercise classes, I walk out feeling refreshed and energized for the day. Residents help each other you are never truly alone here.

10WP is a refuge of sorts. It offers me security, friendship, and activities. Being from the southwest, I am entranced by the magnificent trees surrounding the building. The grounds surrounding the property are spectacular. My granddaughter was correct when she said that this was my kind of place. What I have found inside the building was even more outstanding. For the most part, the people here are friendly. I have made friends so easily. There are many that have taken me under their wing. When I moved in and met my neighbors, they were kind enough to give me sweets as welcome gifts, and that does not compare to their kindness as I now call them my friends. The staff has also made me feel welcomed, many of them knew my name when I arrived. It has been a joy getting to know them fairly well. I could go on about how great it is, but I recommend you come see it for yourself!!

When I finally accepted that I could no longer navigate the 3 sets of stairs & keep up with my home maintenance, my family started touring senior living facilities in the Dayton area. A place that would be near them, but I would have my own space! When they found 10WP they knew their search was finished. From my first sight of the building and grounds, I was hooked, & the happy & friendly interior convinced me that I was HOME! [name removed], my youngest, & his older siblings were pleasantly happy with my choice. My brother came a few months later & was equally pleased! Aside from the obvious beauty of the exterior, it is the quiet friendly staff, the young people who serve us in the dining room, the front desk personnel who seem to know everything, & the maintenance crew who are always ready to help with a smile. I enjoy that there are always activities and music available but we are not pushed to participate. Probably the greatest perk is it is not necessary for me to cook.

A poem on my thoughts of 10WP: Friendly faces Diverse ages Sundry activities From chair yoga to bingo to book groups to writers' circles to happy hours to lunch outside our campus to church on Sunday to facing the future together As we reluctantly let go of the past.

I sincerely mean it when I give 10 Wilmington Place 5 stars! When I arrived in [date removed], I had been in and out of the hospital for about a year. I was greeted with wonderful physical therapy and the staff made sure I was comfortable. Now 3 years on my favorite thing about 10WP is the wide range of activities. The food is good, and the chefs continue to try new menu items. I continue to meet new folks as they move in and make friends very quickly.

Mom really enjoys it there. Her apartment is quite nice and provides her plenty of space. Staff are nice, especially the maintenance personnel. Not real impressed by the selection of food. Not a whole lot options and buffets are few are far between. I don't like that the noon meal has to be paid for. Not many residents eat at lunch due to cost. Mom especially likes the grounds around the facility. The landscaping and flowers are top notch.

From my first visit and tour to signing paperwork, move-in, and assuring my loved one is well cared for, I couldn't be more pleased. Everyone I have met, both staff and residents, are friendly and welcoming. I am thankful my loved one's meds, meals, and care are well managed. The availability of on-site PT, OT, fitness center, exercise classes, concerts, and many stimulating social activities in a beautiful setting are unmatched in the Dayton area. My loved one's large studio apartment is filled with natural light. Grounds are beautifully maintained and they provide a peaceful environment to enjoy nature. The family is kept well informed and our visits and questions are welcomed. Highly recommended!

Response from 10 Wilmington Place
October 15, 2024Ann, thank you so much for your review. I am thrilled to hear that you have had an amazing experience from the very beginning, and I am so glad that you all have become part of the 10 Wilmington Place family!
While I could imagine a better place for my mother, I doubt I could find one. They have had a couple of staffing issues, but I believe all nursing home have them sometimes. They really care for her. I've seen them sitting with mom, holding her hand and comforting her when I arrive on the floor. I can see having dad stay here when he gets to that stage.

Love the activities and staff that provide an exciting place to live in community! Mom always is happy with meal selections. And has a glass of complementary wine with diner nightly. The activities are great! Mom has gotten involved in several reoccurring activities. Has become a leader for some as well. Also fun events are always on the calendar! Lots of value. I think the cost matches well!

Response from 10 Wilmington Place
October 4, 2024Anastasia, thank you so much for your kind words! I am thrilled to hear you mom is settling in well and taking advantage of all of the amenities!
10 Wilmington Place is awesome! I told my family want to go there when the time comes. Her only complaint was the food. Did not like it at all, but we're finding nothing taste good to her anymore. All of our family and any friends visiting was extremely impressed with the facility and how friendly the residents and staff were. Always something to do.
Its a really beautiful place with lots of activities. It is comforting to family members to know that their loved ones are watched over. Members can be as active as they want to be. No pressure. Although they were more expensive then other places the beautiful of the facility and the multiple offers of activities make the decision to move mom there was best.

Staff is incredibly kind, patient and professional. All of them. My parents like the variety of amenities here. The move in process was very smooth. My parents love all of the meals. I would recommend this facility highly. I'm excited for spring when they can eat outside and have outdoor activities.

I will be moving into 10 Wilmington Place. I liked the floor plans. There were a lot of windows in the apartments that let in a lot of light. I liked the amenities. They seemed to have a lot of activities and a lot of things to do. There were exercise classes, card games, and field trips. There's a fitness center and a hair salon. I liked that it was family-owned and not run by a company or a corporation. I liked the food. I don't have to cook and I don't have to do dishes. They'll clean the apartment and change the sheets. You can even have them do your laundry. It's nearly maintenance free living! And the nicest people work there. [name removed] at the front desk was very helpful and kind, and [names removed] answered all my questions. [name removed] especially stuck with me over a couple of months as my plans changed. She gave me lots of good information and advice without being pushy. Yes, it's more expensive than others I toured, but you get what you pay for, and here you get top quality.

I have been visiting facilities is this area for the last decade. (My grandparents had 11 kids beginning in 1922) I have helped them shop for senor living for 7 relatives. I have always said there is 10 Wilmington, then there is the rest. Some of the facilities I have visited seem like a place people are waiting out their final days. At 10 Wilmington they are too busy living to give to much thought to moving on. Folks were dining (great food the times I ate there) bowling, shooting pool, working out in the gym. I had a small party ask if I would like to join them for a cocktail and a movie. I was ready to move in while I was still in my early 50's.

Our overall experience has been very good- mom has become very comfortable with her stay there. Very clean and orderly. The staff is very nice and check on mom on a regular basis. And they always say hello and are very respectful to her. Quality is very good and responsive - if there are any problems ( which are few)they are on it ASAP. Meals were for a bit just okay. But, the kitchen is under new management and mom is much happier as she says food is gotten much better. Tons of activities - all to keep folks engaged. Totally worth the cost. Mom feels safe and comfortable there. And I have stayed there with her several times and was glad she was there.

Most all of the facilities I toured for my loved one appeared to be good, although they were only brief visits. I needed a facility with nursing license.
